Joseph Cooke
Personally glad to see Bayern take off. Gives us a chance at catching Roma. Next three matches in Europe are do-or-die matches. Even one draw will probably sink us. @Stehpen: Google Translate gimme something like this: DO NOT THROW A f*ckING NAZIS OF sh*t , IF IT WERE THE F- RUSSIAN So yeah don't be throwing Nazis...could put someone's eye out. Watched Chelsea pound Maribor, although actually they were sorta unlucky in some ways. Unlucky, how? If you mean they were unlucky to get hammered like that, then they deserved it because they offered nothing. Only a couple of shots that might have slightly troubled Cech but nothing else. I think we have been the most unlucky ones because we have lost Remy too. Now our options against Man Utd are Drogba and Solanke. And to be honest, I'd rather start with Solanke because Drogba is really past it. He can neither hold up play nor can he get past defenders. I doubt more game time will fix any of that. Can anybody read Portuguese, I only get Nazis, sh*t, and Russia/Russian? More or less: "You played nothing (or you played sh*t) you sh*tty Nazis, if it wasn't for that Russian son of a bitch..." --- I saw the penalty and it was indeed an awful call. A tie would have been a fairer result.

Although I never expected him to be our first choice striker even in an injury crisis. I was actually pissed that he started ahead of Remy against Schalke. It cost us 2 points. I wish we hadn't sent Bamford out on loan; the current situation would have been perfect for him to shine. Solanke has done well for the youth team but you can't really expect a lot from an inexperienced 17 year old. Although it would awesome to see him bang in a few goals since he's a Chelsea product. SouthLand
1st. So glad the f*cking basques scumbags lost against Oporto. To bad Tello didn't score a goal. 2nd: Being a Bayern Munich fan must be very boring. Oh look we always win 99% of the games... I don't know in Germany, but if i was in charge of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, i would send FCB and R. Madrid to third division and only allow them 1 million euros for transfers. Let's see how many games you win then. F*ck modern football and it's 500m€ teams.

Drogba is a legend to them and he's a third choice striker so it's not like he needs to be on Costa's level. Just somebody who they can fall back on and has a lot of experience at the top level. I think a lot of Chelsea fans knew he was past it but when a crowd favorite returns you're obviously going to be happy and excited about it. Edited October 22, 2014 by Tommy. May be cringeworthy is the wrong word but I still think it was kinda weird. I know that he's a legend and all but I wouldn't be overly excited if my club signed a "past it"-legend who's just taking up space resulting in the club to shunt young players off to the reserves or some 2nd division teams. Oh really? Let's just research for a bit and take a look at the best players from Barcelona's Le Masia.: Of course a few players on the list aren't at Barcelona anymore but it's still a strong line up. Are you even aware that Le Masia is one of the best youth academies in the world? Of course you don't know and I am not going to bother arguing with you anymore because you are literally clueless about football outside your own club's division and you always mysteriously disappear from the topic for a few days whenever I type a counter argument to your posts. If you hate Barca, that's fine. But hating on Barca without researching your facts properly and not coming up with counter arguments is not fine by me. So next time either post a counter argument or don't post at all. Edited October 22, 2014 by Ducard
Eram
Regarding Schalke-Sporting, I'm a Sporting fan and felt since the game began that the pitch was a bit steep. It's not only the 33 mins red card (that is questionable) or the off-side goal (that one can say it's just for a bit). It was all the minor things during the entire game that were almost always dubious and partial decisions. UEFA FB page was invaded by protests. Of course that Gazprom being both Schalke's + CL's sponsors and it's possible/obvious link to the Russian referees is the main complain referred. The 90+2mins penalty. I really can't understand what that goal linesman did. J. Silva even had the ball marked in red on his right chick!... That ref was pretty much sleeping the entire game and when he finally got a chance to justify his payday, he got it all wrong, unless: It's more than time that Mr. Platini accepts that video refereeing is indeed in need! Even if he surrounds the pitch with 300 referees giving hands they will still get it wrong (the "pen" situation was about 4-5 mts away from the goal referee that "spoted" it)... Some system like Rugby has would do just fine, though any other that allows video replay's checking would also be welcomed. Stephan90
Does anybody have a slow motion of that scene? I read that the ball touched his shoulder/arm after it hit his face. But agree on the video proof, it is definitely needed.

FranklinDeRoosevelt
And we also have Manchester City and Liverpool. The last time Man City won anything was in 2001-02 season, apart from the FA Cup in 2010. And the number of fans were absolutely TINY. So if anything, Man City fans are glory hunters since 2011. I won't even bother with Liverpool, because to be fair, a good lot of them are not glory hunters at all, only a fraction are. But most of them definitely hate United. Crokey
2001-2002?!?... Erm try 1976, then 2011, 2012 (2) and 2014. If by "TINY" you mean another... yawn... Emptyhad joke... yawn, then clearly the price of football for fans never crosses anyone's minds when they say these things... oh and pot/kettle, as United at times have never sold out Old Trafford for European games. But if you are talking in the past, then I doubt there would be much teams who end up in the third flight selling out a 32,000+ stadium, would there?
