It wouldn't surprise me now. He's one of the very best in the world, and Madrid showed their confidence by giving him a second season after only a Copa Del Rey in the first, but this is fast turning into a disaster now. They're out of the title race and the Champions League is looking unlikely too unless they improve. Casillas is also a legend for the club and to treat him in this way is going to frustrate and anger a lot of people, within the dressing room and the board room.

 

I'm starting to get the feeling that by doing this though, he may actually want out of there. Depending on when he leaves, I can still see him taking over from Fergie at Man United.

Apparently Sturridge having a medical today, could be a great buy for us although once again a little pricey.

I rate Sturridge and think he's a talented footballer, but his main problem can be that he's a little too greedy at times. For someone who's merely a decent player right now and is still developing, he's not really earned that right yet and needs to be more of a team player. Depending on the price though, he could be a good buy.

 

I still think someone like Huntelaar is exactly what you need though. Suarez is excellent but the goalscoring burden is one him too much. His best role would be if you dropped him back in behind the striker. That way, he could become more involved in the general play of games and wouldn't be frustrated or left out at all when Liverpool aren't in control. He'd also link up very well with a deadly striker and you'd score a lot more goals. Either way though, you need another source of goals in case Suarez struggles at any point this season.

Sturridge is a good player and I think he exactly what Liverpool need to be honest. You cannot rely on Saurez and piling the pressure on him every game, 2 very good strikers, should be a much better second half of the season.

Huntelaar just signed a new contract with Schalke so that's him out of everyone's January wishes. As for Sturridge's greediness that might be something we need, sometimes we can overplay the ball and you just thinking somebody have a dig and Sturridge won't shy away from that. Something we lack in attack is pace so he's going to bring that to the table as well.

If Liverpool want strikers I head about this guy who plays for West Ham, Andy Susan... no not Susan, Carroll, I knew it was a girls name, anyway I heard he was quite good and would probably do well at Liverpool.

What'll be interesting is what happens at Chelsea if Sturridge does leave. They may then decide to sign a new striker with one gone, and that striker could potentially be Falcao. Their attack would be ridiculously good if they were able to sign him, so I'm hoping they won't get him.

A disgrace is pushing it. I feel that they are entitled to play that sort of football if it suits them, but for me the problems come when they start to harm other sides and they actually start to cause a high number of injuries. I'm not talking about the odd accidental case which can't be avoided; it often seems to feel like a regular occurence with them. I'm all for old fashioned football if it works for them, but not to the detriment of another sides squad.

I can't give any respect to pulis, fair play to stoke for doing what they can to stay up, but he is a huge hypocrite. Always angry at officials and referees but never takes responsibility for what his players do. He's currently moaning about Fellaini's short three match ban for touching shawcross's head but had nothing to say for the same ban being handed out to shawcross for smashing a young lad's leg in two.

I've got doubts about Sturridge, I was hoping we'd get a player that could 'hit the ground running' he might take a while to settle in, or it might turn out to be a fantastic buy, you never know with this game.

Hope we put an offer in for Walcott though, as a LFC fan, surely he'd want to join us. Better too many options, than too few I'd say.

What pisses me off is how 'outraged' Pulis has been regarding physicality in the media recently, i'm not being funny but he needs to give his head a wobble. Really annoyed me how Pulis made a complaint about the length of Felli's ban, even more so when you consider that Shawcross practically made it impossible for Fellaini to be involved at corners with his bear hug style, so yeah f*ck off Stoke. Their fans are bellends aswell, booing Aaron Ramsey when Shawcross done him over.

 

Waddy, why do Stoke have to play like they do? Do you realise they have the the 8th highest net spend in the Premier league, higher then Swansea, West Brom, Everton and even Arsenal who all can play excellent football. In reality, Stoke are underachievers and Pulis just isn't a good coach.

 

On another note i'm getting f*cking pissed off with ref's this season, i can't believe Osman's great header didn't stand for Anichebe's 'foul', i'm not one of these paranoid fans but Everton don't half get hard done by on alot of 50/50 decisions, yesterday for instance was f*cking farcical, 3 big decisions the ref had yesterday and he got every one wrong.

I just think the tactic Stoke use gets under the skins of many clubs, and it works well. Yeah, Okay they are dirty and try and kick other teams off the pitch, its only in the same way Chelsea parked the bus every single game in last years CL. They play not to lose, and it works well, they also annoy the sh*t out of the other clubs, which also works. Shawcross won the Fellaini battle didn't he? Stoke may have spent a bit but they havent spend on single players have they? No world class players, just team players.

We just didn't do enough, especially in the first half. Valencia is becoming too predictable, nowhere near his form last season, but glad to see Vidic back. Carrick is definitely underrated; he was by far the best man on the field for United today and he gets called sh*t, despite putting in a good shift week in week out. The RVP and Rooney partnership didn't work today.

Now I've had my rant, I can't be too annoyed I suppose. 4 points clear at Christmas is not too shabby and Swansea have been on form recently and it isn't an easy place to go and win when only 2 teams did that last year.

Michael Laudrup is hell of a manager (and probably one of the worlds best players) he took a relegation close Getafe to the spanish cup final out of nowhere and now he's doing extremely well at Swansea. Michu & Pablo Hernandez were both cheap as hell and have probably been the transfers of the season so far. Eye for talent, his team always plays fired up and hes very tactically aware... all the signs of a future genius of a manager.
