If you ban debt or make clubs run to within a certain budget, then you effectively admit the fact that the big clubs will always be at the top table. Everyone seems to forget that huge imbalances make the league more exciting, and they make the league more watchable. Gulfs in anything, be it class or monetary value, will always increase attendances. @Joseph: Actually Man City's transfer spending is only a million or so more than Chelsea's was when they bought the league, accounting for inflation. Man United aren't really weighed down per se, because of their huge merchandising revenue around the globe. However Aston Villa and Liverpool have debt which I have to agree is not at all healthy. I'm pretty sure they would have tightened and improved their tests after recent incidents. Can't see why they're going to court to block the sale though, they have no money and keeping things going on for longer is only going to cause an even greater loss of money. @norniron, i'm not to fussed about the internationals at the mo'. I'd love to see Northern Ireland qualify. Having said that, I'd like to see all the home nations qualify but unfortunately its not gonna happen. Wales have looked like fish out of water so far and if Craig Levine keeps playing stupid formations like 6-4-0 (the formation Scotland played last night) then the Scots are screwed. Northern Ireland should go through providing luck is on their side. As for England, we'll qualify with ease, at the moment Montenegro look like our biggest rivals but they're hardly a force to be reckoned with. What's Carlos doing these days, 'cause I think we could do with him back at UTD. Also, I didn't know Hicks had taken the case to the high court (£144m loss = no-brainer, really). If he wins his case, LFC will more than likely go into administration and lose nine points. Don't know for sure if JW Henry will buy the club if that happens.
