Why would you care? Too many sports? Who tives a sh*t. Nobody drives coupes anyway.

I care. I give a sh*t. I drive coupes more than sports/supers. In fact, i drive muscles, coupes, compacts and sedans more than sports and/or supers.

Only coupe I've ever owned is an Ocelot F620 and I've owned all muscles except for the Voodoo.

Why is this even a discussion?

I'd like to know as well.

No that is not what i said.

I own:

Tailgater

Beejay XL

Blista

Jackal

Bullet

Jester

Bagger

Sabre (used 40% of the time)

Stinger GT

Bodhi

@Pegassi and Luke:

This is a discussion because even though the massacro will be a sports class car ONLY due to the fact that it will have a "GT bodykit upgrade" (like the feltzer), it is in fact, realistically speaking....a coupe.

Like 1 guy posted here, maybe it'd be a good idea for R* to create separate classes: tuners and perhaps GT.

once you gear yourself mostly to freemode races you really stop giving a sh*t what class a car is in

i'll be happy to race a massacro with my infernus

I mean, we could sit around here and talk about which car should be in which category all day until we're blue in the face and then where would we be?

Well If im not mistaken, R* changed the classes of a few cars since the beginning of GTA V and O. So, they might change it if enough ppl ask about it. You never know.

From the pic, looks as if it comes with a roll bar & chassis upgrade option.

To my knowledge, coupes can't/don't have this option, so no, it shouldn't be in coupes category.

Also, these cars are not real. They are fictitious, and you can't argue reality with virtuality. This isn't Forza.

sh*t like this just makes me think that R* should have gone with a tier-based system, and IV driving mechanics in order to balance out car performance.

Tier S - Supercars, such as the Turismo R, Entity and Adder

Tier 1 - Sports, low-tier Supers such as the Bullet GT and Vacca, high-tier Muscles such as Dominators and Gauntlets, and Coupes. Also motorbikes

Tier 2 - Cars such as the Sultan, Buffalo, Blista Penumbra, Phoenix, Buccaneer and so on. Entry-level street racers

Tier 3 - Sedans, SUVs etc.

Offroad sub-tier - Sanchez, Sandking, Bodhi etc. Offroad races would be way more balanced and fun with IV mechanics. Any car should be able to fit this tier if it's lifted up with off-road wheels.

Not only would races be much more fun with IV driving mechanics, but also way more varied since people will be using different types of cars. Performance should also be able to be upgraded and downgraded to move cars between tiers. E.g. a stock Buccaneer would be Tier 2, but a maxed out Buccaneer with a high powered engine should bump it up to Tier 1.

It's hard to class cars as just one class.

True the Massacro may be a coupe but it's also a sports. I think they are trying to keep the classes fair. For example the Veyron SS (Adder in-game) is a super car/hyper car but it's also a coupe. For some cars it's easy to draw the line but evidently the Massacro is going to be too fast for the coupe section.

I'm ok with the 'sports' designation, considering that it's based on the 2nd-gen Vanquish. IRL, it's always been a 'grand tourer', but the newer version's clearly been given a 'sporty' (in that sense of the word - like sedans that come in a 'racing' or 'sport' model with leather seats and a shiny badge on the back) make-over, with an angular design that looks like it's had an aftermarket body-kit added. Not to mention that AM's marketing it in much more vibrant colours than the usual GT/coupe dark colours or metallic silver:

Compare that to the 1st-gen model, which is much more traditionally 'coupe' in look (sleek, unfettered, stock colours limited to things like racing green, burgundy, navy, black or silver):

With the way 'coupe' and 'sports' have been designated in GTAV, it might not be a perfect fit, but the Massacro (and the 2012 Vanquish) probably fit 'sports' better, as a result - even if they're not technically 'sports cars' proper, you can see there's a certain logic to it. My two-pennorth, anyway...

As I said, IV driving mechanics balances things out. A high powered Gauntlet can easily beat a Vacca if the driving was based on personal skill and choice, rather than "use fastest car in class and win".

That's what IV did perfectly. People jumped to the Infernus because it was the fastest, and mostly lost because they were inexperienced, or because they picked the wrong car for the track. On a track with lots of corners, cars such as the Coquette or Banshee could beat an Infernus because they turned much better, or in the Banshee's case, turned better when you know how to handle it.

With V, all of these cars weigh the same, turn the same, feel the same. The only difference is one goes up to max speed faster than another does. Way to balance things out and make it "feel like a racing game". As far as I remember, most games give you a chance to win based on skill and educated choice, and V does the complete opposite.
