How would I go about explaining to you just how incredibly complex a program the size of Grand Theft Auto V (+ Online) is? Changing (or fixing) one thing can cause unintended issues elsewhere, which certainly cannot always be predicted. And you can't test every little thing that isn't related to the thing it isn't fixing; we'd never get updates or the game to begin with. Just not enough hours in the day.

 

Then you've got bugs that don't always happen, and some that are seemingly impossible to reproduce. So on and on.

 

You can start by telling people how complex SA (a near 10 year old game) is even today...

Then move on to the notion that something like altering finished code can easily lend itself to catastrophic crashes by something as simple as misplacing a comma.

They will have a test environment with the ability to turn on/off any features but this won't be online as anything on Xbox /PSN needs to go through an approval process.

I was "facting" at your assertion that they don't test things, you silly panda. :p

 

What if I do understand gravity :O?

 

And explain how they could screw up a mechanic they didn't had to touch at all (Fire Truck) if they do test their stuff? If they touch the mechanic, they gotta make sure the change works too.

 

Else, if it ain't broken, don't fix it!

 

Because to Rockstar testing is,

 

Spawn, get in new car, go to LSC, meet with another Dev, blow sh*t up.

Nothing that involves firetrucks

I added the r* dev october 2nd 1:56AM. Therefor he is a dev no one else could of been rich with supercars and such October 2nd.

There's a RS Games crew with Rockstar employees in, almost all their accounts are private, but they just seem to play/test custom matches judging by the crew comments.

I doubt they play the game. its like creating a game all day, you get tired of seeing it day after day so no they probably don't play it

You're really that upset about the firetruck? If the hose had some power to it and you could use your guns in the fire truck, it would have been of some use.

Lol I ran into a guy on ps3 that showed proof he was a dev tester he gets online around 7pm on fridays and 5pm monday-saturday. On Sunday's he's offline. I met him around October he had he highest end apartment and supercars before glitches where even released. I would say his username but he is on the forums himself.

 

I had high end apartments and supercars in October...

I had Eclipse Towers by the end of opening week.

Interesting that this came up, yeah, I have too...I was looking at my GTA IV achievements yesterday and I had an achievement for killing a Rockstar developer in GTA IV online

Easy way to find out:

 

Start new character, watch intro scene, start the first race - Lamar's level is displayed :santa:

 

I am 99.999% sure it will still be 99 :lol:

The only people upset about the 'nerfing' of the water-hose were the people who use it to kill passive players.

 

Obviously I don't condone such things, unless the passive has just been forcefully removed/ejected from a Rhino perhaps :miranda:

As with most online games they were probably given nothing to avoid them helping out friends or having an unfair advantage over players.
