So if we have Marin, Mata, Hazard, Hulk and De Bruyne we should have plenty of creativity. If there was one thing we were lacking last season, and we were lacking a lot of things, I'd say the main thing was creativity. We seem to be going for wingers/forwards, so I wonder if we'll also go for a central midfielder like a Modric. I'd love to see us hijack the Kagawa deal. biggrin.gif

Well Kagawa looks to be a good signing for utd anyways, but I also think you guys could do with another top class centre back seeing as how you always have injuries to Vidic and Rio, and let's face it you don't have amazing cover. When those 2 aren't in the team you do look really vulnerable. Smalling and Jones are good, but I don't think they're top class yet and they won't be for at least another 2-3 years imo. And Evans is pretty shocking, it amazes me Ferguson puts so much faith in him when he is so liable for a mistake especially in the big games, he's just a player I don't rate at all.

Totally agree on the Evans point, Stu, literally don't see anything good about him. I've heard De Bruyne's name being mentioned but what's he like? Can't recall seeing him play?

Johnny Evans, he plays for Northern Ireland FFS, nuff said. Having players like him in my country's team is why I choose to support the RoI instead.

Kagawa close to joining utd then...wonder how he'll do.

Evans played good last season, a remarkable improvement. Probably United's most improved player. I think having a world class guy like Rio next to him helped a bit mind.

Kagawa! *off to buy a Japan shirt*

I agree with you there. He has improved a hell of a lot since the season before. Vidic being injured is the best thing that could have happened to Evans. I just hope Vidic is near to his normal best next season after a lengthy layoff with injury. whatsthat.gif

Yeah Evans has improved but he isn't anything special. Just decent back up I guess. Jones and Smalling gain more experience so there is good chance that Evans will be sold by the end of next season.

Kagawa is a great signing! The fee could up to £18 million but he is worth it.

France looked pretty sexy in that win against Estonia, barring the rather porous defense (i.e. Mexes). But all around the team is playing very well together. Bring this sh*t on!

Got ESPN3 all set up at work and ready to go. Productivity at my desk is going to hit an all time low come Friday.

he's as good as gotze, right now, if not better and about 1/3 oor 1/4 the fee ans 1/2 or 1/3 the wages. He is just what united need and looks to fit our team perfectly.

You should be happy that he isn't British because then he would cost twice as much.

Because British players are brave and tough and all that...

Okay, but this is in the Bundesliga, still needs to prove himself in the EPL.

What a load of bollocks. Do you kids not ever get tired of the PROVE YOURSELF IN THE EPL bullsh*t. I heard the same about Kun Aguero, David Silva, Juan Mata, De Gea. Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world, it's not the best no but it's certainly up there with Spain & England. Kagawa is a f*cking beast and any team should be happy to score him, he's the type of player who can lift a team on his own and one who never ever gives up.

I also dont get were all this you nedd to prove yourself in the EPL comes from either, especially if your in Spain, German or Italian leagues. Or any league for that matter. Do we need Neymar or Messi to play in the EPL before we can call them great players er...... no.

Kagawa has won back to back titles in a league that boasts that behemoth of a club, Bayern Munich. He could instantly become one of United's key players from day one. More importantly, he reduces our need for Rooney to be the talisman and creator and allows him the chance to play further up the field in more games.

How I'm expecting the team to take shape next season based on transfers thus far (if Ferguson does end up taking us down the 4-2-3-1 route):

...................de Gea...................

..Rafael...Ferdinand..Vidic...Evra..

.............Scholes...Carrick...........

.....Valencia...Kagawa...Young......

....................Rooney..................

Hopefully Kagawa and Rooney will form a deadly, one-touch football partnership in the way that Kagawa had with Lewandowski. Kagawa instantly adds a new layer to our attacking options, because of course Rooney could drop back into the number 10 role with Welbeck ahead of him and Kagawa pushed out to one of the flanks.

I think there'll be more transfers to come though. I made a case the other day that United need another deep-lying midfielder to come and develop at the club, to ease the burden on Paul Scholes. An heir to Evra (Baines being named a lot in the press, even if he's only four years younger) or a solid, first-choice right-back are other options. I don't think the club will invest in a new world class central defender until Ferdinand retires; Jones, Smalling and Evans will continue to understudy the senior two until then.

Alright big guy, steady on before you hurt someone lol.gif

The difference between the EPL and the other top leagues in Europe is that "lesser" teams in the EPL are quite strong. Some of the results this season (United 2-3 Blackburn, Sunderland 1-0 City, Liverpool 0-1 Wigan) prove that. Alright, there may be weak teams in other leagues who pose a threat, but none so like the ones in the EPL.

I think it's also quite telling that when Hazard mentioned he was going Chelsea instead of utd, a lot of utd fans were sporting that he had to prove himself in the EPL because he was only a good in the French League, but with Kagawa, he's a dead cert. Keep in mind from 2008-2010 Dzeko got to be the second highest + the highest goalscorer in the Bundesliga, yet this season went 11 games without scoring.

You should take into consideration us poor Evertonians, atleast city can see a player they fancy and go and buy them, we have to sell our best players to fund virtually any transfer sad.gif

I know. Baines just a matter of time now sad.gif

If he goes for 20m, Moyes would probably get half that. Sucks.

We need more then just Nicka if we want to move forwards as a club though and on our imaginary budget that isn't happening. We aren't exactly declining so to speak, i'd rather have this team then the team we had when Moyes first joined in 2002 but the Premiership is a tougher league now, it used to be Arsenal, Utd, Chelski who were dominant, 7th place is essentially best of the rest now and there aren't any sh*t teams in the league anymore. Even if we were to get a space in Europe it would probably be a bad thing to happen, our squad is too thin, we need a strike partner for Jelavic, some more creativity in midfield, a decent right back etc. Look at Evertons first half of this season, we were utter poo, we sold Arteta and had no creativity in midfield other then Drenthe, we were using a frankly well past it Saha upfront on his own and hoofing long balls to him which was never his strongpoint, then Moyes was forced to play Anichebe who is utter utter sh*te, then Straqualursi who was great since he gave it his very best every game but in truth had the technical ability of a caveman and we even used Vellios, the 19 year old greek lad who did rather well infront of goal but had a bit of a fall out with Moyes who left him out the squad for a bit.

Fortunately January came around and despite only spending about 5-6 million the players we brought in changed the season, Pienaar showed why he's worth every penny to bring back to Goodison, Donovan was an inspiration, i think his assist for Straq against Chelsea was our first through ball of the season FFS and last but certainly not least Nicka Jelavic, i still can't believe we got him for such a low price, he was a revelation for us and thus we finished in 7th place, which ain't bad but it's not a step forward.

Summer time for Evertonians is not all fun in the sun, it's picking up the paper each day and expecting to see Baines to Utd, Fellaini to Chelsea etc simply because we're skint and our board of directors wouldn't give you the steam off their sh*t, it's f*cking unreal and i have no idea how Moyes puts up with it.

Then you have our nobhead neighbours wasting 100's of millions on pure british sh*te (except for Carroll i think he is a talent, just unfortunate such a big price hangs over his head) and they wonder why we're bitter!

Even as a Kopite, I feel bad for Everton, if a player has a decent season with you and the big clubs take notice, you seem powerless to keep hold of them confused.gif you guys must wonder where the club could have got to if you kept Rooney and had some investors come in and really invest in some top players back before he moved on to United scum.

Also why's Leon Osman never get mentioned for the England squad, he's a decent player and has good finish, but yet Henderson gets in mercie_blink.gif

That victory wasn't down to him though, i watched every game last season, went to about 15 games in total and watched the aways on the tinternet and that game at Old Trafford was the best 90 minutes all season from our lads in blue, cracking header by Nicka though i see what you mean.

@AJ - To be fair i'm not arsed about the Rooney sale, we would have been relegated if we didn't sell him to strengthen the squad, horrible to see a massive fan and the best player to ever come through the academy doing his business in another teams shirt but u gotta do what u gotta do, plus i have it on good authority he will be back at Everton at the end of his contract wink.gif

Everton needs to sell it's the only way forward as a club, Kenwrights only worth 10 million, Robert Earle is worth 200 Million but supports f*cking Spurs and spends most of his money in vegas and yet we've supposedly had i think 8 different groups interested in buying and they've all been scared off for reason hidden from the fans. Me dad tells me stories of going to the away games in Europe, he was there when we beat Bayern Munich in the semi of the Cup Winners Cup, he was at the final against Vienna when we brought the trophy home, the only thing we've won since i've been alive is an FA cup and i can't even remember that cause i was four years old and probably more interested in bubbles and fart noises. Annoying since we're still the 5th most succesful club in the country and it's slowly slipping away.

God i'm gonna stop now before i start downing domestos.

With the pressure he was under in terms of his position and the keeper's positioning, the only viable option was to head the ball towards the near post and try and squeeze it between the post + De Gea, but such skills from the big guy.
