Madrid to do the same, with players on board like Navas and Fernandinho to replace lesser players like Barry and Nasri and giving players like Yaya more freedom to attack, City have every chance in my opinion of being up there with Bayern as one of the favourites in Europe this coming season.

Watching SkySports news, guy saying Fabregas says he wants to stay, but if Barca want to sell him he's happy to leave. Bit confusing to me.

 

Can definitely see him going to united.

He is not going to united because:

 

A) £25 million is nowhere near enough for a player of his standards. Especially considering he is at his peak age in his career.

 

B)Arsenal get 50% of Fabregas selling fee. Barca would never sell Fabregas unless it was a huge offer.

 

C) He doesnt want to play with United. He said he can only picture himself playing with either Barca or Arsenal.

Why is that? Not disagreeing or havin' a go or anything, just curious as to why you think that.

PSG lost to Barcelona on aggregate in the quarter-finals. (if I'm not mistaken) City couldn't make out of the group stage two years in a row.

 

I know Dortmund didn't make out of the group in the season before last's tournament, so this isn't a guaranteed thing, but I just don't think Pelligrini can turn it around in one season. Not when Ligue 1 is easier schedule than the Premier League.

City have been in the group of death two years in a row. If I recall correctly PSG contested against Dynamo Kyiv, Zagreb and Porto last season.

 

The first time 'round we got 10 points so it wasn't as if we weren't up to it. The second stab at it (last season) we were piss-poor in general, got away with it in England, found out in Europe. And Mancini's 3-at-the-back formation killed us at times.

 

I honestly do believe it will be better this year, even if on 29th of August we're dropped into the thick of it again.

It usually closes 31st August at midnight, unless there's some special circumstance like that date being a weekend day or a bank holiday or something. That's the date for all the major leagues anyways, Spain, Germany, England, Italy, France.

Thing is though, City can't complain about being in hard groups since they're not seeded. I expect City do better but no further than the Quarter finals. I think all the English teams will do fairly bad.

Exactly. Why keep a player who wants to leave? Maybe we are hoping Chelsea launch a £15M plus Mata bid. That's probably what we are doing, trying to get more money out of Chelsea because we know they will pay it.

I think your probably right, chelsea can afford to offer more It's just business on Man UTD's part.

Since the £54million Cavani deal it pays to hold out for more cash. Two weeks ago there was talk of Cavani going to chelsea for £40million, which at the time seemed like a great offer. Who knows, another team might table a better offer now?.
