flitcroft101
Madrid playing the same as under Mourinho? If you've watch them all season you'd see that they play nothing like they did under Mourinho. Just been announced that Zanetti is retiring at the end if the season. Another legend going. I've watched almost every Madrid game this season. It's Mourinho's blueprint with refined additions, i'm not saying Ancelotti hasn't changed anything because he has (team morale for one, more open to youth etc and formation switches) but the blueprint is still typical Mou Madrid tactically. Italians seem to enjoy living in the past instead of the present. History does nothing for your degrading league, history doesn't help Juventus out of the CL group stages for example. I predict a 1-1 tomorrow evening, I think Atletico will advance by the skin. I hope so too because a Madrid derby CL final would be quite the spectacle. flitcroft101
Suppose that settles that then! Does that mean Ancelotti will go to United and use Moyes blueprint? there's a huge difference between David Moyes & Jose Mourinho. Mourinho transformed Madrid, they were atrocious when he first arrived and a club with no identity. It took a long time but he finally started to build a Madrid capable of defending and launching the worlds strongest counter attacks (they beat Barcelona twice in his last season) only for him to lose the dressing room and be forced out by the players/media. Mourinho rebuilt Madrid around this defensive counter attacking style, the same style Ancelotti uses but he's refined it. Ancelotti is an excellent manager, he's done a good job in bringing stability back but this team was already built for him, i'm curious how long he will last if Madrid blow the CL final. That's Ancelottis real test imo and his survival probably depends on it.

I feel bad for any manager who has to put up with that mess. It seems to be a situation similar to Chelsea old guard hating AVB, if the new manager doesn't clear out the old boys he will end up just as f*cked as David Moyes. But the up side is, you can't do any worse than Moyes. It is a no pressure job. Here is 200 mill to spend (rumoured figure) now finish better than 7th. If you can't do that you don't deserve the job. Doc Rikowski
Italians seem to enjoy living in the past instead of the present. History does nothing for your degrading league, history doesn't help Juventus out of the CL group stages for example. I'm sorry but I don't see any German, English or French manager in the 4 semifinals this year. But I see 2 Italians. True, I just see one Italian team among the 8 semifinalists but I also see just one English team, one German team and no French ones. So, at the worst, we are on the same level even though right now we invest 1/4 of the money that has been invested in Spain, Germany, France and England top teams. Cause in today's football it's mainly the money that puts you in the position to win. Serie A is certainly not what it used to be, the example that everybody followed after the 80s, 90s and 00s, but it will come back sooner than you think. Main sign of this is that Italian managers have been winning titles all across the planet.

Fireman
Bayern just doesn't have a striker. Mandzukic can kiss his ass goodbye once Lewandowski gets transferred, how horrible was he yesterday. The few passes he did get his head though went ABSOLUTELY nowhere. They need someone to shoot on goal, but it seems Guardiola doesn't allow them to. Edited April 30, 2014 by Fireman

There is a joke in Spanish that i want to share with you guys: Here is the Joke The other day i was in a Night Club and I was actually talking to a nice girl. We both laughed, we smiled, we stared at each other... I could see that we both were on to something. We spent lot of hours in the club talking and it was fun. An hour later, a friend came over to where we were having a drink, and he started flirting with her and ended up in the bathroom f*cking her. But hey, don't worry, according to Guardiola, i was the real winner because i had the possession during all the night. hahaha Edited April 30, 2014 by SouthLand

dice
Mandzukic is a classic striker, he doesn't fit into Peps system. It's quite painful seeing him getting rotated with the likes of Gotze or Muller. He just doesn't know what to do with him

Vercetti42
Guardiola's system fitted with Barcelona because he had the right players. (Messi, Ibra, Iniesta, Xavi) At Bayern he doesn't have the right players. Simple as that.
Mista J
Ibra? Is that why he's still there? They wouldn't be in the sh*t they were in if they'd just keep Ibra, but no! Little Leo wanted to play as the striker. They may not show it, but they treat Messi like he's bigger than the club. I bet he had say in bringing Tata to Barca. I cucked Alex Jones
Messi refuses to play with strikers equal to his own ability. Doc Rikowski
I don't think tiki taka, or as you wanna call Guardiola's (or Barça's, or Crujff's) style, is dead or has become completely ineffective. The effectiveness of that style of footbal also depends on the players and their condition, both physical and psychological. BM has won the German League with many weeks of advance and they won last year CL. It seems to me the adrenaline level just decreased and so it did the hunger for wins. Real Madrid on the other hand is still fighting for the title and very focused on the objective. Sometimes such things make a huge difference. They won all of those when teams were still trying to figure out how to stop the tiki taka. How many more goals would Barca score if they actually had a no.9 like Ibra? Especially when they're desperate they throw so many pointless crosses to their players that are 5 foot 7 inches. They limit what they can do attack wise with their play style, and they're too stubborn with tiki taka that they've never got a no.9 and it's moments like this, what they're currently going through that it will haunt them. They need someone to come off of the bench to get crosses thrown at him.

If it turns out that playing this way doesn't win teams anything over a number of years then perhaps I will agree with you more, but as for now Barca and Bayern are still two of the tops teams in Europe playing the way they do. Barca have Messi. That's that spark that pulls them out when they hit a team that sits back. He pulls something magical and manages to seal the game it's happened plenty of times. I don't really watch Bundesliga, but who do Bayern have as competition? The only competition they've have recently is Dortmund and this season half of their team is out injured. Bayern are a fantastic team, but they literally buy the Bundesliga. All the best players go to them and the other teams can do squat. They have a squad and a team as whole where anyone from their team is a guaranteed starter for any team. They're squad is stacked. Bayern practically has two world class Starting 11's. flitcroft101
I expected Atletico de Madrid to take it. I've been watching them all season and they've been absolutely unreal, the evolution from the kun aguero/diego forlan, to the falcao and finally to the costa days has been amazing to see. Europa to CL finals, all under Diego Simeone. Atleti are a very special team.
