FranklinDeRoosevelt
United offered an escape route for Toure lol. But obviously, unsurprisingly he rejected and wants to cut all ties with the premier league and prefers a PSG transfer this summer if an acceptable offer comes through. But yeah, he is acting like a total snubbish prick. Edited July 18, 2014 by FranklinDeRoosevelt

Der Süden
Who will become captain? Schweinsteiger was vice captain so I would think he will take it. Neuer or Hummels are other potential candidates.I hope so. I guess the reason Löw prefered Lahm over him was that Schweinsteiger sometimes tended to be a bit too emotional for the job. Lahm always kept a cool head. But I think Schweinsteiger has grown in terms of maturity and would do a good job at being captain now. After his performance in the World Cup, I think he is ready to assume captaincy of Germany. He plays with so much passion for Germany that while he might get a bit tempered sometimes, he will be that motivating force that a captain should be. But nobody knows how long he will be able to play on a high level. He had injury-problems over the last couple of years. So may be Löw tries to establish a captain who is a bit younger. Hummels would be excellent.

Girish
Is Chelsea planning on offloading Torres? I sure hope so. We've got rid of Ba, and he was actually alright as a third choice striker. So now we've got Costa, Torres and Lukaku. I could quite easily see all possible scenarios happening. It's possible we'll sell one and keep the other, it's also possible we'll sell them both or keep them both. I'd like us to hang on to Lukaku, he's a got a bright future and he's one of the best young proven strikers in Europe. Torres is bad news every way you look at him though, I really hope we sell him. sh*t c*nt. As much as we would like to see the back of Torres, I think we're stuck with him for the rest of his contract because no other club would pay such insane wages for a washed up striker. At this point, I'm sure he won't mind being the 3rd choice striker as long as the moolah keeps coming. Also, http://www.kingfut.com/2014/07/18/salahs-chelsea-career-balance-military-service/ It would suck if he has to go back to Egypt. Dude's got potential to make it in Europe. Doc Rikowski
Lahm is a bit too young to retire from the national team and to be honest this new thing of declaring "retirement from national team" is a bit odd. I don't recall this happening in the past. If you don't retire from football you should keep playing for your country otherwise it sounds like "yeah I will still play for who pays my salary but not for my country". I thought this kind of bs national team retirement was an Italian exclusive, Totti and Maldini just to name a couple. Totti retired 8 years ago and still plays for Roma today... That's stupid. Eutyphro
Totti retired 8 years ago and still plays for Roma today... That's stupid. Maybe that is why he still plays, because he spared himself from playing too many matches and didn't burn up early. Players play too many matches these days. I understand that for some quitting international football is the right choice. Lahm is amazing though, best full back I've ever seen, and he'll be missed. Sturridge was the second top goal scorer, but Suarez played a huge part in a lot of his goals. Suarez will be greatly missed whether they like to admit it or not. I'm not saying they will be screwed because they won't as it's evident Lambert and Remy can score goals, but he will be missed.
Punk-in-Drublic
If I see "they're doing a Tottenham" one more bastard time...ugh *facepalm* Rogers is signing players with potential and those who suit Liverpool's style of play, he's strengthening and adding depth to the squad. I'm itching to see Lazar Markovic, can tell he's going to be dangerous, he's fast as f*ck. I was impressed with Can before he got taken off today, he's going to be another belting player. Vercetti27
potential? do you know how old lambert and remy are? with regards to markovic, I'm sure he has something in him, but he is unproven in england, and he will take time to bed in regardless. GTA_stu
Yh because he's obviously talking about Lambert and Remy when he mentioned potential, and not the likes of Can and Markovic. Talk about strawmanning... Mourniho's said Chelsea are finished now in the market. Don't know if he's being truthful or not, but I'm fine with that if it is true. We've made some great signings, and plus with sh*t tons of players returning from loans we've got plenty of strength in depth too, even if most of them do end up going back out on loan. Just a slight question mark over centre backs. Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry are fine, but then for 4th choice Ake or Zouma might not be quite up to it. We've got to start giving young players a chance though, so hopefully this is a move in that direction.

Capital
Has there every been a national player who made a comeback from his retirement? To give you a big example, Zidane. He quite France after EURO 2004, he then after the qualification for the 2006 World Cup returned. Many people thought he was joking, especially since his season before the World Cup wasn't too good. Ended up leading them to the final virtually on his own.
