f*ck, if Levy doesn't pull something from his magic bag, I think we'll end up badly this season.

Hahaha Levy is your problem. Not the solution.

Do you want Jurgen Klinsmann? He'll lose every game and tell you that it is because Spurs need 15 years to develop grass roots academies.

I AM SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO, BUT MY WEBCAM IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH.

Not quite sure why City are investing so much in an academy when them young players will never get a chance in the first team.

Their owners aren't going to own the club forever, they'd end up like Anzhi I feel if they don't think long term.

1. If the UEFA Overlords have their way then all clubs would be forced to go down that route, although a recent report I read on that states that the limit on players they want to enforce actually goes against EU Competition Law and the same guy who is challenging the law is the guy behind the Bosman case. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24333604

2. The owners do have a long term plan for the club and the local area as well, yeah they may well sell further down the line, but to be honest I can't really see that happening any time soon. They not only plan the Etihad Campus they are also planning to open up a huge shopping mall, conference and hotel complex as well. Which means that the council may get the hint and actually pull down that bloody Arndale Tower monstrosity (slightly unrelated I know, but I mean seriously...).

3. At the moment not many academy players are coming through, because although the current academy is good, it is becoming outdated which the new one will replace, but at the moment the club is going through a period of laying the groundwork of success (or buying titles as some would call it), once there has been a culture of success embedded in the club the graduates will have something to strive for. Football psychology 101.

Maybe more young players will come through the City academy when the new complex is built but when is that going to be? I agree, it seems like the owners are happy at the moment but it just depends if City can turn into the big club they want them to be and make enough money of course.

Make enough money? What you think these Arab Sheikhs invest in a club to make money?

Yeah there going to invest a billion pounds into a football club and make it back aren't they? Of course they're not. I'm not saying that but if City don't make enough money and be successful then why would they still invest? Look at Anzhi.

Fair point, but look at the Russian League, hardly makes you want to p*ss your pants with excitement, the Premier League is arguably one of the best if not the best league in Europe (and therefore the world).

I think the Mexican league is the best in the world.

What about Anzhi? Kerimov scaled down his investment because he lost quite a lot of his wealth in just 1 day and is suffering from health problems. He's still their owner and they now have a new stadium and fantastic youth facilities and are in place to progress organically. Their wage budget is still just a little under £1million per week I believe, which craps on most teams in England.

Besides, to try and compare a team from Dagestan -- a wartorn hellhole widely regarded as one of the most corrupt areas of Russia, let alone Europe -- with a team from Manchester is quite laughable.

Football on boxing day is always an interesting one:

BF1GXaVCQAEQZiG.jpg

Yes, United lost miserably that day, but where are Citeh....? :p

United lost because they were a completely new team. The Munich Air disaster had taken place just 3 years before that.

You are talking out of your backside. They finished 2nd that year and the Disaster happened over 5 years before.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post. I thought this forum auto-merged.

Actually been to both. Moss Side was just travelling through to Maine Road though so doesn't really count. But I got lost in Salford on the way to Old Trafford once and all I can say to your post is: fair point, well made

I have a feeling that we'll end up midtable this season and eventually with a pot cup in our trophy cabinet.

Moss Side is the definition of sh*t hole. Same with Openshaw really which is on a smaller scale.

Tricky game for City tonight at Leicester, what with their recent away record an' all.

And for everyone else... told you Messi will come to the Etihad.

He won't he'll probably be injured again.

E: Sorry for the City hate. Apologies to all the City fans in the footy desk.

REPORTED, FLAGGED, SPAM.

Looks like Leicester have failed to produce an upset.

Sunderland's attendance is embarrassing.

They don't deserve Premier League football, I've seen the Mackems leaving so early the matches of Sunderland, when they're losing.

Fairly straight forward 3-1 win, could be heading for 1 of 4 :)

Most of Spurs fans left after 85 minute, when we were already crushed.
