Hernandez was awesome, You can tell by his work rate & energy exactly what player he's going to be, He deserves more starts, especially with Rooney along side him, They would be a nightmare for defenders.

Glad Hughton decided against playing many first-choice players, Prem survival comes first. Nonetheless, pretty shoddy defending to concede the first goal, with the defence doing Arsenal's job and creating problems for themselves. Not sure how the second goal stood mind you, but it was a deserved win in the end for Arsenal.

MATT Gilks could be a surprise target for Arsene Wenger – despite shipping six in front of the Arsenal boss.

According to reports in London, the Premier League-winning Frenchman is considering a move for Gilks in January.

 

Arsenal have had goalkeeping issues for a long time, and spent most of the summer chasing – but missing out on – Fulham's Mark Schwarzer. Wenger wants a commanding presence between the posts to boost his title charge. And Gilks has apparently caught his eye, with the Seasiders No.1 turning in a number of good performances this season, particularly at Newcastle and Liverpool.

Bad day for us, it looks like our star man Charlie Adam is on his way out of the club:

 

 

Blackpool captain Charlie Adam will take the Seasiders to a Premier League arbitration court on Thursday over unpaid bonuses he says he is owed.

The 24-year-old midfielder says he has not been paid part of his contractual payments after the Seasiders avoided Championship relegation.

 

Manager Ian Holloway has distanced himself from the dispute.

"If there's a problem then that's none of my business," Holloway told BBC Radio Lancashire.

 

"That's between the club and one of the players and it'll be sorted out by arbitration by the sounds of it.

"If Charlie feels that way and the chairman feels that way and there's a dispute, then someone else has to sort it out and I'm just glad it's not me."

 

If Adam wins his case in London he may attempt to cancel his contract which still has 22 months to run.

That could allow him to become a free agent and mean Blackpool would risk losing the highly-rated midfielder to a rival club for nothing.

 

Just another case of players being greedy, he claims that we owe him a £20k relegation bonus from last season despite the fact that he was given a £500k promotion bonus. Its pathetic that the club are being taken to court of what is such a small amount. The most annoying part though is the fact that the club would lose out on a sizeable sum of money that we would get when the player moves on.

 

With Liverpool, Everton and Birmingham all rumoured to be lining sizable in Adam, the best scenario for us would be to win the court case and cash in come January.

 

On the upside, I did have the pleasure of meeting Avram Grant today, he doesn't seem to be as dull as everyone suggests.

Yes thats true but with bigger clubs who can offer much bigger wages sniffing around its unlikely that he would stay if he won the case. I can't see Charlie Adam staying with us on his £10k a week contract when he could be earning at least double that elsewhere.
