Why GTA is so glitchy

Hey all.

 

I've got a theory behind why gtao has so many glitches, problems, balancing issues & general buggyness.

 

It's an open Beta.

 

Am I alone in thinking since they released gtao, it was all a huge beta for the "MMO" gta that has been mentioned since pre-gtaIV? (no i'm not talking about samp)

 

think about it. they finished the SP and missions and everything, and released it when that was done. But this GTAO is far from what they probably had pictured.

 

Now they know the next gen will have the performance with cloud processing to be able to host all the small details/peds etc to make the MP world as full as SP.

 

would that mean that they're basically using this gtao to make sure they've the content, feel, and evrything ready for the gtao next gen? Hence they wanted to push us all to social club [maybe for character continuity?].

 

tl;dr Dinosaur gta patch from 2011 in internet made it yellow.

Maybe, people forget that we are playing on old consoles here, there are limitations. Yes, with next (well current) gen consoles R* will be able to make GTAO a lot better. I wouldn't really call it a beta because the 360 and ps3 versions of the game have pretty much reached their capacity which means they can't upgrade it much more. The definition of beta means the current game would be upgraded, not a re-released / new version on next gen.

Its just coded in an insecure way. Can you mash buttons on your banks website or app and get free money?? No. Same thing except Rockstar can't code (yet). I bet they hire someone who can next time lol. I doubt the game as it stands pushes the limit of the ps3 by the way. Its not optimised for it as it was coded for both consoles, generic coded games never run well on the ps3.

OP is probably right. We've been talking about this in the DDZN forum since launch. We won't see the full realization of their vision until the game is moved to the new generation, and even then it will be some time before it's out of it's beta phase.

 

Of course that all makes sense, the majority will just say, "cash cards /thread."

RDR was nearly twice as buggy and had a few game breaking bugs in the beginning. Maybe since RDR wasn't nearly as big as GTA Online it gets forgotten about.

 

OP I'd like you to provide the name of one MMO free roam game that has less then 100 different bugs/ glitches. The answer is you can't, free roam games are so big they have to have some imperfections.

It's confusing.. R* are being total d*cks to everyone who wants the game on next-gen consoles and PC, but they have a vision for the game and there is no way they can go anywhere near achieving their ambitions on 8 year old hardware.

Perpetual Game model. The game will keep changing and being their first try they made a few mistakes. Right on thinking the game is an experiment but doubt for an MMO experience. It would have been ideal to release it on capable hardware but less profitable.
