Justify City's title? Why? They won. End of story. Teams deploy a range of strategies to win the PL every year. City's strategy was to invest in players that would win them the title. So, they did and won it. I don't see why it's so difficult for you to grasp your head around that. Oh right, you're a ManU fan. turn.gif

Its principles. Of course being a Chelsea fan I can see why its hard to see that.

I'm going to stop arguing now, I'm fighting a losing battle even though I know I'm right.

Oh heavens.

Man United played f*ck all this year. Yes, City's rise was due to the money injected in these years. But guess what, that's the way football goes nowadays, and the Bundesliga seems to be the only league willing to regulate the clubs' income fairly. But do tell, what did you expect? United are such a big club they deserve to win before entering the pitch? Be proud of what your team has achieved and quit like you have just promised. It's a losing battle alright, but not for the reasons you're thinking of. And it's hard for you to see that but, thankfully, United has nothing to do with that.

Come to think of it Man UTD. had a chance only if they avoided 6-1 deficit. The Title should been in reach even if the race for the title is only by goal difference (like now)

By the way CONGRATS CITY! cool.gif

I was really hoping for a QPR win just to for them to avoid relegation, But later on when stoke had scored the equalizer, I quickly change sides biggrin.gif In my point of view the game was a pure CLASSIC it really defines what football really is. During the game I already got that feeling that some sh*t gonna happen in the last minutes and I was right.

Isn't your Twitter ITK saying Heskey might be off to Rangers?

Not seen that. I did he is saying Rasmus Elm to Liverpool in the next few weeks. that would be a very good signing. Kenny in America as we speak for talks...

...wait, that wasn't a bad dream? That actually happened yesterday? Good Lord.

Onwards and upwards.

Wishing Rutgerus Johannes Martinus van Nistelrooij a happy retirement. Quality striker he was.

Spurs. Chelsea. United. City. Hell if you're ignoring profitability in transfers lob in Arsenal. They all spend big money, as do a lot of the Premier league. Players cost money. If you want great players you need big money. Remember, the noisy neighbours don't have the aura that a team like Utd has. How else were they going to beat them apart from splashing the cash to price the other big teams out of the market. It isn't Utds right to win.

Want to know the only thing more annoying than arrogant United fans who start spouting off excuses and financial figures and miss the fact that United have been sub-par in all competitions this year? It's fan of other clubs taking some kind of high ground as start tarnishing all United fans with the same brush.

There's a fair few Manchester United (not "ManU") fans out there hurting but who know the writing has been on the wall for some time. So put down the Big Book of Howard Webb Jokes and give it a rest.

Doesn't half make me laugh when the "kick em while they're down" crews come out when United have a relatively poor season.

/minirantdonttakeitpersonallyfootydeskyoustillrock

Edit: Wonder who'll get the Villa job next? Would be a good move for Martinez but I doubt he'd get the complete support of the fans and board that he gets at Wigan. Slaven Bilić has already said he's stepping down after the Euros but that would be risky.

Doubt anyone would want it, Steve McClaren?

Nah, I don't think he'd go back to Twente if he wasn't intent on staying for a longer period this time.

Would be good if they decided to have a look around the Championship for a decent manager who keeps missing out on promotion. Chris Hughton has done good at Brum but, uh, let's not go there. Besides, I hear WBA are after him to replace Hodgson. Malky Mackay at Cardiff... Holloway if Blackpool miss out in the playoff final... Darren Ferguson... Gus Poyet...

Waiting for a member of the Villa contingent to come in and slam down my suggestions tounge.gif

ChillyPhilly

Always a waste of a title when it goes to Old Trafford. It's a breath of fresh air when it goes to another club, and especially in this case with City - the first time in years and years that a non-big four has won it.

@Waddy: Isn't your Twitter ITK saying Heskey might be off to Rangers?

Is he going to play for free as Rangers can't even afford a bag of Space Raiders?

The Times are reporting Alex McLeish has left Villa  wow.gif

Well your sauce said so.

<snip, about City 'buying' the title>

Andy Cole (95), Juan Sebastian Veron (01), Rio Ferdinand (02), ring any bells?!?

Anywho, without this me acting likie I'm basking in glory, I love the reactions of foreign commentary

Telegraph article with videos.

And still on about the game yesterday, in my opinion Barton should be sacked, irony should dictate that he started his career with City and it should end at City, with that crap yesterday and all his [email protected] rantings.

Barton punished by FA

The Guardian piece on that Joey Barton twitter rant had such a perfectly constructed piece of comic writing...

In an expletive-littered rant he called Shearer a "prick", a "bell" and added "I have better hair".

what a mug.

And United fans have never laughed at rival teams losing finals/trophies? 'course not. That goes for every fan towards their rivals. Blert.

Congrats on City on becoming only the 5th team to ever win a league since football was created in '92.

Joey Barton on Twitter said that he never lost his head (lol) and was told by a team mate to try and get a City player sent off with him, classy that.

That's my point too, I heard a bunch of West Brom fans saying they were chuffed that Manchester United didn't win it. They were laughing and even celebrating. It's like West Brom won the f*cking title.

One plus today is Paul Scholes signing on for another year. More class in one of his ginger testicles than the man above has in his entire body.

He's a shrivelled and sweaty individual of highly questionable integrity. Lap it up you traitor - Tevez couldn't even stick to his guns, trying to wriggle away from City like a sewer rat; which everyone seems to conveniently forget (Scholes came back a hero, Tevez a turncoat). I've ducked my head out of the money discussion because as blatant as City's overt spending has been, it is an inevitability of the modern game. But I can and will continue to call out Tevez for the greaseball he is.

What Man city have done is no different to what chelsea did all those years ago. All this is just postcode rivalry on a slightly bigger scale.

CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just home to rainy Ireland, after the best day in my life...f*cking brilliant.

We really thought we'd blown it (And from looking a couple of pages back, so did Tommy hahahahaha lol.gif ). One guy beside us left at 2-1.....poor ol' sod. As the match was coming to a close hope was fading then Dzeko scored and everybody's thinking, "good, too late maybe?"...then Sergio biggrin.gif Some random beside us got me into a headlock and wouldn't let go for about 10 seconds. notify.gif

Walking back into Manchester with a massive crowd chanting "We won the league, in Fergie time", saw one of the guys from Blue Moon Rising.

Thought this was priceless too:

Too bad I couldn't stay for the parade, but f*ck it, I witnessed History cool.gif

Talking of class...

Alessandro del Piero played his final game for Juve at the weekend and lifted the Scudetto too. A true legend and role model, del Piero won everything in his career and entertained in the process.

What I'll most remember of del Piero are lots of titanic battles between Man U and Juve in the CL in the 90's, in which he was a major player. Time for a trib vid

@JOSEPH X: Gotta love Del Piero. He was very good when I was young, really top guy.

Here's me still feeling like a complete f*cktard for walking out about 30 seconds before Macheda's winner against Villa...

Good to see del Piero going out like that. A club that knows how to treat it's genuine legends. Still can't believe Raul is ending his career in the middle of f*cking nowhere.

I don't understand this at the best of times, in a normal match I don't see why people leave before the end. But on the final day of the season where your team stands a chance of winning it all, I don't see how waiting just a few more minutes would hurt.

I can imagine the atmosphere was wild. I know the television broadcasts can be misleading depending on microphone placement, but it sounded fairly quiet when it was at 1-2. Even if that was the case, I imagine it was pretty special after Aguero's went in. Didn't realise there was the parade today, was in the student area of Manchester for exams and was gonna go in to town to have a look around some shops, suppose I missed out on it being absolutely rammed!

Del piero was always highly respected over here in England.

I remember him being the highest paid player in the world at one point. After seeing his grace on the ball i didn't doubt he was worth it.

Its also worth mentioning that he remained at juve when they got relegated icon14.gif
