Looking to Test out a bunch of player created races (PS3)

I want to test a bunch of player created races, that are legit and good and rate them upon how me and my crew feel about the races, it'll be judge by more than 4 people most likely.

Edit: oops, just saw the ps3 in the title. in that case i don't know if the playlist works. for single jobs you can always just switch the 1 at the end of the url of an xbox job to a 2, then you can play it on ps3.

Alright, so feel free to test out one of my latest race :)

Vitreous Glass Masters GP

A fast race (around 1:20min per lap - 3 laps) in the industrial area of Cypress Flats and El Burro Heights, organized by our sponsor, Vitreous -Real glass men, with union pride-. These roads are used by trucks, so expect them to be bumpy at certain moments.

Best played with Sports, or eventually Supercars after knowing the track.
It isn't the most difficult one but it has, I think, a good balance between the few interesting turns, a delicate chicane and straight lines.
Offering the possibility to take over at different places, even tho one lap goes by pretty fast.

What exactly makes it more of a race track than the verified one? The lack of proper checkpoints? The one change in path maybe? Or is it something else?

The fact that you're not crossing 4 highway lanes with cars ramming you, or taking super cars up a dirt hill, or the random 90° corners with no markings. Hell the fact that traffic is left on in his.

That track is just a bunch of random checkpoints around Grapeseed that I could probably place in around 10 minutes.

 

As for mine missing checkpoints, I hate the sound as you pass through them and they tend to distract me from the actual road so I'd rather use props to mark the road when possible.

Not gonna argue with you my friend...but having checkpoints point off road, over hills or across farms leaving people to wonder where they are supposed to be going just so you yourself who has the track memorized don't have to listen to the checkpoints does not add up to a good race. I can race every one of my races without a single checkpoint...in fact I have a couple times run a whole lap after a crash without even noticing I had missed one after being spun off course.

 

The traffic can be turned off...and probably was originally...rockstar usually defaults all races to traffic on if no props are blocking it.

 

The short little dirt ramp adds a little flare to it sure but it does not kill the race.

 

Bottom line is his checkpoints are considerably better than yours and if either race looked like it had checkpoints just thrown about it would be yours.

 

Being the lead judge for the community approved race thread which has contributed to 5 user tracks being verified...I would like to think I know what I am talking about.

 

But by all means...believe what you want.

To me it felt like little to no effort was put into that race. The flow is broken by it's 90° corners, one of which I overshot on both laps, and what you call flare, I call cheesy/gimmicky.

If R* did turn the traffic on, half of it is on them because crossing 4 highway lanes with traffic in a race basically takes the skill out of winning and puts it in lucks hands and I can't stand that sh*t.

If the only thing you can complain about is my CP placement i'm doing pretty good. At least I can fix that. 'Through the Grapeseed' is just bad design IMO.

Sorry, but the inability to take a turn because of how steep it is, that's entirely your fault. You can't blame the creator for yourself not taking your foot off the pedal in time... I haven't played the map myself, and thus cannot say anything in regards to whether or not it's well made, but as long as checkpoints and props are used correct it's a driver issue, not a design issue. If you are meant to do a 90 degree turn, then you do a 90 degree turn. It's not that, in fact, most turns in this game are 90 degree turns. As for the only complaint Luap have, that is probably because Luap is on Xbox360 and can only see the map. Which also means the CP placements are not minor issues, but big enough to be shown on the map. It's pretty hard to say anything about prop usage based on a map.

I agree, it is my fault for overshooting those corners but what i'm trying to say is that IMO, there are better routes through Grapeseed to create more race track feeling circuits, which is what I enjoy more than taking supers up dirt hills and getting T-boned crossing highways. I feel that I accomplished this with the route/settings I chose and prefer my track over 'Through the Grapeseed'. I'm disappointed that Luap would mock my race without even being able to try it and I didn't mean to offend anyone.

He never mocked it, he responded to your mockery of Through the Grapeseed. You are comparing the two, yet there are vast differences to the route. Why do you even bother to mention Through the Grapeseed? From what I see it has nothing to do with your race. To be honest, you just seem whiny to me in your approach to get people to play your race. You're not the first person to pick the route you did, I've seen plenty of races using the same route, not surprisingly, as there aren't many choices of route for a short race in grapeseed, and I'll much prefer to play a version designed by someone who's not so stuck up on a different race that they loose sight of their own. To me that also implies where your efforts have been focused in creation, and whilst I might be wrong I would choose to play a track where I KNOW that the creator have kept their focus where it belongs...
