3minty3
So pleased Chelsea won today. I really hope we win the title this year, could not stand it if Man U won another title. Man City up to 6 now. Looking like a great match of the day tonight. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/706548-the-footy-desk-part-1/?do=findComment&comment=1059855094 Share on other sites

SIKKS66
OT was electric today; shame the same thing can't be said for the football. Outclassed in midfield and lacking a quality, imposing forward. Hope this bullsh*t performance doesn't end our season on a whimper. Glad to see Kiko back tho. When he and Nani came on they upped the tempo. Nani must surely start Wednesday, he seemed proper up for it today despite his somewhat short cameo. Hopefully Hargo will be back for Blackburn. We need some fire in the middle. Scholes and Giggs disappointed me today. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/706548-the-footy-desk-part-1/?do=findComment&comment=1059855612 Share on other sites

Kiko and Nani definitely made a difference. It showed Berba needed help up there and Nani should of started. nerner
5 games unbeaten now. Definitely looking up towards the playoffs. ALthough that looks very unlikely stranger things have happened in recent years (Hull)... TommyMufc-Champs
Nice to know that we will be seeing Newcastle United back in the Prem next season. I think West Brom will get automatic promotion and I don't know who will get promotion by play-offs though, maybe Forest or Cardiff . Mand'alor
Messi just destroyed poor Arsenal with 4 goals. He was on fire in this leg compared to the last, flawless stuff. It should be a very good semi-final now between Barcelona and Inter. Seddo
f*cks sake, completely forgot about today's Champions League games, bank holiday Monday's always seem to blag my head. Looking at the goal times, it all started to look quite rosey for the Arse. The Killa
Funny how quick that changed. Messi was invisible in the away leg and I heard people say he was overrated, but completely destroyed Arsenal at the home leg now everyone says he's the best player ever. An Arsenal who, mind you, also have quite a few injuries Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/706548-the-footy-desk-part-1/?do=findComment&comment=1059860644 Share on other sites
TommyMufc-Champs
Messi is unbelievable , I love watching him play. I thought Arsenal screwed up second leg but done well first leg. We have Munich tonight, It will be a good game. Messi was invisible in the away leg and I heard people say he was overrated, but completely destroyed Arsenal at the home leg now everyone says he's the best player ever. Yeah, too true. Certain areas of the press saying how Messi was anonymous and overrated. I knew he'd tear Arsenal a new one in the Nou Camp. Four goals though? That's crazy! Sick of being negative for tonight's game. I'm thinking Fergie should scrap this 4-3-3 and go back to the United standard 4-4-2 with Kiko up next to Berba. I don't want to see 90 minutes of no service for Berba like Saturday. Here's how I'd go: VdS, O'Shea, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Fletch, Valencia/Park, Kiko, Berba Saying that, I just can't see Fergie changing his Euro formation now. Kinda at a loss to how I want the game to go. An early goal may see United sitting back and conceding late, putting us out. At the same time, the longer we go without a goal, the more unbearable the match will be to watch. And if it goes to penalties? Forget about it. Against the Germans with our best three peno takers (Rooney, Hargo and Anderson) out, THAT would be terrible. Messi was invisible in the away leg and I heard people say he was overrated, but completely destroyed Arsenal at the home leg now everyone says he's the best player ever. An Arsenal who, mind you, also have quite a few injuries Vermaelen should have absolutely nailed him when he was striking the ball for his first goal. You get booked but then he becomes invisible again. But Arsenal would never do that and fair play to the lad as to be honest I haven't seen a better individual performance in the Champions League, or any competition, ever... SIKKS66
Heh I read about that. To be honest, I'd have probably done the same thing. Poor Burnley, I really thought they would have stayed up this year given how amazing they were in the cups last year. I know he brought them up and it was amazing but Owen Coyle has a lot to answer for. The scariest thing about Messi is that he's 22. 80 goals in 136 appearances for one of Europe's top clubs, winning pretty much everything you can before the age of 25. Where the hell do you go from there? I think he'll gain true immortality if he leads Argentina to this year's World Cup. Seddo
I was reading the paper today and it was saying Rooney has been on bike rides and played an 11 v 11 practice match with the youth team so he sound alright but i still didn't expect him to start. Was reading all that too, just thought it was media gossip. Not to believe everything you read etc. Glad I was wrong. The United formation is set out to attack, attack, attack. This has gone from a nervy clash to a potential slaughter (strong word I know but still...). Tonight could be the night Gibson comes of age, as well as Nani and Rafael. Scholes, Nev and Giggs left out. A true passing of the torch, if everything goes to plan. Surprised to see Park not involved at all. Seddo
Put the f*cking ball into the f*cking box, what's the point of passing it side to side for 10 minutes going no where? Rafael had a cracking first half both offensive and defensive, that 2nd yellow was a bit harsh though. Edit: What a f*cking goal.
