Big loss for Liverpool last night, could be critical.

City have 2 games in hand and spurs 1 game in hand over Liverpool, even Everton could only be 4 points behind if they can win their game in hand. If City win their 2 games will put them 7 points clear...Not long to go now.

Ah, time to cash in on the 5 quid I bet on Liverpool not making the top 4 with my mate. wink.gif

Seriously though, it's a tough ask for them. At least United are in a great position; we're still to play Chelsea a second time, and if they manage to slip up against some lower opposition (which is possibly since now they're on the back-foot and behind us and would be feeling more pressure) and if we manage to collect a decent result against them in the return fixture, then hopefully we'll be smooth sailing. icon14.gif

Regarding the debt, I'm actually not worried. As long as United pull consistent results in the future, finishing, at minimum, 4th every season, then our debt will eventually be handled in that time. Besides, I don't see why United would finish lower than 4th anyway.

United winning the Carling Cup makes it so there's an extra spot for the Europa league via the league doesn't it? That's how f*cking bad it is looking.

No disrespect to Wigan but they are relegation fodder and we couldn't even get a shot on target.

The debt these clubs have like Liverpool and Man Utd can really only be paid with TV money and CL money. The more successful then the more TV money you will get from all comps. They reckon if you win the CL you will pick up 50M. These are what needs to be achieved. Man Utd are safe because they will be playing CL football next season. Liverpool now run the risk of no CL football, this could result in players like Torres and a few others having to be sold to service the debt that the CL would normally cover. This with the fact that if the players are sold then it breaches Rafa's contract and he will then have to be paid out...then take into consideration that Anfield is pretty much ran by Rafa and his staff including the youth teams. If Rafa goes then they will all follow and that will leave even more problems. Unless they get bought out in the Summer by some major Arab or similar, they could be in really serious problems. If the top players are sold to service the debt then they will never get back into the CL because City will just take their place.

I'm not sure about your figures, but I know the bonds have already gone. Are you a match-goer?

Not been to one this season, but the 3 seasons before that I went to quite a few United and City games. My sister's BF is a matchday cop (surveillance cam) and season ticket holder, when he was on duty I got to go. I also bought a few tickets being a member of One Utd. My other sister is a mad City fan and her company (DHL) had a box at Eastlands so I`d pretend to be a customer and tag along.

I went to about 90% of home games between `79 - `86, the Sexton-Atkinson-Ferguson era. I stood in the same spot in the Stretford End for the first half of nearly every game - behind the fence over the tunnel in the left hand corner - at HT everyone from our school would meet up on the `12th step` behind the right hand post. without fabregas, ramsay, gallas, van persie, and more, 5-0. biggrin.gif

Porto is yet to score in London against arsenal, atleast the last three games. 11-0 on agg (in london last 3 games ) biggrin.gif

Ouch.

I didn't get a chance to see the game, but when I rushed into a cafe and grabbed a glimpse of that 4-0, later five, I was awestruck.

Porto brought a 2-1 lead to London then got destroyed.

Big match for us tonight, cant wait to see Becks playing at OT again.

Rooney is just unstoppable at the moment, I never thought he would ever become as good as this, he is magic!

I just dont want him to play for Man Utd again this season, sods law he is gona get unjured before the WC!

Did anyone see Ronaldo's face when Madrid got beat last night lol. I hope Man Utd go all the way now to really piss him off.

Rooney is easily going to break the 40 goal mark going into the World Cup baring injury, he's going to have so much pressure put on him from the media.

Madrid haven't made the quarters since 03 now, can see Pellegrini getting sacked at the end of the season.

Maybe he will saved if they win the league title. Very close though with Barca.

I think Man Utd will be favourites to win the the CL now?

Dunno depends...

Capello was sacked after winning the league as well as Del Bosque and Heynckes got sacked even though he won the Champions League in 98. Bit of a joke club.

Madrid's problem is Raul. He's the untouchable, and that causes some infighting in the squad.

Isn't it true the transfer of David Villa to Real Madrid fell through because Raul went to the president of the club and persuaded him not to buy Villa?

Bye, Bye Madrid anyway well played Man United FC we are playing well with the 4 5 1 formation and Rooney is unstoppable in the lone striker roll.

Get in poor old Liverpool beaten again im sorry but nothing is going wright for them at the moment i dont think they will even reach Europe next season.

lol.gif Calm down mate, I'm not questioning your support. I just find that regular match-goers (I'm not one of them) have a greater disdain for the Glazers because of the massive increase in ticket prices and the borderline extortionate ACS.

I think I recall reading something about that. Raul has a lifetime contract with Real Madrid, meaning it'll get extended every year providing he plays 30 matches. Since he's never injured and the club staff demand he plays, he'll get extension after extension. He never even was that great of a player to begin with, but ey, it's Real Madrid.

Liverpool again played terrible last night.

Gerrard is paid more a week than the entire Lille squad do a week! Gerrard was by far the worst player on the field. Rafa needs to drop him to the bench for a few games. I still think Liverpool will do the job at Anfield but they dont half like to make hard work of things!

Oh, I banned Seddo for 2 hours for admitting he watched Emerdale and Eastenders and corrie whatever. Let that me a lesson to the rest of ya! wink.gif
