Heists and WatchDogs release date coincide?

So there's been some rumours and suggestions lately that Rockstar will release heists the same week WatchDogs is released in an attempt to sabotage Ubisoft's game.

But wouldn't this be counterproductive? I don't think there's any credence to the theory; why sabotage another game when both games can co-exist and both be successful simultaneously.

Wouldn't the advisable thing be to release it a few weeks after WatchDogs, so they can maximise media coverage?

 

I'd be flabbergasted if heists are released the same week as WatchDogs, considering the intensity of anticipation for WatchDogs.

I highly doubt Heists will be released 2 weeks after the High Life DLC. The earliest I would expect them is early to mid June. Though it may be longer than that.

seen how long have take them to release "high life" with 4 new vehicles and adding 5 new apartments onto existing buildings, i really doubt heist come out just 2 weeks later...

 

its more likely they release some sort of "verified jobs" or some 2X or 3X money/RP days leading up to that day but nothing as big as heist.

 

doing so make kill the monentum for the heist!

It isn't about killing their game. It's about keeping fans from jumping ship to Watch Dogs. Sometimes it's about protecting your own product more than it's about ruining someone else's.

People assume Watchdogs is competition for gtao because they are sadly msinformed on its multiplayer component. Watchdogs multiplayer is similar to uncharted with the exception being a large open map. A capture only multiplayer pails in comparison to gtao therefore the two games should not even be refernced in the same breath.

 

 

The two games couldn't be more different from each other if one was a puzzle game and the other ball in a cup. Watchdog fans need to get over themselves....it'll be a good game but most consider it a gta clone and nothing more.

 

Rockstar has nothing to fear from that french dude...he's an idiot that spends 10 mil on a future soldier live action trailer...c'mon man.

i say the next update after high life will be the second tuesday of next month they all have been on the second tuesday except the one weekend one why would that change

ubisofts multiplayer usually dwindles after about 6 months because of uplay, It wont compete with gta online but it's singleplayer content will certainly have me entertained for a while

Just because we've heard random speculation more than once doesn't make the thought any less retarded...

i would do it this way... it's much more clever to wait just a few days to let them get in touch with WatchDogs - and than going for the hard choice.

Releasing it at the same time with WD would slower the impact of heists. GTAO is a game to get addicted... i personally think WD is going to be a game you will play 1-2 walkthroughs until it get boring... (although it would be great if im wrong with this opinion)

 

An even greater impact than heists would be a next-gen statement from R*...

This would be a dick move in my opinion after Ubisoft openly congratulated Rockstar on their achievements with GTA V.

 

If they do decide to do this, I'm gonna be playing Watch Dogs anyway.
