I'm waiting for him to come in and tell us how good Soldado is. He missed some good chances today. And Adebayor was the only player to get a shot on target for Spurs today.

 

Adebayor > Soldado.

 

 

I'd definetly pick Adebayor over Soldado after that performance. Soldado could of easily had a hat trick today but he missed every chance.

It's going to be a f*cking struggle. My gf's parents are going away for the next 2 days, so now I have to choose between spending time with her and watching football. Hmm...

@jln22: I think Adebayor being restored into the side was the right thing to do though. He seems hungrier than anyone in your side to get himself a goal.

How do you all feel about the director of football position in general? I think it sucks. Let the manager build a side and manage it, and stop giving managers the "I didn't want these players" excuse. Top teams have never needed directors of football - SAF had David Gill do negotiations, but he picked the players. Wenger doesn't need one. Barca doesn't need one, City doesn't need one.

 

Just causes problems in more cases than it brings success.

Girish, why can't you do both? Can't you just spend some time with her, and then do your own thing for a bit and watch the football? I understand you have needs, but you can't just hump non stop. There needs to be a sex downtime, during which football can be watched. Then when Chelsea win, you can turn your euphoria and boner back on your GF and go wild. But you need to watch this game.

I know a story of someone who did manage to do both... live as well, I don't mean on the TV I mean actually watch a match and have sex at the same time... lucky bastard.

 

Before the match he was out with his mates getting a few jars before the game when they got talking to a few girls, they had the option of going off with the girls or going to the game, two of mates blew the girls off and got their numbers for later, the other guy thought f*ck it, typical City will end up getting beat anyway as this was back in the old Franny Lee/Maine Road days when we would have had a trophy room that would have burst if we got cups for cock ups (good book as well that). Anywho the guy who decided to get off with the girl was a little bit tipsy by now and they pair of them staggered back to her house and didn't realise where he was, after a few more drinks the pair of them went to bedroom which was in the attic conversion with a skylight in the roof, after a bit of foreplay the guy decided to try it on doggy style as he did he was greeted with the paradise of football fans, the skylight looked right on to the Maine Road pitch, so he got his end away and managed to watch the match as well (which we won)... lucky bastard.

 

For reference the house is just behind the roof of the Kippax (the big stand) in the top left of this picture and this was before they built the temporary "Gene Kelly" stand in the middle of the Kippax and The Plat Lane end (at the top)

It turns my stomach people trying to convince themselves that cheating is just part of the game. In fact the majority of those who do it, do so because it's mainly their team doing it.

 

I'm against diving but you just have to face that it happens all the time.

I don't recall saying it doesn't happen. My point is that by letting it slide then that form of cheating is gonna be considered okay to do. I sincerely hope that something is done about it in the near future, like a replay for the ref to look at and judge from a better angle or slowed down. I know plenty complain saying it'll slow the game down, but for how long? 10 seconds? Small price to pay.

 

@Hodgey: I probably wouldn't acknowledge it, it'd be quite a shaming situation.

If we're talking about football and sex, back when West Ham were in the Championship, we were playing Cardiff so I found a dodgey stream on the internet and I was making my girlfriend watch, she got bored and started giving me head, literally just as I came West Ham scored. It was brilliant.

Anyways, I haven't actually seen any of the weekends action yet. Gonna watch MOTD2 later, and then I might come in and start rambling about some decisions and goals that everyone finished talking about days ago. Looking forward to the game later, suppose I'd happy with a draw.

My plans for the game tonight have been somewhat scuppered, largely down to my own ignorance and idiocy. All week my sister had been saying that we'll go see my nan Monday night after my sister finishes work (she finishes at 8.30) to give her our presents, and I kept saying yh that's fine. Then it dawned on me yesterday that that's when Chelsea are f*cking playing. Can't really back out now because my nan already thinks I'm going, and she's 94 n it's Christmas n sh*t. Curses.

 

I'll catch the first half at least I suppose. Then I can listen to the commentary on my nan's telegraph machine when I get to hers.

I've done that a couple of times with work where I have promised to cover a shift only to realise later that Liverpool was on. Its sucks.
