TommyMufc-Champs
Chelsea were on form, i was hoping Pompey would of held them to a draw. Well done Everton and great night for Spurs in both competitions. arsenal_fan
David James didn't do much favours to a chance of a England spot with that mistake for the first goal, afterall that is how Paul Robinson lost his spot! King Of Monra
It feels as if England has not had a great goalie since seaman, same goes for arsenal really. Waddy
Celtic have parted company with Tony Mowbrey. That was all a bit silly wasnt it when they paid West Brom all that money to get him... Chunk
Yeah Mowbrey got sacked, i think he deserved to get sacked he didn't do much. That might have something to do with the fact he was only in the job for 8 months.. But anyway, good to see us in the semis. I'll take a fit if we lose against Pompey though. Waddy
Rangers havent bought a new player for 2 years...their managers are not in a contract...they sell players to keep going all the time! Celtic have let out a 10 point gap with Rangers having games in hand! Now I dont know the financial situation of Celtic put thats pretty piss poor. Who would even want to go there? How much did Celtic pay West Brom to get Mowbrey and how much are they having to give him to fire him? JOSEPH X
Easily the worst season Gerrard's had since he turned pro and at the moment should not even be considered for a starting position in England's team as Waddy has mentioned. If he's not to careful he'll be watching the World Cup on telly like the rest of us . That just got me thinking which England players are playing well atm? Barry, Lampard, SWP, Walcott? Joe Cole can't even get into Chelsea's XI to play himself back into contention. I think Gerrard's safe because of the form of others. We have a shed load of injuries - Brown, A Cole, Lennon, Becks and even Ferdinand is touch and go. Terry's stinking right now, as is Downing and we haven't got a cast iron first team keeper. On current form Gary Neville could find his way onto the plane! Milner and Baines are playing well, but are they World cup class? Only Rooney and Crouch are on top of their game. It doesn't look good at all. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/706548-the-footy-desk-part-1/page/6/#findComment-1059841628 Share on other sites
Waddy
I think Gary Neville will be there, I also thinks Jags will make the plane. Midfield is where we have the problem like you say. I would deffo take SWP though, hes great for England and will annoy the sh*t out of other teams. Lampard is solid too. I think other places are up for grabs, I hope Fabio has the balls to pick players in form and not the 'regulars' Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/706548-the-footy-desk-part-1/page/6/#findComment-1059841644 Share on other sites
3minty3
Oustanding win for Chelsea today. Against a difficult team aswell. I think they now have a much greater chance of winning the league now, especially since their recent form will be very influential in the Man U game. Also Chelsea's title chances are looking even better with Arsenal only picking up a point against Birmingham. JOSEPH X
Lampard for England! 4 goals today. I better take a little of that back what I said earlier, lol. OG's doing well for UTD this season, that's 10 goals (as many as Berba) can't wait to see his latest on MOTD, I heard it was a classy finish. Seddo
Lampard for England! 4 goals today. I better take a little of that back what I said earlier, lol. Wouldn't get to carried away...2 pens, a tap in and a shot from the 6 yard box. Even Lampard has been no where near his best this season maybe both Stevie and Frank are saving themselves for a SA onslaught. TommyMufc-Champs
Yeah i agree with Seddo, 2 pens and a tap in and a 6 yard shot doesn't make him the best in the Prem. Got up at 2am to go to Wembley, my bus is setting off at 4am and it takes 6 hours to get there and probably more coming back. Ari Gold
Fantastic win for United, even without Rooney - mind you, Bolton aren't that flash of a side, but nonetheless it's fantastic to keep up the pace ahead of Chelsea. Not to mention the fact that Arsenal dropped crucial points at Birmingham. Who said that they had an easier run-in? Also, anyone see Ricardo Fuller's goal for Sunderland against West Ham? I found it breathtaking, to be honest, was a real cracker-jack. Same with Samir Nasri's against Birmingham. Good news for United as well, with Bayern Munich faltering 2-1 at home to title rivals Stuttgart. I hope they won't be carrying much confidence into the CL clash this week. This is his 6th season he has scored 20+ goals. 6 yard tap ins dont count anymore? Penalty's dont count as a goal? If that was a striker he would be a top striker right? He better be picked before Gerrard!! Arsenal really f*cked up their chances yesterday...2 horse race again? Read the f*cking post, did i say they didn't count? i just said don't get carried away. And i'm aware of his goal scoring stats. Oh and Capello plays Gerrard on the left for England while Lampard is in the center, so i doubt the pair will be competing for the same spot. saintdave
What a win for us at Wembley, 4-1! SIKKS66
Obviously Hargreaves > Lampard and Gerrard. Sadly, I think Hargreaves may struggle to get into the England team now. There's 6 games left in the league and he aint registered for the Champions League anymore. Will 5 games (Fergie wont return him for Chelsea I reckon) be enough to prove to Capello he's back in top, top condition and form? Not too sure tbh. Waddy
I think it would be really unfair for Hargreaves to go to the WC. I cant see him being picked anyway, he will only get injured. Isnt he out of contract in the summer? He should be concentrating on getting a new club, not many will give him a contract unless its pay as you play. Good win for City last night...Its going all the way!
