What a desperate, desperate man. Although, potentially losing 140m I'd do the same desperate things too. To put it simply, he has a VERY thin argument in this, and is 99.9% likely that it will end up in our favour. The big fear at the moment is if Hicks will find refinancing through someone, apparently from Mills Financial. The loans are called to be payed back tomorrow. If Hicks can refinance, then we're f*cked.

 

The ownership takeover with NESV is practically signed, done and dusted. However Hicks and Gillett are trying everything in the book to drag it out longer, find a new offer, and thus walk away with money. If NESV goes through and becomes our owners.. well say goodbye to 144m and all your businesses, fat c*nt. It's the least you deserve.

 

This ownership issue simply makes me shake my head. No football club deserves to go through this, I wouldn't even wish this upon the "other red team" either. Absolutely destroys the health of the sport.

 

EDIT - Oh yeah, and that 1bn suit against RBS just confirms how much of a buffoon this man is if you didn't figure already. He wants 1bn from RBS, which is British taxpayer money. Therefore, he's indirectly f*cking with all British taxpayers.

Of course, and the Serbian government has to rightfully punish the idiots for not only acting like monkeys but also for the defamation Serbia's name in an international arena, and they've said that they'll do this, which I support with open arms. I don't, however, think that the team should be punished through a ban or anything; they were the victims just as much as the Italians were and shouldn't have anything to do with the punishments handed out to the idiots who caused the ruckus.

 

Although, as Andy said, there HAVE been worse football incidents in the past where people were actually injured and killed, and as far as I know there wasn't as much attention paid to it as this one. I'm also curious as to why the Italian authorities didn't apprehend the hooligans at first, and rather waited for the referee to postpone the game himself before making arrests...

 

Nonetheless, what's happened has happened, and sadly we can't change anything. Then again, there are idiots and hooligans all over Europe; the English had their time in the sun for hooliganism, as well.
