The United game was awesome. Our seats were behind the goals where United were shooting at in the second half, only nine rows from the pitch; Lingard's second goal was fantastic. Brilliant atmosphere, it seemed like every United fan in Australia had packed into the ground (a full 84,000 or so). I can't predict at all whether I'll even see a United game ever again, so, forgive me if I'm a little overexcited to have seen them play right before my eyes. biggrin.gif

 

If it wasn't good enough, our flight back into Melbourne this evening coincided with Liverpool's arrival (they're playing a friendly against Melbourne Victory on Wednesday). They were flooding into the team bus just as we were walking out of the arrival area. There were a good 200 or so Liverpool supporters storming the team as they were moving into the bus; I got close enough to pat both Steven Gerrard and Kolo Toure on the head, and, strangely, those two moments were probably a bigger highlight of my weekend than the United game. Seeing Ian Rush in person was p nice, as well.

 

I'll put up some photos from the game if anyone's interested (no one probably is but I'm still excited tounge.gif)

You're right Stefche, it was good atmosphere yesterday for a pre-season match. Great to see so many Aussie fans passionate about United and football in general.

 

I'm Expecting to hear some transfer news tomorrow on the Cesc Fabregas bid. Oh and of course, Mr angry and confused Wayne Rooney transfer which is just boring bored.gif

Napoli and Real Madrid have come to an agreement on Higuain for €35m, and Albiol has moved to Napoli for €11m, and Callejon has gone for €10m. All that's left is find a replacement for Gonzalo, extend Cristiano's contract, and get rid of Coentrao

Kinda suprised by Naples' raid on Madrid. Thought Higuain was set for Arsenal.....then again, so was Jovetic not so long ago. Seems like we're the only ones getting sh*t done in England.

@Stef: I must have missed your post, glad you had a good 'un. I didn't manage to watch the game as I was stuck in traffic near the f*cking City stadium but it sounded like a good game with a great atmosphere. Good to see RVP grab himself a goal. icon14.gif

I thought Spurs would challenge for 2nd last year but that didn't happen. I reckon it'll be tight again for top 4 between Arsenal and Spurs whilst I think Chelsea have a change of battling for the title.

on the subject of badges what are the stars for on city's badge? they never won the european cup 3 times, which what i assume the stars on some badges with stars on refer to

I used to think it was your team's fifa rating a few years ago but it hasnt been changed to 5. tounge.gif

 

huddersfield town have them too but they might refer to the 3 league wins in the 1920s

hah if united had a star for every league win it would look stupid tounge.gif
