@Crokey: Demi is diabolical, Lescott is average imo but deserves a spot above Demi. Richards is decent but he's rarely going to get the nod over Zabaleta. As for Nastastic, I don't see a great deal in him tbh.

 

Lescott is average in as far as distribution for a defender is concerned, however what he does well (most of the time) is that he takes the safety first approach which is "not sure just welly it up the park"

My cousin invited me to see this match: RCD Espanyol vs FC Barcelona... Nice little derby with a nice show from the crowd:

 

Speaker first says the teams who are going to play and people start booing when they hear "FC Barcelona and the players who are playing". The Espanyol Ultras start shouting "Puta Barça Puta Barsa eeh eeeh". Then the Speaker goes ahead and starts telling the crowd the players who are playing for RCD Espanyol and everybody supports them.

I'm not going to act like I know alot about the situation at Charlton but even though he did get them to the quarter finals of the FA Cup they are still bottom of their league. I mean they have given him 30 games in the league to turn it around, plus it isnt like they sacked him in November it's March now

Well, yeah he's bottom of the league but they have 4 winnable games in hand and are only 4 points from safety. They beat QPR not too long ago. He was a very loyal player for the club and has proved a useful young British manager steering them from League 1 to the Championship. Survival was the name of the game this season and there's nothing to suggest that's not possible. And now they've gone and replaced him with some twerp who was Technical director of AC Milan's Youth team, hadly the sort of experience you want in a Championship relegation fight.

 

The new Belgian owner over there has indicated that he wants Charlton to be a feeder club for Standard Liege...let that sink in. Imagine a new owner sacking a fan favourite manager, bringing in a foreign no mark and then suggesting you're going to be nothing but a feeder club for a foreign team. Its disgraceful.

BBC sport are also doing a countdown to the WC with a "100 World cup moments" thing where they show a famous world cup moment every day. You can't embed the BBC's videos like you can with a YT video. So I'll just link it. That's the Zaire free kick where the player just boots the ball for no reason lol. If you scroll down a bit it gives you the others too. Thought people might enjoy them.

 

Can't see Arsenal turning around the tie tonight, at least the Milan v Atletico game should be a bit more interesting.

My mate and I were discussing the other day what the funniest thing in sport is? We were torn between a well-struck own goal or an emphatic leave in Cricket which then hits middle stump. We'd reached an impasse until our other mate showed us that Zaire video. We had a winner: mid-70s African teams which don't know the rules are the funniest things in sport. Brilliant.

It's a damn shame, I didn't realise he was the manager until that win against QPR, and then I saw how low in the table they were, but it was pleasing to see both an English and Black manager being given a chance at a relatively big club. Such a shame. You're spot on Max, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's just about 'foreign owners' ruining the game, plenty of sh*tty home based owners have made some shocking decisions when it comes to managers and finances, that have ruined it for clubs. To cut to the chase, it's money. And a lot of billionaire investors from abroad just see English football clubs as a big chance to get another accessory / asset, into which they'll spend lots of money, make little back but at the same time f*ck it up for those who matter most, the fans. Cardiff and Hull are prime examples of this.

 

It's sickening, and I just wish the pathetically hopeless FA try to do more about it in the future, because it could get much worse !

 

Chris Powell was a great servant to Charlton, and the guy deserved better.

Liverpool have still only managed 1 win out of the last 5 against us. We knocked them out of the League Cup earlier in the season and we have 3 clean sheets on the trot in the League so there's nothing to say we won't win again

f*cking hell, what ever happened to Torres. It still baffles me how a world class striker like that can turn into a mediocre player in the matter of a couple of years. Not like he's super old either.

My boss told me I had to deliver some stuff this morning, While driving to the place i saw a group of 4-5 Manchester City fans that have come to see the game, with jerseys on, i honked at them and yelled "Go City f*ck barça" They laughed and waved at me.

barsa has no chance wining el Clasico or the Barcelona derby against RCD Espanyol.
Since my team is in Second Division we get to play against FC Barcelona B on league games... Im waiting for the match against them in our field... It's going to be massacre day.
