Everton did get a cracking buy with Jelly-Vich, all the Rangers fans I know told me, between tears I might add (you know selling best player, screwed by the Taxman), that they were sick as a parrot when he left but they understood why.

I also see that some sections of the press are trying to pull the race card on Hodgson with the whole Ferdinand thing confused.gif ...ffs didn't take the press long to get on his back for a load of bollocks. It's obviously the whole Terry thing, hence the 'footballing reasons', that is they won't get along... still no excuse for Richards mind.

Do not worry for even one little moment, the last thing we need is to have Richards play for england and get injured (Said from an Irishman's point of view tounge2.gif )

What a load of bollocks. Do you kids not ever get tired of the PROVE YOURSELF IN THE EPL bullsh*t. I heard the same about Kun Aguero, David Silva, Juan Mata, De Gea. Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world, it's not the best no but it's certainly up there with Spain & England. Kagawa is a f*cking beast and any team should be happy to score him, he's the type of player who can lift a team on his own and one who never ever gives up.

Alright big guy, steady on before you hurt someone lol.gif

The difference between the EPL and the other top leagues in Europe is that "lesser" teams in the EPL are quite strong. Some of the results this season (United 2-3 Blackburn, Sunderland 1-0 City, Liverpool 0-1 Wigan) prove that. Alright, there may be weak teams in other leagues who pose a threat, but none so like the ones in the EPL.

I think it's also quite telling that when Hazard mentioned he was going Chelsea instead of utd, a lot of utd fans were sporting that he had to prove himself in the EPL because he was only a good in the French League, but with Kagawa, he's a dead cert. Keep in mind from 2008-2010 Dzeko got to be the second highest + the highest goalscorer in the Bundesliga, yet this season went 11 games without scoring.

That's also not true, Zaragoza (beat zidanes madrid in copa), Betis (floor barcelona most meetings), Levante (one of the only teams with a positive win rate against mourinho's madrid), Deportivo, Vallecano , Sporting Gijon (ended jose mourinhos 9 year unbeaten at home record) almost always put up a big game against Real Madrid/Barcelona (tend to win aswell) You might not recognise the names i've just said but trust me in saying they are on par with the lower end PL teams too.

A good player will be good in any league providing they find the correct team to slot into. Dzeko was perfect in his Bundesliga team, Lewandowski is perfect in Dortmund, RVP at Arsenal, Messi at Barcelona, Ronaldo at Madrid, Rooney at united. It's about the team, not the league. Hazard is a fantastic footballer with very high technical skill... he could be in any country and it wont change anything, if hes in the wrong team though he simply won't be scoring goals but that doesn't detract from his high quality ability. Shevchenko is a good example. Dzeko might not have ended top scorer, infact i think he's a waste of space at Man City, but he did score the goal that gave City the chance to win the title.

EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga are the best leagues in the world, i'm not gonna name one as the best as it will start a riot of pointless arguments. They're all very high quality and they're all damn good leagues and you can be sure that if a player devastates one of those leagues he's more than capable of doing it to the others providing the right team comes along ;-)

I hope Kagawa slots into United perfectly and shows the world just how brutal his one touch can be.

Right, so by this logic, you won't rule out Kagawa is maybe only good because of the way he slotted into Dortmund?

As for Dzeko, if you really think about, he is good because with all of our smaller players up top (Aguero, Tevez, Silva) he allows the wingers to put crosses in with his height, plus he scores quite important goals (Usually during one nillers) for City.

SkySports saying City are one of a few clubs looking Marco Verratti, have to admit I've never heard of him...would anyone here be able to recommend him?

Don't know to much about him myself but he's a deep lying playmaker, similar to the likes of Alonso and Pirlo. I believe Juve and Milan are in for him as well.

The Prem proven thing is a crap, how many Prem players have moved around within the same league and not worked out at the new team. You could probably get a list of players of failed Prem players as long as the failed imports.

Just read that the new Villarreal boss has died of a heart attack just a day after he was named as the boss, only 54 as well. Also Defoe's dad has died today as well, could put his mentality for the Euro's in to question.

Less then 24 hours after he was made couch sad.gif, he's had a sh*t decade, his wife died in 2002, his son died in 2008 and his dad died in 2010. Despite that he was a good coach for Gijon.

Terrible news sad.gif he was actually the coach of Sporting Gijon who beat Mourinho and ended his 9 year unbeaten at home run which handed Barcelona La Liga.

So Euro 12 starts today. I really expect Poland to do well this tournament. Extremely underrated side imo. Plus their group is probably the easiest group in the history of this tournament.

As for the co-host Ukraine, no way they will make it out of that group.

I have a good feeling about the poles, Lewandowski should get them out that group

I've got a gut feeling that Poland will turn the rest of their group into a heaping pile of sauerkraut, but I could be wrong considering that group A looks about as evenly spread as butter on toast.

By the way, what's the main, premature excuse for England doing sh*te this tournament around?

I've actually got £10 on Poland to win the entire thing. They've definitely got a squad capable of going far yet so many people doubt them. I hope they don't flop tonight tounge.gif Oh and I entered a sweep stake at work and i got England at random... f*ck.

I remember drawing Greece in the Euro 2004 sweepstakes at work, i was gutted and i got laughed at tounge.gif.

I actually drawn Italy and Serbia for the 2006 World Cup sweepstakes. We hadn't done them after that, people may as well have just given me the money straight away.

Indeed.

That group A is hard to predict, Russia had a decent qualifying campaign, Greece were unbeaten in their's and although they don't score many they don't let too many in either and so could be quite a task too overcome. The Czech's weren't to bad but were nothing special and Poland who haven't really been tested in a serious competitive match recently although have had some good results in the friendlies.

Could swing so many ways. Looked at as the worst group but just watch it come out as the best.

@OptaSeddo - 3: Poland have lost their opening match of the last 3 tournaments they've been involved in. Nervous.

Lewandowski is a boss player. Would love to see him one more year in Dortmund but I doubt it. He's either going to the Mancs or Bayern.
