The Fascination with musical horns on expensive vehicles

Maybe, just maybe, some people like things you don't.

This, pretty much.

 

My question to OP, and everyone else that start topics in this way: What's the fascination of wanting to know why other people do/chose/say what they chose to?

 

Because human nature.

Its critical to know what is in or not, since we are social creatures after all.

 

But it's easy to see that this is a thinly-veiled "let's rag on people with colorful car horns" thread.

 

The reason I know this is because in these types of threads it's always the people that don't do/have whatever the OP is wanting to know that are commenting. "it's because they're ____ (fill in the blank)," "they're __ years old," "they think _____ (another fill in the blank)."

I'm surprised no one has assigned a derogatory name based on their own sexual, shame-based insecurity ie., "Those horns are f*cking GAY!"

 

C'mon GTA Forums - surely you won't disappoint me!

 

Seriously, it's fun, goofy and does serve some purpose. When a player in a mission or free roam is trying to get your attention to give you a ride, it stands out from the standard cop horn/truck horn.

 

Some of you need to unclench in big way.

I realize now why there was never stupid ass threads like this and problems with GTA IV, because you couldnt customize anything. You just spawned as a random skin had to collect your sh*t.

 

Now here comes R* giving us the abilty to customize everything online, and you have kids complaining about what horn someone else put on THEIR PV

I found those horns irritating at times. Yes, they're funny if they blast it once. But once they spam them, it gets on my nerves, especially during races.

 

R* should add a Train Horn. At least I won't mind hearing that rather than a musical horn getting spammed.

I'm guilty of putting musical horn 5 on my Karin Rebel. I wouldn't put it on anything else though, especially a super.

My Romero Hearse has a clown horn, because it's silly.

 

 

R* should add a Train Horn. At least I won't mind hearing that rather than a musical horn getting spammed.

 

And it should be so powerful that if you're nearby then your controller starts rumbling!

Apart from the truck horn, the rest of them get ignored. Currently got stock horns on all of my cars.

All my cars were brought from SP and had max upgrades, so they had the most expensive horn. I don't really mind the goofy horns that much, I like some of the classical ones.

Unless it would increases the resale value by as much as it cost to buy (or actually, more) that seems a bit silly. You're effectively losing money fitting something you say annoys you.

Edit: unless of course you're fitting them in sp for dodgy import to mp...in which case, I hope they drive you nuts.

I like Ride of the Valkyries so as soon as Rockstar added it I put it on all my cars. Except for the Roosevelt, I kept the default horn for it.

I have custom horns because it amuses me at times.

 

Stock horn = never funny

 

Truck horn on small car = ironic

 

Classical = potentially hilarious

 

Clown = usually hilarious

I'd keep it stock if it weren't for the stock horns changing themselves every time you join a new session. (Try it with a super, you'll see what I mean)

I hate all of the musical horns. They were fun for a few weeks but now I'm sick of hearing them especially in races.

 

 

I've replaced all of my horns with the cop horn. Plus when I'm alerting another player of my presence or hinting to get in my car, I prefer a basic horn.

Yes I hate seeing people putting clown horns on Adders, Cheetahs etc. I guess putting a clown horn on a Jester would be ironically funny.
