Just saw the Tottenham win on MoTD, glad to see two stone-wall penos denied

knew something like that would happen with Foy, if you are from merseyside and do not loathe united, you don't survive wink.gif

PS - in case some of you get antsy about what I said it is meant as a joke

to be fair nani was never gonna get that penalty cos of his reputation - like suarez

Agreed. To be honest I've always highly detested Nani for many reasons.

Oh yeah, seen the City highlights there. How did they get a penalty for that?

Nani is a good player, and, contrary to what has been said lately, he's consistent. It's just that his tenure at United seems to have taken a wrong turn somewhere. He's unhappy, the club's unhappy, Fergie's unhappy, and the boiling point is closing in.

He is good, no arguement, but I think you and I are using different dictionaries hermano. Nani is not consistent, not in the slightest, his whole time at united he has been the type of player who is always an unknown factor.

Either he will have a great game, set up 2 goals and/or scare a screamer from miles out (like against chelsea last season, that is the good point of Nani) but he does not do it enough, he reminds me of Ronaldo, before Ronaldo became Ronaldo, cos back then Cristiano would keep the ball be selfish and try silly shots 9occassionally coming off) just like nani, accept Ronaldo never got as many assists as nani. But Nani jsut has not progressed to the next level like Ronaldo did, I wasn't expecting him to become Ronaldo but I was expecting, more.

nani is a bit like rooney in terms of inconsistency, he will put in quite a few good games on the trott but then suddenly melt down and have a load of real stinkers, excpet his bad periods seem to last longer than Rooney's and his good periods last shorter. t has reached the point where enough is enough because he is now 25, nearly 26, he should have grown up as a footballer and got better, he still has a lot of growing to do so i won't say he has no future, but he has to improve, fast, particularly in his decision making because at times he can be stupidly selfish, keep the ball when he has no business doing so, and try to shoot from a silly position or cut in and shoot instead of a simple cross that would gift a goal (usually to rooney, if nani was better at decision making rooney would have a lot more goals to his name, no doubt)

His penalty against Gala was the epitamy of nani, selfish, always wants the glory id he is dead cocky (trying to out-do ronny with so many stutters and a soft shot not unlike van persie's against southampton (in terms of the shot only)) Nani is cocky and selfish yet does not have the skills to justify being so, not for United anyway, he needs to be the star, at a lesser club he would be and he would be more justified in being selfish and cocky. His attitude needs a rework, his decision making needs improving and then he will be a very fine footballer, because if he improves those 2 things, consistency will come

Personally, I wouldn't say he is consistent, but I agree that he is unhappy at the club and I can definately see him going in January or the next transfer window, therefore we will need a replacement when the time comes.

This pretty much sums up Nani's time at United. He can play games where he is Boss and score a couple of fantastic goals and set up others - such as the Bayern Munich game, Wolves game, Chelsea game, Blackburn game a couple of seasons ago...

I agree with this. I admit he has got better over the last season or so, but he isn't quite there yet. He knows how good of quality his crosses are - just look at his cross that set up Rooney's goal of the season against Citeh. We know that he has a brilliant shot on him with power and accuaracy, but he isn't consistent enough in that department to keep having a shot when he gets the ball within 30 yards of the goal. I think he needs to keep it more "simple" as he is always wanting to outdo players and make them look like idiots, when in all fairness, he ends up losing the ball and giving it to the other player - like he did yesterday that lead to the first goal.

As you kids may or not know, I barely follow the Premier League, nowadays. I keep in touch - or else I would be even more ostracized in this topic than I am - but I don't follow it consistently. I'm judging Nani by his performances in the national team, where he works like clockwork, in my opinion, and some of his old performances in United. I actually wanted to watch the Spurs - United game yesterday, but wound up not having the opportunity to. Missed the Juve - Roma as well. It's a pity that he is underperforming in United.

You can't call a player consistent, when you don't follow the league they play in. If you say you only see Nani on international duty, that would be a handful of matches each year and you can't call a player consistent when you watch them play a few games for their country, instead of them playing 30+ games for their club, where they are inconsistent.

Blackpool seem to have gone downhill recently which is a shame. They were brilliant at the start of the season. Would love it if they got promoted to the PL again this season.

Chelsea were excellent yesterday, showed a lot of class. I think they are going to be very difficult to beat this season, Torres is looking back to his very best. Arsenal still showed well though.

Liverpool were very good for the result too, at last Saurez got his head down and played instead of acting, he is a class striker when on form.

Everton again were fantastic, I was more happy that Felli and Merro were linking up really well in the midfield and Osman getting on the score sheet, just so worried if anything happens to Jelavic though, he is outstanding. 12 goals in 13 prem games now, hes a beast. TITLE CHALLENGE ON!

Come on VILLA!

Those American owners are rubbing off on Fergie, the whole Lackus-Ironicus gene that Americans have has become contagious.

PS Prome, case to explain your Siggy, I didn't know you swung our way sly.gif

Great result for Liverpool, the Goals finally went in. Spurs beating United, great weekend compared to the last. Hopefully this strong result will kick start our season. smile.gif

What are the odds on Saurez finishing the season as top goal scorer?

He has scored one hat trick, Champ. I wouldn't get too excited. He had something like 13 shots off target or something within the first 4 games of the season. lol.gif

Saurez has the skill to finish as the leagues top goal scorer, no doubt about it. I certainly wouldnt bet against it. I just dont think he has the service for him to finish top.

An interesting rumour involving Thomas Ince moving to Man Utd has been floating around our place: Link

I can't see it happening, but I'd certainly hope that if £6 million is all of the cash we'd receive, we'd at least get a player sent our way as well.

Is it? I thought that was a normal celebration, like when you catch the bus just in time or when they have grated cheese at subway left, no? just me? ok that may explain a bit.

Mouriniho's touchline loony run was a better celebration imo. spurs were overdue, we had a bit of bad luck but hell over the past 20-odd years they ahve had so much bad luck at OT they were one step away from getting struck by lightning

I'm a United fan as well mate, but come on, the sheer emotion there makes it a brilliant shot. You can't deny how powerful an image it is; not your average hand shake or weak hands aloft. It looks like he's just avenged his father or something...

missed the point slightly, if you read on I expressed how I felt spurs were overdue.

Plus also take into account i am insane (hence big celebrations being the norm for me, even for trivial things)

it was a good celebration for winning a single match yes, but not even in the top 10 of celebrations I have seen (8 of them for a lot lot less)

but then again i know some insane people

it is actually pretty similar celebration to when a golfer gets an eagle (or a birdie for some) or wins a tournament, or gets a good finish, a giant fist pump and hug the nearest ally, a celebration we have seen tiger do many many many times over the years, but not so many in recent years, not as many as before

AVB's a beast.

not as much as Jose, his celebrations were much better personally,

if I was manager you would see that celbration for every goal

or maybe every pass if I felt like it

why? because I am nutty as a squirrel turd wink.gif

anyway good for spurs, they deserved to end their hoodoo after all their misfortune over the years

suarez will not get the golden boot, next week he will be same old hits-the-post suarez

AVB's celebration was rather touching. You can understand why he felt the way he did. Despite how p*ssed off I am that United lost, I am glad to see the guy happy, due to all the sh*t he went through at Chelsea. The guy deserves some luck for a change and he sure got it yesterday.

Manchester United winger Nani will be offered an Old Trafford escape route by Juventus.

Sources in Turin say that the bid will not come close to United’s £25m valuation and that Juventus believe they could land Nani for a cut-price £12m.

I would not want to give up on nani just yet, if he books up his ideas he could be a hell of a player, he is still quite young but he needs to do better than he is doing and he needs to get there faster
