Mand'alor
I don't think we need a player like Van Der Vaart but if he can be got on the cheap for under 10 million off Madrid I think he would be worth a punt. He would be perfect for our 4-3-3 games. Plus we've seen what Madrid rejects go on to do.

DreamsLieHere
You were no where near in signing him, it was all media rubbish. Yeah his agents have earned their money this summer. I thought it was nailed on at one point he was going to Barca to replace Xavi eventually. This Mourinho Madrid side is starting to look pretty mean, he'll be spoilt for choice. Can't even think of what formation he'd play. Possibly: -------------Casillas---------------- Ramos Carvalho Albiol Marcelo -----------Xabi Alonso------------- ----Ozil------------------di Maria-- ---------------Kaka----------------- -------C. Ronaldo------------------ -------------------Higuain---------- Or something like that. You've also got Khedira, the Diarras, Canales, Gago and van der Vaart that can fill a number of them midfield slots. A few of these cannot be at Madrid much longer, surely. I can see Mourinho wanting to get more out of Benzema who is a strong finisher in the mould of Drogba so he'll offer more depth up front. I don't even think they've finished yet. They clearly need a new left back unless Mourinho aims on taking Marcelo to the next step up. Good formation. I'd have a 4-2-3-1 IMO for more defensive cover, although I'd have Pepe for Albiol. Both are fine though. 4-2-3-1 Same back four -----Xabi Alonso----Khedira---------- -Cristiano Ronaldo-Kaka-Ozil/di Maria- -----------Higuain/Benzema-------- Lass was one of Real's best players last season, perhaps an unsung hero behind the heroics of Cristiano, Xabi and Higuain? He tackles hard, has explosive pace, if he stays he would be in my team but... I guess he's gonna be part of the trimming of the Real squad. Ozil is able to play on the left, he's left footed, speedy, can pass, he's basically a German Iniesta. I'd have Ozil over di Maria. Ozil has proven himself as one of the best players in the World Cup, while di Maria, while he has played for Argentina, hasn't really shone as one of the standout talents. We shall see what happens though during the season.

3minty3
As a Chelsea fan I am very suprised by todays result. I predicted a 2-1 or 3-1 result for Chelsea at best and could easily see them drawing. Just hope we can sustain 3-0 or 2-0 wins throughout the season. Lethal Nizzle
Both my teams won as I sat with my girlfriend begging her to check the scores at a family BBQ. Cardiff won 4-0, Bellamy marking his debut with a 35-yard free-kick and a booking. My brother went and the whole place erupted when he scored. Ollofinjana apparently made an amazing performance as a holding midfielder. Could be a strong player for us this year. Then I heard Spurs also won a tough game. Didn't hear much about it, but will watch both matches in awe tonight on MoTD and TFLS.

He may be forced out of the squad with the inclusion of Bellamy, also with Whittingham on hand, it'll be hard but I'd love to see more of him. Great player. TommyMufc-Champs
Well what can I say, Chelsea and Arsenal both won 6-0. They left there mark and we need to tomorrow, no offense to Wigan and Blackpool, Fulham are better team IMO. We probably wont win 6-0 tomorrow but all I'm asking from the lads Is to play some attractive football.
