Is it just me or is the Greece-Russia game not on telly? Got tennis on BBC1 and a film on ITV1.

Yeah eventually spotted it. Turned telly on for the 5pm game and got confused until i realised both were 7.45. Who were the two teams ages ago that just took it easy so both could progress to the next round? Sweden and Denmark?

Tis head to head so at the moment Russia and Greece are going through. Actually it's points and then head to head and then goal difference. But as points are level it'll move to head to head.

Poland have been really poor tonight, some of the worst set pieces I've ever seen. Don't like the Greeks but you can't say they don't give their all.

German efficiency will show a better footballing result in the long run over the Greeks determinence to over expend their players for a short term gain. The Greeks will go 1-0 up in the first ten minutes as they will throw everyone forward and leave no-one in defense, but then ze Germans will swiftly introduce austerity measures (greater possession) to punish the Greeks for pushinng to many players forward. The final score will be 5-1 Germany.

 

E: it's a lot funnier in a Henry Kissenger. At least I think so.

Nah it's just a fictional stadium based in Brazil from the game.

 

I think Greece are getting a bit of unfair stick, they play a defensive/counter attacking game and it's worked for them. One of Germany's main strength is the speed of their counter attacks but they may find it a bit harder as i doubt Greece will be to adventurous. They also had a strong qualifying campaign.

 

Also in 2004 they beat Portugal twice, France and the Czechs got a draw against Spain. Built up on their defence, fully deserved winners imo.

Greece got through Group A? Somehow, someway football amazes me time after time. At the start of this tournament i was convinced Czech and Russia would fairly easily get through the group but Greece dont play anywere near exciting free flowing football but they sure as hell grind out results.

I don't feel bad for Russia at all to be honest. They had a great opportunity to secure a place in quarters when playing against Poland and guess what they blew it, just like they always do. They are way too inconsistent, 4:1 vs Czech Rep., then a draw and now they lost to Greece lol, they had it coming. I do feel bad for Poland though, they did pretty good this time, would have been nice to seem them go through the group stage.

Well every pitch looks sh*t compare to St. James Park. But with Anfield, the grease dripping from Carrolls hair ain't done you any favors.
