i lost alots of races due to contact race .. however, i do win some due to other racers contact each other and i got the win from it .. i believe everything got pros and cons. With the ghost mode on, we still can crash to all sorts things, poor driving skill of resident of LS,etc . ... With the contact switch "on" .. frustration and excitement is there .... with the switch "off" .. less frustration race and race become more real .. i guess ..

I m looking forward to try it with On mode .. let us experiences the game with different things ..

There's a big difference between rubbin' in races and what a lot of people are doing, which is purposeful Police Pit Maneuvers.

Worst idea ever. It's a cool option though, but still.

Makes sense though, we have to cater to the cry babies. Dumb the game down alittle bit for the children. So it's totally understandable.

Well, do you?

I sure look forward to see my winrate become even higher!

Do you think you will win more, or less when it's

enabled?

What makes you think your "winrate" (not a real word btw) will become higher??????

Everyone else was in the same boat as you and now everyone is in the same boat as you still. It's not like you're the only one getting smashed before and it's not like you're the only one who is going to be able to ghost race.

Everyone's win/loss ratio is stay about the same.... it's just that races will be less frustrating.

Because I'm the best racer there is, and just unbeatable if no one are able to block or pit me.

I'm the frikkin undisputable racing champion, period.

So....when you (and others) still don't win races because you're not as good as you think you are, what exactly are you going to bitch and complain about until Rockstar adds more pansy options?

Nono, I don't think you read what I wrote:

I am the undisputed champion.

I still haven't seen after 2000+ races anyone

who drives corners and difficult, bumpy terrain

as efficient and flawless as me.

Anyone is ofcourse allowed to challenge me, if they have an xbox!

A lot of my crew do rally races and drifting... this will be perfect for them. I could care less what randoms do I have friemds to play with and we don't use draft nor catchup.

Lately the majority of races I've been in people seem to try to drive fair but of course with lag etc there will always be some "rubbing", if it gets dirty then you can usually play the same game and it can be a fun element - I find car choice is a big factor though, I like to use the "crappier" cars like the Vacca and Banshee which seem far more resistant to spinning and pit manoeuvres than some of the top models, people are always spinning themselves out on those cars if you drive them well. I win most of my races in them (if not on the long, straight tracks). I think non-contact will be fun in the same way, it adds some variety if you want to play fair and will become very popular.

Not really. Seems quite lame to me, how can it be called racing if they remove the possibilities of making mistakes and crashing?

it isnt racing at that point. its "grouped time trials" where best time wins.

i personally have fun bumping and being bumped, personally. it gives laughs.

Is anything? Half the posts are always people complaining about the post anyway.

Try playing forza or gran turismo with this mentality and you end up getting kicked from races with all the good racers. We don't put up with kiddies playing bumper cars because racing is about knowing the track and being able to pick the best line. What guys like you end up with are the idiots that think running around the track backwards in the fastest car in the game is fun.

You can't hang with the real racers anyway, so.... it's a match made in online racing heaven.

You guys get to hit each other, and those of us who actually know what a braking point or an apex mean can join a race with the knowledge that our ability to drive is what is going to win the race.

I would like to know how slipstream would work with Ghost races ?

I imagine slipstreaming will be disabled if collisions are turned off. Might still be able to decide if catchup is on or off though.

For those who are freaking out about no contact races, there is always the "GTA race" option where shooting up cars, crashing, and blowing others up is acceptable.

I really hope the majority of racers don't start bitching out to ghost mode.

For me.. Ghost mode will just be a another stupid concept i need to avoid when trying to find a friggin public game.

Ghost racing...seriously?

Just host your own races then. I've found recently that it's fairly easy to get atleast 5 people in a lobby I am hosting and it doesn't take all that long either.

<<<Waits for the new griefing method of your opponents purposely hovering their ghosts over your car and blurring your car until you clip some obstacle and spin out.

Ghost racing will be dull as hell.. Just a big blur of cars all junked up/

With enough weed tho.. It might look like this.

Yes I cannot wait for the No Contact Option. So many Online Players don't know how to use their brakes when taking a turn. I enjoy the whole Rubbings Racing idea, but when you just straight up dart a corner and take somebody out or purposely going backwards.

I really like contact in races, it's half the battle trying to pass peoeple, I just hate when people do it on purpose. Not that I'm a fan of NASCAR, but imagine that without contact, like people just setting lap times. Sure it'd be more fair, but it's not entirely about that.

Personally I will never use this nor will I race with it on. Racing is about competition. If you don't like it, you can still race by yourself and get paid.

I understand people don't like playing against dirty racers. Neither do I. But if your actually good enough at racing, people who play demolition derby during a race don't matter because they shouldn't be able to catch you. You gotta race smarter than them, not cry foul.

If you play basketball with no contact it's no longer basketball, it's called HORSE.

The only people disappointed with this are those who must hit the others and cause them to crash in order to win.

That is extremely not true.

The only people who say that are people who try to make excuses for not being able to win.

Most GTA players are sharp as a box of rocks.

Currently the most played race was Long Haul 2. Nothing but a 10 minute highway race at full speed. But... players join these races with catch up and slip stream on expecting a 'clean' race.

If those players expect a clean race on such a straight line race with catch and slip stream on they are on some sh*tty drugs.

It will be fun, since I still will be able to see the other players trying to catch up to me.

I'm not going to hate on anyone who enables this feature, but I won't use it myself. A big part of racing is successfully passing and defending your position and contending with other cars. If you take that out it's just a step away from running time trials by yourself.

Hell-f*cking-yes, I'm looking forward to it!

Now I'll actually win in the races comprised almost entirely of feckless f*cking douchebags who only play to ram others.

There is nobody who hates dirty racing more than me but even with that said I can't see myself ever using the non-contact option. As somebody had said a while ago, the ghost racing option seems to be more like running time trials than a real race. I join random races a lot and I would say that the majority of players there are dirty. Every time I start a race I am at least expecting to be taken out since it is so prevalent. It is extremely frustrating but if I happen to come across dirty racers I simply just leave and find another race.

However, I also run in two great professional racing crews who only accept clean racers, and that is where I spend most of my time. Flying down a stretch of road bumper to bumper in a pack of good, clean racers is both tense and exciting. That is real life. For me it comes down to purism and unintentional contact is part and parcel of that.

As a long time Trackmania player, I welcome the addition of non-contact races. Hell, I might even customize an Elegy to look like a car I have in Trackmania and load up the Content Creator to make some TM-inspired races.
