Just in case if everyone is wondering why they get frozen when they report/commend a player in-game and get frozen by it. There is two reasons why.

 

1. Whenever you're about to report a player in GTA: Online and they leave the game around the same time. Your console will hang since the user is no longer in the session.

 

2. You will get frozen if the person you're reporting has his ports closed off, bad connection and such.

 

Reports are sent directly to the player in-session and when their online progress saves. that report will be viewable by R*.

Bro. people have been getting frozen when they report people since the beginning. not what's been going on after patch 1.11. plus there wouldn't be any point in reporting the user if our console is gonna hang due to an error we can't see. plus the report wouldn't get sent anyway lol.

UPnP more likely. you'll only freeze sometimes when reporting a player that has that type of connection.

Some hackers are setup so that if you report/kick them it freezes you. I was told of a crew of modders that does this...

Both the reasons you gave are unfounded, untrue and make no sense. Stop making sh*t up, and learn how things work before making more technically-challenged claims like this.

 

The technical reasons you gave do not reflect how the internet and networking in general work. You need to learn how TCP and UDP work and then learn how servers employ those protocols to provide the inter-connectivity upon which games such as this one so heavily rely.

You freeze just about every hour on the hour now. If I need to report a cheat ill do it because chances are I was going to freeze in the next 5 mins anyway.

Huh? Every time someone is blasting music or background noise on their microphone I report them for griefing (in the last few days I've been reporting them for "hate speech") but in all of those reports I've never had my console freeze. Not once. And I do it daily, and religiously.

This has been happening from day one. The person you are reporting sees nothing. Only rockstar. Yes hackers have raped the report feature but there aren't many out there so your paranoia is unwarranted. Play as normal...don't get your panties in a bunch....report when needed and reboot if you have to..move on. The end

I'll stick to what I always done. Use in-game report when a player is harrasing, loud or griefing. Use their email when it is mods and harmful glitchers with a video a proof.

The only cause of the freezing as it's been said lots of times is the patch itself.

Ky1e have you ever used wireshark? you probably don't and don't even know what it is. it's to see the data being sent in and out through your connection. i basically have my ps3 connected through my computer to monitor it. i know a hell lot more than just typing on the keyboard. I even know what's going on when people freeze out of the blue.. i'm being more helpful for rockstar and everyone then you being a complete asshole to me..

 

Edit: Also if this thread gets locked before i have the chance of posting evidence . proof is all i need to unlock it.
