OysterBarron
I must admit need for speed has been pretty out of touch recently. It has seriously lost touch of its roots and the features that made it so good was just abandoned after about 4 versions of the franchise. When i went to a game show I stopped by the nfs booth and got the distinct impression from the bird trying to peddle it that she just knew she was peddling a piece of sh*t. Don't get me wrong some of the story's and features do sound interesting but I know they wont be able to execute them in anyway that appeals to myself. Such a waste of a franchise looks like all I'm going to have is fond memorys of the first few games as every game since has disappointed. sivispacem
Best recent NFS, in my opinion, is Shift 2 Unleashed. The series was down in the doldrums until they span off the more sim-like games produced by Slightly Mad Studios, which had all the elements we like from NFS games- car modifying in particular- combined with a more mature and, let's be frank, less downright silly underlying game mechanics and plot. Drifting blows, but the grip racing is almost as good as the likes of Grid, which is the benchmark for me in terms of accessible racing sims. Shame the third instalment has been dead in the water. gtamann123
I actually really liked The Run. And before that the original Most Wanted was pretty amazing. Sunrise Driver
Chris Fromage
This is just like those COD sucks topics. Just because the latest games suck (or are not your taste), it doesn't mean the whole franchise is bad. I didn't like the latest 4-5 games neither, but the old ones are still one of my favorite games.
Kiffster
I haven't bought or even played a NFS game in years. The last one was Pro Street, and I've played every one before that except for Carbon and NFS1. The series just don't interest me anymore. I would say that my favourite is Most Wanted, followed closely by Underground.
Misbegotten cad
The newest NFS games are really, really crap. -I like the old ones the best, you know, the ones we had on PC at the turn of the century. after those, NFS has just tried to ape other, better games like forza and burnout, with rather sad results. tuareg
I used to love porsche unleashed and i played the original most wanted a lot. Then carbon came out and it was a huge let down. Watered down difficulty and a campaign that i think i beat the day i bought the game. Then NFS remeeded itself with shift for me somewhat, but the series has been stagnating ever since. It's not a bad series, nor is it particularly good. To me it's just a mediocre arcade racer these days. Edited May 9, 2014 by tuareg

FranklinDeRoosevelt
NFS is one of the worst franchises in the world ever since the original Most Wanted. There isn't even ONE game that is even HALF decent compared to that, every game is absolutely atrocious. The worst racing games I have ever played. GTA-iFruit
it doesn't suck it just lacks Story/Racing element to it, previous an recent NFS games has been purely just racing with no story this is why its getting bad taste from gamers I like the Underground series but we will never see a 3rd but never say never!!! least they taking a year out to solve it NFS franchise, personally I think that's best. Campaign was too short, some cars too hard to get or locked behind multiplayer achievements, drifting was ruined, soundtrack was meh.
Th3MaN1
It doesn't have the charm and quality it once had, but it can still be fun. When looking at the core, it's broken. But on the outside, it can nice to sit down 20 minutes and drive around and stuff. Of course, I can't deny the fact that Forza and Gran Turismo blow the NFS franchise out of the water. Again, another great series ruined by EA. If they do the same with Battlefront, I'm gonna shoot myself in the head. OysterBarron
Shane_Dbns
I was a big fan of the series but EA milked it so much that the sight of it sickens me. I'll only buy a new NFS if its Underground
darthYENIK
The first couple NFS games were hugely groundbreaking. Especially NFS 2. For those games alone, the series as a whole should never, and can never be seriously considered bad.
FranklinDeRoosevelt
I hope the reason the studio has extended their development time was because they showed the middle finger to EA and told them to piss off, that would be a f*cking pleasure. It's sad to see the developers having pressure by EA cannot stand up to them, show the finger and tell them to f*ck off, I'd do that in an instant. Realistically if you did that, you would be in breach of contract, probably have to pay a giant fine, and have the game taken away from you, and given to another developer where they would rush it to gold or just shut down development altogether making all those months of hard work pointless and you out of the job. And EA would be right to do so.

FranklinDeRoosevelt
Like the other guy said, contract. Do they not have a certain amount of time to publish games for them? If it runs out, just tell them to go somewhere else, and if they don't agree, I would literally blow them up, don't care what you say. They are pathetic human beings, or animals. No, not even animals, they are inbreds.
Eric_Christy
Seriously, nfs series is bad recently (gameplay & physics) but the older titles like Most Wanted 2005, Carbon, UG series, ProStreet, World Online, Undercover, Hot Pursuit 2, they are the best NFS and the series reboot is now released, and it's not disappointing, Carbon is a little bit crappy because it was rushed out (PC port only)
esmittystud101
This is why I will never go back a console now. Every game I play on Xbox 360 now just doesn't pop for me. PS4 and X1 have me spoiled and I can't go back. I have tried with a few older games and I only made it maybe ten minutes into each where they just don't do it for me. Assassin's Creed II was the first one I tried to go back and play because my son still has his Xbox 360 fired up and plays it daily and he had that one in his collection finding it really cheap. After playing Syndicate on PS4.......yeah it didn't do it for me at all in so many areas of the game. Same with Cod: MW2 or MW3, tried them and they really didn't do it for me. World at War is probably the only B.C. CoD game I would play again on X1, but they would first have to add it to the list. My son was trying to figure out Bioshock, which I actually enjoyed going back and playing it, helping him how to figure it out. For being an old game, the graphics on that game was well ahead of its time. It still looks good today, even on a crappy small 720p LCD. I have all the Bioshock games as well. I do want to go back and atleast finish Infinate one day, which I never did because of X1 releasing in 2013.
