I "stunt" with my dirtbike, bati, and now liberator. I don't do stunts like in the video though. I freestyle. ie Sanchez off the side of the freeway going north near the prison, doing whips and clearing natural jumps.

I gave stunting a try. Got shot in the face.

I tried to do it with a quad. Couldn't even make it to the skate park before getting blown up.

0_0.jpg

Quads are so lame. They can't even do wheelies. Then again motorcycles can't wheelie around corners, thus making the dirt bike almost as bad as the quad haha

I'm really excited that you found an extended interest in the game, and if this thread provided any motivation, well, that's just awesome! Thanks!

I love that location you're at in the pic. I must try that! My newest favorite spot is right outside LSC, as well. It's coming out of that tunnel behind you (the shopping area) on the top level, hitting the broken guard rail (instead of doing the "official stunt jump," and soaring over the glass building just to the left of you glasses in the pic. It's a thrill to get so much air, but as you pointed out, more often than not... I die upon landing! LOL!!!!

Would love to hear more about what you experience! Cheers! ;)

Oh yeah, I've done that one a few times now also. Great for showing off to friends :)

Never had it kill me though except when I crash...

Found a few new spots that I have fun with, will get some pics later.

  • Kortz Center - Start on the ramp going down to the parking lot, veer right then left slightly to miss the walls and any parked cars, then straight ahead and wheelie off the planter and backflip over the hedge maze. One of my goals now is to come back the other way, and land on the maze and ride across the tops of the hedges. I've come close on one or two occasions but I can't get up there consistently.
  • Pacific Bluffs - I mentioned this in my previous post, but I've actually landed it a couple times now. Start at the cemetery and head west, when you get to the end of the road, line up with the two dumpsters directly ahead and hit a wheelie. If you do it right, you'll hop off the curb, and then hop again off the dumpsters, catching massive air clearing the GOH and the houses on the other side, landing on the beach. Mostly results in death but I have survived it a couple times now.
  • Maze Bank Arena - Had a real "pic or GTFO" moment here, made a short dash across the freeway, hopped the curb and then did a backflip off the retaining wall, and somehow landed on top of a streetlamp. Rolled off before I could try to get any kind of a pic. Trying to get back up there but the few times I got close I just crashed through it.

Hey what bike do stunters recommend for a beginner like me?

I've been content with my Thrust but I wanna move on to more advanced stunts

Hey what bike do stunters recommend for a beginner like me?

I've been content with my Thrust but I wanna move on to more advanced stunts

My recommendations are:

BATI: Great speed, great wheelies, good distance and good height.

RUFFIAN: Great wheelies, great distance, great height, good speed.

PCJ600: Good wheelies, okay speed, okay distance & height.

All other bikes are okay, but I wouldn't use them, myself.

The Thrust, Bagger, and Daemon are great cruising bikes, but I wouldn't recommend for stunting. Just my thought.

Hope this helps! ;)

for good wheelies and speed. Good height and distance on jumps.

RUFFIAN for good wheelies, height and distance, a bit slower for my taste.

PCJ600/675 is good all-around. Not nearly as good as the other two, but still fun.

My experience with all the bikes is that these three are reliable and despite poor timing and faceplanting a lot, they do the job.

What about the Akuma?

Okay, so I just bought my THIRD Bati last night... I know, stupid. But, I'm telling you, I use them all! My yellow one got stuck in a tree and my blue one was destroyed, so I called in my new green machine and got the job done! hehe!! (edit: changed gross green to great green!)

Anyhow, I have a new challenge if you're interested. I call it, "Riding the Train!"

Step 1: Jump onto the back of the moving train.

0_0.jpg

Step 2: Land inside the first container.

0_0.jpg

Step 3: See how far you can launch up onto the train toward the engine. I couldn't get THAT far! LOL!!

0_0.jpg

It's really tricky and timing is the key. I must have bailed a dozen times, but landed it 3 or 4 times!

Good luck! ;)

I wanted to love the Akuma so much, but it just didn't do it for me. It was great on the road and even out in Blaine County, but when it came to doing jumps and such, I got frustrated with it. ;)

Okay, this is my favorite "discovery spot" so far, mainly because it's tricky, but not hard and there's a REWARD payout at the end!!!

First off, here's an aerial view of the location of the jump. From the bridge to the left all the way to the heli-pad on the right.
0_0.jpg

1. Find the bridge that runs parallel to the one going to the outskirts LSC. (fyi, you can ride up those arches, which is fun!)
0_0.jpg

2. At the spot I took the photo, turn right to face this wall. You need to jump off that wall onto the parking garage.
0_0.jpg

3. If you are successful, you'll clear an arched rooftop and land on the garage. Looking back is this:
0_0.jpg

4. Turning around, there's a small ramp that leads to another rail you need to jump over.
This is interesting because you can go full speed on the ramp and it won't "bump" you, like curbs do.

If you look to the lower left, you see my Bati. But, look up to the right, you see the payoff if you do this!
0_0.jpg

5. Yeah, you are landing on the LSPD rooftop, which you can't get to from the street, I believe.
The payout for successfully completing this stunt is either a Police helicopter or an unarmed Buzzard,

both which are a great way to evade bounty hunters or would-be assassins! ;)
0_0.jpg

6. A couple of things to be aware of. (1) it's a police building. doing this stunt got me a one-star level
and four - yes, four - cruisers after me! I called Lester just in time to get them off my back! (2) when
doing this stunt, it takes a few times. Several times my Bati stayed up on the roof, though I fell to the ground.
There's no way to get it back except to drive off, call Mechanic... which I had to do a few times. ugh!
0_0.jpg

0_0.jpg

I hope somebody finds this interesting or worthwhile or helpful! I loved this challenge and am glad to have found it.
The Police helicopter is a great discovery, as I'd never flown one until tonight. Cheers!! ;)

My newest, favorite pastime in Los Santos is stunting with my Bruins Bati.

I've been doing it since early on in the game, but lately I've taken it to new heights, reaching higher locations and tricking off things I never tried before.

Also, I'm starting to see "lines" like I used to in the THPS games.

Does anyone have advice on this subject, or locations where there's good lines i should be trying?

Also, if there's a better bike to use, then I'd love to know your thoughts.

0_0.jpg

It's like a completely separate game, made just for bikes, like Grand Theft Motorcycle, or something!

For those unfamiliar, this video inspires me and is the kind of stuff I aspire to (the boat landing is ridiculous).

(and no, it's not my video or anyone I know... I just dig it, is all!)

Thanks for the advice in advance! Cheers! ;)

Good lord that video is amazing, I watched the whole thing and now all I wanna do in the game is this kind of sh*t.

Also, much love for the Bruins(And any other Boston team, MA native born & raised) and that bike. I myself have a Bruins themed Sabre Turbo, looks sexy as f*ck. Classic black primary with classic yellow secondary.

Yeah, I agree - the video not only inspired me to change my entire approach to this game, but STILL inspires me, as I've watched it a dozen times and continue to just jaw-drop at some of those leaps.

However, while I'm not able to achieve the spectacularity of the stunts in the video, I'm hitting some amazing jumps, finding the coolest locations, and best of all, when I'm being chased by another player online, I use these kinds of stunts to leave them in the dust... I only wish I could hear them as I drive through that tunnel at the shopping center by LSC and leap off the guard rail over the other buildings instead of doing the "normal" and expected stunt into LSC...

"Having a blast" can't even begin! Glad you found this thread, @MetalThrasherXtreme, and if you're ever up for it, I'd love to read about your experiences! And most definitely, stay Boston Strong! Wickid hahd! ;)

Yeah I ended up over on YT looking up numerous different stunt compilations and they just further inspired me to go on about my own stunts and tricks.

I have no doubt it'll take me a while to get them down and even come close to achieving the same level of "epic" that those in the videos display, but with practice I'm confident anyone who really puts the effort in will reap the benefits. I'm even more pumped because I just got myself the Nemesis finally and it's such a good stunt bike, loads of control and lightweight. It's definitely not the fastest but it's fast enough.

I'll definitely come back here with stories once I find some crazy stunts to perform. I'm already starting to view the city(And the rest of the map) differently as I find myself scanning potential stunt spots more and more. I remember hopping from car to car while on the train trying to get towards the engine, I didn't make it that far either before running into a box car -.-

And of course, always Boston Strong. Fahkin' wikkid :D

There does need to be skateboards in the game. They could double as transportation and a weapon.

I really like using motorbikes to jump and stunt like this. It is funny especially when being chased by someone in a car and they cannot keep up with you LOL :D

This is my favorite place to get away from cars and LOL at them

0_0_zps727fc690.jpg

The picture is not easy to get as they are far away from each other but it is 2 car parks on different sides of the road. You can jump off the red one on the right and land on the one on the left. If you keep going when you land you can sometimes do another jump of the 2nd car park and land on a building over the next road.

I agree and love baiting players into chasing me so they can watch as I jump out of range and they are left scratching their heads!

I often feel like the "Rabbit" from Saving Private Ryan, luring tanks into their demise.

As for jumping off cars, I have had no luck in doing so. I always end up arseplanting. Not sure why they made it do cars are so tough to stunt off of?

I try to land back wheel first while accelerating. I'm not sure if that's good technique or not. I still splat a lot.

Lol ok I think I've maybe found holding break as I land back wheel first to be more efficient but I also splat a bit

It's a hit or miss. Sometimes I land them, sometimes I don't. What I despise, though, more than anything, is when I fall off on a really high jump in the upper hills and my bike slides down for 46 minutes. No matter how fast I run after it, it keeps sliding... sliding... sliding away. grr! ;)

I saw this on a YT video: If you have someone with a Turismo R (I think a Cheetah works too), you can choose whenever you want to stunt. Just race towards the front of the Turismo and try whatever stunt you like

EDIT: See

Start on the top level of the Betta Building Parking Garage, about one block southwest of Life Invader Headquarters. From there, head east until you reach the roof of The Archipelago. You will probably need to visit the rooftops of the residential buildings in-between along the way, even if just for a bounce. Once you're on top of The Archipelago, maneuver over to the eastern wing, line it up, and hope your brakes are good as you try to come to a stop on top of Life Invader Headquarters.

Ruffian- back of the gas then pump the gas and pull back( simultaneously) for certain jumps
