I wonder if he'd actually want a job again right now. He might want a year in the relaxation spa to calm his nerves a bit after what he's been through. Him going to Newcastle would be pretty interesting though, and a decent call if Pardew does get the sack. I don't know about Ashley's ambition, mid table isn't really that bad and based on that alone I wouldn't say he'd get sacked. But angry Alan's temperament and behaviour this season might be a big reason if he does go.

Ha, I'd rather poke out my eye than sit in the Home section at the Den. f*cking Millw*ll.

But yeah Beanee, not many Championship fans but I keep my eye on all leagues because you never know where my beloved West Ham will be playing their football in a few season. You're obviously welcome to stick around and chat football league to your heart's content, its good to have you aboard! :^:

I don't know. I still think Moyes needed more time at United but I agree with stu. Heck even a 5th place finish would be decent alongside a nice domestic cup run could have kept him for atleast another year or so.

It's a shame but I don't think Moyes is the same manager as he was at Everton. In Everton he seemed determined to build a good club which he eventually did. I think in the end the pressure got to Moyes of managing probably the world's most famous football club. Still I wish him all the best for the future.

Louis Van Gaal is my pick for Moyes' replacement. SImeone at United is so not happening IMO. I can easily see him complete his work at Atletico by building a world class team which he has a lot of potential to do. Probably do a Ferguson in the LA Liga.

We might not have that many people that support championship teams, but I know there's a fair few people in here that still follow it and will probably jabber on about it if you bring a talking point up, like the playoff race for example.

EDIT: I think the main question that all football fans are asking now is.....What will happen to the 'Chosen One' banner?

Well there's Southland who supports Sabadell but that's the Liga Adelante so I am not sure if it counts. However if you hate Barcelona he'd be delighted to see you. :p (but it's a bad thing since I support Barcelona)

Would United want Van Gaal though? I thought the whole reason in bringing Moyes in was to have a manager in place for the next 15 years or so. Van Gaal has never stayed at a club more than 6 years, plus he is 62 years old so if they did bring him in then he's going have to be replaced again in a few more years.

Van Gaal as a "quick fix" is more likely. Bring him in and let him stay at United for a few years. Get CL football back, start challenging for the title, rebuild the squad. After that Van Gaal can leave and United can bring in another manager once things stabilize.

Exactly my point. Like I said I thought United wanted a young manager that would stay for years and build a squad not a guy that's going to be around for a few years then leave. Maybe they should go after Martinez.

Because the last Everton manager did so well.

Edit: That has to be a joke. It's a joke, right?

It's a option. I understand they would rather have Klopp, Simeone or Guardiola etc as would most of us, but lets face it they aren't getting any of them.

Why would Martinez leave Everton? They're better than United at the moment and since Moyes had such a sh*tty time, it defiantly doesn't give him a good incentive to leave.

Money?

Saw this video after United's first game of the season, when it was posted. Just makes it even more fun to watch it now.

If Everton keeps qualifying for Europe Martinez will get a job at a major club that isn't in a sh*tty situation in the next few years.

Anyways, Atletico and Chelsea tonight. Who ya got? I have Aliti winning 2-0

Are there many fans of the Championship here? Any supporters of those teams?

Ha, Championship is but a dream for me; the 2007/08 season was my favourite ever as a football fan, until

happened and it quickly became the worst (first time I've ever watched the goal on youtube, it always used to hurt too much). Although I did spend quite a few years as a season ticket holder in that league it looks like it could be a while before we get back there (here's hoping it'll only be another season in the League 1 wilderness, we've certainly finished the season well this year).

As an aside if anyone can find a club with a wealthier owner than ours that has been so consistently mediocre, I would be shocked. The guy's a billionaire and has taken us precisely nowhere...

Ah well at least they're a few of us Championship supporters then! I'm a Forest fan.. before the ranting and raving starts, i know, i know.. As for Millwall, nah I'd rather not sit at the den - I'd rather be in a lion's den than that den i think tbh! Good to see some variance round here though, blackpool, millwall, Bristol City.. good stuff!

Athletico will win i think. Since Chelski lost at home and that unbeaten run under Jose, i think that'll hit him hard. I'd rather Chelsea go through (supporting English teams and that) but i think Athl will do them

We need to get an away goal that's for sure. Even if you lose 2-1 or 3-1, heck even 4-1 it gives you a fighting chance. I'm thinking a 1-1 would be a great result for us. A 2-1 to Atletico or maybe even another 3-1 is more likely though the way we're playing atm. Hazard should be back for the 2nd leg and we're much better at home. We'll just ignore Sunderland's result. So as long as nothing disastrous happens tonight I have high hopes we'll go through.

United arent a sacking clib, but no United manager would ever say:

"We must aspire to City's level"

That was disgraceful, Moyes should be ashamed.

Giggsy for now, I'm happy with that until the end of the season.

They nearly are at City's level, all they need to do is bring in Steve Coppell for a month and they'll be right where we were in the 90's having a manager a month.

I told you guys right from the beginning that Moyes Sir David was garbage and would be sacked this season! No one believed me.

"YOUR JOB NOW IS TO STAND BY YOUR NEW MANAGER"

*Fixed it for ya

EDIT: I think the main question that all football fans are asking now is.....What will happen to the 'Chosen One' banner?

the banner is on Ebay, curent bid is 11k apparently?

They shouldn't sell it they should put it in charge, may do a better job.

Just leaving this here:

Van Gaal for a few years with Giggs assisting eventually to take over as a long term replacement isn't beyond the realm of possibilities. Giggs is inexperienced as a manager so having him working along side someone like Van Gaal for an extra bit of experience is a good idea. Who knows though.

United fans should be thinking less Klopp and more Laudrup.

Just kidding. Not that Laudrup is a bad manager, but I do honestly think UTD still have the allure to attract a big name manager. One season won't change much, and it's hard for the f*ck to be f*cked up any worse than it already has done.

Honestly, this is a squad that has Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata. You have the foundations. It will only take a bit of money to build a squad that's in contention for the league title again.

One of the most boring games ever.

It's not far off. Chelsea doing that tactic of just defending for 90 mins a hope they can nick a away goal in the final minutes.

So when big Sam plays this sh*te against Chelsea it's '19th century football', but when Mourinho does it against Athletico it's 'tactics'? f*cking bullsh*t, it's all sh*t and Pulis could have this Chelsea side playing like this.

@Beanee: good man. I've got a lot of time for The Tricky Trees, one of my best mates at Uni is a big forest fan and he's basically a wreck at the moment because you're so close to the play-offs. I want to you guys back in the prem.

What is Chelsea's formation tonight? 9 - 0 - 1
