Haha! About 5 minutes ago I read Utd reject £10m offer for Rooney on The Guardian website. Read a bit of an article about Barca needing the Fabregas money, and when I clicked back the headline read, Utd reject £20m offer for Rooney.

 

Sounds to me that there's some haggling going on right now. Rooney is worth more than £20m with that long left on his contract, so I reckon there should be a swap involved. Tbh, I can only think of a couple of Chelsea players that aren't worth that sort of deal - if it's Luiz or Mata then I would bite Chelsea's hand off.

 

Utd need midfielders like Mata and Luiz, and Chelsea need a striker like Rooney - if either of those Chelsea players are not part of Jose's plans, this could be on. £20m in the bank and Utd could bump up the money for Fabregas and Fellaini.

Not the FA Cup, all the other stuff like Champions League, Europa League, Premier League via Sky etc we get, just the FA Cup via ITV we don't... Or as it is here in Scotland, STV, or as it should be known because they are a bunch of nationalists S(NP)TV.

 

That's why I was mighty p*ssed a couple of seasons ago when we finally won something and Council TV weren't showing it here.

I think that pretty much confirms that there's not going to be any player swapping. Also, given the fact that we didn't get into a bidding war with PSG for Cavani, it seems that we'll only be bidding a certain amount of money for Rooney - take it or leave it. The Chelsea board has certainly learned their lesson and will not overpay for any player. Or at least, that's the vibe that I'm getting.

Lol 10M plus Mata? You're having a laugh! No way in hell would we do that. Mata has been our best player for the last 2 seasons. 10M plus Luiz I could see as potentially happening, although still unlikely. But Mata? Please. Rooney plus 10M for Mata would be more like it. Because it's Chelsea. Even if we don't buy anyone for the next 4 years, there will be rumours of big spending/signings every transfer window.

And United apparently approached us with an offer for Fabregas? Really? I think Fabregas made it clear he was going to remain with Barca for a long time when he left Arsenal two years ago.

 

Sure United need a midfielder but Chelsea having another forward, it just does not seem right.
