New RP Cashcards idea

as much as i hate to admit it, i've purchased ONE cash card. the $10 one, and that was only because only just started playing GTAO again recently and wanted a little "boost" to get me going. bought a car, upgraded it a bit as well as a couple other cars i already had, and saved the rest.

that being said, RP cards are a bad idea. at least with cash cards you still have to play the game to level up and unlock stuff. if people can buy RP, what's the motivation to play the game? to me, leveling up and unlocking weapons, etc. is THE reason to keep playing. i'm only lvl 31, i've owned the game since midnight on release but with kids and a job etc. i don't have much time to play. as much as i'd love to have a minigun or an RPG, buying the ability to have those things would completely kill any motivation i have to play the game at all.

play the game if you want to level up. that's what you do with video games, you play them. you don't shell out a bunch of cash and say "there, i won!" where's the satisfaction in that?

I think it's a great idea, it can help towards server costs and free dlc in the future, as they say

:)

Think of it this way. During the billionaire days people who were lucky enough to get gifted a ton of money went out and bought everything. What were their thoughts afterwards? "this game is boring" "I bought everything already and CockStar doesn't release new content, this game sucks!".

RP cards would be a disservice to the people buying them. Sure, if they start it out and have to grind, don't like it, they move on. Some will stay some will go.

Now, imagine people that review the game. "We tried out this GTAonline, got a RP Card so we could have everything and review it thoroughly. Game got boring quick since there's nothing else I can spend cash on."

This is all heavy speculation of course.

Disclaimer: I hate the cash card model they already have setup and have never (nor will I ever) buy a cash card.

That being said, since they aren't moving away from the cash card model, there's no reason not to do this. For the folks whining about pay to win, cash cards already break balance by letting people afford to waste ammo and giving people better upgrade options as far as custom cars. Adding RP cards won't have that much more of an impact. If you are that concerned play DM with forced weapons, and turn customs cars off in races (Yes GTA Race and capture will still be broken. We can dream that one day Rockstar will add the forced weapon option to all modes and make it the default).

completely agree. like i said, this would kill all motivation to play the game at all, at least it would for me.

RP cash cards seems like the wrong idea, but I wouldn't really care.

I'd rather they just have more double RP weekends. Call of Duty did that sh*te like every other week for the first six months after release with most of the games

It feels like GTA Online has only done this like five or six times, and it always had some strings attached like it only worked for boat races or capture mode up until last week.

I think that for those that haven't crossed the level 120 threshold, would think it's a great idea. In my opinion, being over 120, a lot of motivation is gone with nothing to work towards. Grinding missions and earning money seems to be more boring with nothing to work towards other than bankrolling an ammo stockpile for free roam chaos (which is the only reason I keep grinding).

As far as rich kids, most of them already hacked and glitched their way up since mommy and daddy never make them earn anything anyways. That's life, it's not fair. I honestly couldn't care less either way if the RP cards came out.

Can't do much if people don't like the game. If the only thing that keeps you playing is a constant trail of "bread crumbs" rather than the gameplay, that just means you didn't like the game in the first place.

Like everyone else has said:

NO

Rockstar is need greedy like EA, Activi$ion or Hideo Kojima, RP cards will never happen, and that's a good thing.

OP secretly works for Rockstar and is looking for our opinions on this. Either that or he bought the megalodon cash card and struggles to rank up.

Seriously though no. Part of the fun of online is ranking up and unlocking new things.

What do you guys think about a Cashcard that will give a RP boost to your charakter? I mean we can buy GTA $ in this game for real cash so why don't they give us the option to buy RP to get succes in this game?

I think a good new cash card model would be:

Standard Cash Card 10$= 5 lvl

20$= 10 lvl (+ 2 bonus lvl)

50$= 25 lvl (+6 bonus lvl)

What do you think about this? I would gladly invest 50 $ to get RP for my charakter to level up fast!

I'm going to go with no...your price structure is way too high for something like that, firstly.

Secondly, unless you're just starting this game, buying RP for rank is a silly idea since after rank 120 there isn't anything to unlock.

Unlock a mini-gun, you're done.

Unless and until they have unlocks for the rest of 880 ranks...this isn't a smart move for anyone to invest their hard earned (or borrowed) cash in.

I like cash cards, but this is just a bad idea. What would be the point of playing grinding than?

Fixed it. :)

I would have bought an RP card about 29 days of playtime ago. Too late now....

EDIT:

Shell out $200 and have 8M on your bank, and 120 instantly on your rank, totally fair for those who can't afford it, right?

Bank 'n Rank Cards - what I want to buy are Revenge Cards

I've spoken in support of cash cards before, but even rockstar know how stupid this would be. They as good as said so when defending their decision to sell cash cards...
