Cazorla was terrible today, it's been a while since I've seen anyone give the ball away that much. As for Wilshere he might find it hard to get a game if he continues to play like he did today.

Sanchez seemed worse from the stands. Attacks just slowed down when he had the ball and was trying too hard to go through strong defenders.

 

Hopefully we'll try him up front soon, or that he learns that this isn't La Liga as regards defence.

 

We were lucky today. We shouldn't have conceded the set piece (typical Arsenal, I even called that move before it happened, you could see a blatant near post run up a mile off). Still, 3 points is handy, better than this time last year..

Sturridge must be frustrating for Liverpool fans when he plays up front by himself. He drifts out wide a lot which would be fine if he had another striker partnered with him but he doesn't. He should just let Sterling and Countinho take care of that.

I cringe every time Glen Johnson touches the ball, can't wait for Moreno to come in. Lucas had a shocking game, should have played Emre Can instead of him.

Lovren looked very assured, Skrtel played solid too.

Our defence arguably helped win the game.

Well every team that has won this weekend haven't excatly set the world alight this weekend. Probably why no one has won by two goals or more. Well Aguero scored in the last minute so apart from City then.

Really? From what I've seen, Liverpool still look quite weak at the back. Lovren is good but I don't think much of Skrtel.

In a way I kinda hope LvG isn't the answer to the problems at United. Not because I want to see them fail but more for the fact that I don't think Moyes could be blamed for it all and it should help raise his stock. He deserves a decent job again, poor bloke.

At least Moyes was graceful about it and didn't directly blame anyone for the debacle last season. He also seemed to accept that it was partly his stubbornness to change his methodology that eventually led to his downfall.

@Mark: Moyes hasn't been blamed for everything, not by any means, but he certainly wasn't the answer to our problems. It was just a mixture of his tactics, team selection, squad performances and lack of signings to keep up with our rivals that saw us finish in 7th.

Doesn't matter who's in charge. If the dressing room is lost, then the job would be too. But the thing is Louis knows almost everything about dealing with egos. I'm sure he'll force his system and it will yield results given he's given time.

 

We've got bigger things to worry about. Moyes being missed or not isn't one of them. We need to get players in. Class players. Then we'll know if Dave will be missed.

Actually that video doesn't quite demonstrate how awful the penalties were, it was horrendous. When the player started walking to keeper would choose a side and start jogging towards the corner, the player would see this and then STILL shoot the ball in that direction.

Wasn't entirely Moyes' fault, but he was still pretty shocking as Manutd manager. He just always seemed out of his depth and he just didn't click with the club at all. His tactics were poor, his ideology was poor and negative, and generally he just seemed to be completely out of sorts. Yes it was an incredibly hard task to take over from Fergie, but come on, he still absolutely bombed in every single way. He did about as bad of a job as he could have done.

 

Great to have the premier league back anyways! Really frustrating having to wait so long to watch Chelsea though, it's been like watching everyone else unwrap their christmas presents whilst you watch from outside through the window. Watched all the games on Sky Sports so far, I was impressed with Cabella and Rivierre for Newcastle yesterday, Fernando looks like a hell of a player too defensively.

 

Gah I can't wait for tonight. Also lel, get out of here with the women's under 20 WC.

Same here. Can't wait to see this squad in action.

 

On the GK situation, all signs point to Courtois from what I've read these past few weeks. I'll be wholly surprised (unless there's a sudden injury) if Cech gets the nod. It's really bittersweet to be honest because Cech is such a legend. I just can't see a Diego Lopez/Casillas situation with Cech and Courtois, though that would seem ideal.

 

Speaking of the teams that are interested in Cech, I find it stupid that Real Madrid and PSG are the frontrunners, considering they have keepers that are solid no. 1's. Monaco is the other team linked with him, and I think that would be the most fitting destination.
