He could have drifted an articulated lorry with trailer attached sideways into that gap.

And then some.

As for Pulis, he's done a ridiculously good job. They don't play the best football, but by god they have gotten some good results and defended solid when they needed to. I think their biggest result was getting the win at Everton. I think Pulis got manager of the month for April as well.

I see City have been fined £50 million and limited to a 21 man sqaud for next year's CL due to breaking FFP rules.

Firstly this will probably be overturned on appeal. Secondly I dont get the point in FFP as it's to keep teams from spending beyond their means, yet Fifa think a adequate punishment is to fine them so they lose even more money :/

I'm just speculating here, but I imagine the £50 million fine probably won't be factored into the club's earnings and losses, so it will have no bearing on if the club can meet future FFP regulations. I'd also imagine these fines are somewhat tailored, so they'll only dish out these massive fines to the worst offenders ( i.e. PSG and Man City), and it's not like these club's owners won't be able to afford these fines, although it's still going to be a hit for them nontheless.

No doubt that £50 million isnt going to be that much of a problem if at all for City's owners. It just seems pointless to put FFP in place then fine a club. The way it would of effected City and other teams more is by punishing them on the field.

£50million is pocket change to City. They wouldn't even be bothered to pick that up off the floor. The FFP doesn't make much sense to me either, the same clubs will probably be charged year in year out. (P$G included)

2 of my mates have gone to the United game tonight. Would've f*cking killed to go to that. If Giggs doesn't feature there's going to be a riot. Get a pen in the 80th minute, let Giggs take it, his record continues. You heard it here first.

If someone else wants to make a new Quiz feel free.

I have a question to ask the ManCity fans. Where is Negredo?

He's been mainly used as sub, but when he gets on, he's just not been having any luck finding the back of the net. I think next year he'll kick it up a gear

No more quizzes and no more sniping at each other.

*Loads Gun*...*Takes Aim*..."Hey Max can I ask you something?"... *Shoots Max*... "How do you like that Max, a question and a snipe?"

UEFA can go f*ck themselves with a rusty cactus, they have next to no idea about football, so much so the average inbred hillbilly outcast from Deliverance would have a better idea on how to run things, they are just pissed off of that some clubs, not only City, but teams like Chelsea, PSG etc are upsetting the applecart of the usual suspects of "big" teams and their perpetual dominance at the top. They can't grasp the fact that we need variety to shake things up and that having the same old sh*te at the top is going to make the whole thing stale as last weeks two stripe bread and that European competition will end up as depressing as SPL in that we'll be stuck with the same ol' bastards doing the same ol' thing. Oh and this isn't an angry post sparked by the fact that City have been targeted by these f*ckwits, I just felt the need to vent about how utterly useless and inept and out of touch UEFA and their international counterparts FIFA are with the modern game and the modern world of business and finance... dumb.. f*cking.. beavers

James Wilson, where have you been all season?

Another talented gem within United along. Hopefully the media don't hype him up badly.

You call it shaking things up, I call it distortion of competition. No one is against variety. And the likes of Atletico or Dortmund show that it is possible to reach a CL-final or to win the league without having some Arab sheikh throwing around with money. I have no idea how much money you guys have already got from your owners, but it has to be a huge amount. And compared to that amount of money, you guys have won f*ck all.

No one is against variety apart from the organisation which is punishing teams for investing in their clubs. Why should a team which has received investment only recently be penalised over the 'old guard' of clubs which received investment years ago? Man Utd were splashing the cash for years, as were Arsenal, but now UEFA have decided (partly due to the lobbying of said big clubs) that no more teams will be allowed into the club and that this is all we need. No team from outside of that group will be able to sustain a challenge for more than a few seasons, which effectively consigns teams like Everton, Newcastle United, Valencia and so on to eternal mediocrity as their players get picked up by the big teams for cheap fees as they can't afford to keep them.

Instead, I would put it to you that FFP is by its very nature a distortion of competition, because it is a complete distortion of the principles of the free market. It is attempting to restrict the movement of players to the clubs that would pay them the most money for doing their job, which is, as you may have noticed, something that has happened throughout the history of football. It is only because it is wealthy businessmen doing it now and not the traditional powers that UEFA have tried to step in on the basis of it being in the greater good of football. The whole system is anti-competitive, and it will almost certainly crumble in the face of any challenge -- because UEFA is not legislating the 1960's USSR, but rather the whole of Europe in a capitalist age founded on the free movement of labour.

If you want to turn the Champions League into a pan-European Bundesliga dominated by the same cadre of teams then be my guest, but don't expect me to be particularly in favour of it -- because the German league system as it stands is utterly predictable, and it always will be for as long as it labours under the constraints that it imposes upon itself.

Finally, not all teams are as lucky as Dortmund have been -- to have the biggest stadium in Germany built for you with public money after the city that was supposed to have it pulled out of hosting a tournament. Then following that to have the biggest team in your nation loan you money to stop you from going bankrupt. Congratulations on 6/7 seasons of relative stability and success, but you aren't exactly disproving my point that football is supposed to move in cycles, are you?

Funny how you guys tal about £50 Million like if you were referring to £5.00

My club just announced that for next season we are going to have 1,000,000 euros only to buy new players... Honestly, I wish we could pay £50 million fines because that would mean we would be playing in First division in a new stadium with good players.

Found this on the net. Is this Mufc 14-15 kit? or just a demo

IvuCBEA.jpg

Kinda looks spanish-ish. with the yellowy-orange stripes.

edit: NVM, still in talks: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2621520/Adidas-talks-clinch-world-record-60m-year-kit-deal-Manchester-United.html Defo a demo that someone made then.

Of course it's a demo as they aren't going to have that CL badge on the sleeve next year

It will happen. Happens all the time. The media talked about Januzaj being the next Ronaldo or some sh*t when he scored two goals. Same with Sterling. All young players get overhyped, especially if they're British. In the British media they do anyway.

----------------------

Thoroughly enjoyed the game last night. Was a bit surprised to see two debuts given but they didn't disappoint at all. Also great to see Giggs feature and give a speech at the end. Sad farewell to Vidic aswell, arguably the best CB in the league in recent years in his prime.

Has anyone mentioned Clermont from Ligue 2 have named a woman as their manager? First time in history a woman has lead a proper professional mens football team.

But could she do it on a cold, rainy night in Stoke?

If she does a crap job, she's going to get so much grief.

Of course she is going to do a crap job, does she even know the offside rule?

How would she fare at Chelsea?

I'm sure John Terry would try and bang her in the first training session.

James Wilson and Tom Lawrence look like great player's especially Wilson after bagging two goals on his debut. The future is bright at United that's for sure.

Last night was actually quite moving. Vidic is one of our best centre backs of all time, no doubt about that. Good luck to him at Inter.

Also, Phil Jones could be out of the World Cup with a shoulder injury. He just goes in for anything that lad.

Not too long ago United fans said the same. The reason for their belief in a bright future at Old Trafford was a certain Sir Thomas William Cleverley of Basingstoke :p

I never actually rated Cleverley. He wasn't even that good at Watford when he was on loan tbh, he was just average.

He ain't a terrible player just not good enough for us or any other top 10 club in the Prem. Hopefully we have him up for sale this summer and one of the new comers in the PL buy him.

Shame Old Trafford had quite a few empty seats then. Seems the glory hunter section of your fans cant be bothered to turn up and thank a loyal player of yours anymore.

I know there was a lot of empty seats in the first 10 mins of the game but it's like that at night games. People are always late because of work I take it but it did fill up. Obviously not a sell out which is a shame but it wasn't as bad as the Etihad :)
