FutebolAmor
Gotta say, I really underestimated Napoli last night. Very strong at the back and hellishly quick going forward. Draw was a fair result although with the money we spent we should be beating teams like this regardless.
SIKKS66
Ah right, thanks Cacti and Sweaty. He looked different to the picture of Wilshere in my head FutebolAmor, nothing is a given at Champions League level. Doesn't matter how much money you spend, you're playing (on paper) the best teams in Europe. Winning all the home games is a must I think for winning the group, but I can see City doing the double over Villarreal. Munich could be tough but their defence is a bit slow, City could exploit that.

Their defence is still weak at times, but even without Robben, who's currently injured, their offense is terrific. Due to their current form + their game against City takeing place in Munich, I think they'll easily beat the Citizens.

Please do not take this as mockery, but... that was funny @Der_Don: Yeah have to agree with you. Munich are the favorites but regardless I would expect them to beat us, they have more experience in the CL aswell. As per usual Lescott will undoubtedly be the weak link. I really think he's there because of the home grown rule and nothing else, would rather have Kolo in there tbh.

Napoli has a quality squad, and they'll never be an easy fixture, even for the glorious Manchester City.

Richards is looking beastly at the moment at right back. I'd say he's up there with the best in the world right now. His strength and pace are phenomenal, great at making those overlapping runs and he's not bad at tackling either. Good analysis of Napoli by the way, they are a great side, one of the reasons why Group A is called "The group of death"
FutebolAmor
that was funny It was funny. Keep telling yourself that, big guy @SweatyPa1ms: I actually like Nedum Onuoha, pretty strong. Definately one for the future. @The Killa: Have to be honest and say I don't watch much Serie A, so I didn't know much about Napoli only that they were quick up front, but did find out soon after that they had something like the 2nd best defensive record in their league last season. Der_Don
Definitely has "in it" in it. That's a way of remembering it. Footy Desk has become Spelling Desk. The German word "definitiv" is also written with an "i" but people on several boards were saying "definately" so it confused me a bit. I was too lazy to look it up in a dictionary though. Same goes for "would of" instead of "would have" which I really had to think about when I first read it. Buuut, that belongs to another topic

Canoxa
Of course, it's all Wenger's fault. Ordering his players to score autogoals, brilliant. And an offside goal against, I read. What a git. I know you Gunners are through with Wenger, but he just can't be that much of a bad luck charm. You have a bigger chance of turning this around by keeping him around and letting the players do their job properly than flatlanding the team and hoping for the best. If Arsène can't spend any significant amount of money, why would any other manager?

Vercetti27
when your in a relegation battle nothing seems to go for you. as for wenger, I can't fathom why keeping him will give us any benefits. chelsea sacked ancelotti despite winning the double and finishing second. our board are mugging off the whole club by standing by him as if he can do no wrong

FutebolAmor
But its the same old question...Who would you want to replace him? Martin O'Neill? I think he's a good manager and would loved to have seen him at City before Mancini came. Obviously he's not the manager Wenger is, but he did well with Villa getting them to Europe and got Celtic to the UFEA Cup final. Just my opinion

Are you seriously asking where are we going to find a manager in the world with 50m at his disposal to use to add to a squad containing RVP, Arteta, Gervinho, Vermaelen, Wilshere and Chesney that can surpass our current achievements ? Since the beginning of 2010 we f*cked up a 2-0 lead at wigan, a 2-0 lead v t'ham, a 4-0 lead v newcastle while losing a domestic cup against a side that have been relegated AND get tonked by M utd 8-2. Is there anyone out there that isn't a stubborn , myopic wanker who insults his own fans week in week out, lies about injuries , embarasses our club with lame excuses and spends 5 years mentioning potential? There isn't a manager in the PL right now who could get away with that. As much as I'm grateful for his efforts from 96-05 he isn't the same manager as before . We're going downhill and we shouldn't just be too sh*t scared to actually take some f*cking action. He has dug his own grave and then told us he doesn't want to buried . Come on, who is better than Wenger right now and is available? Someone who has managed teams who have gotten to the CL final and have always finished top 4 in the prem? O'Neil? Yes a very good prem manager. Europe? No experience. Its like saying "When Fergie leaves Man Utd maybe Paul Jewell can take over" A club like Arsenal need a world class manager, not a club to club prem manager, a proven manager or you will just do worse. chris
Nice result there for the Toffees, can't wait for Match of the day First time I have looked forward to it all season. 7th and climbing. Should be champions by Easter. I hope this time around we start the season well and end the season well, i could see us finishing much higher then last year if that was the case. I'm proper optimistic for this season, alot of blues are worried about Everton at the moment but i'm not, i just can't wait to see more of our loan signings and also our talented younger players getting games under their belt. COYB! Edit - I do worry for Arsenal tbh, the quality players are there but somethings not quite right, Wenger seems to be slipping a bit in comparison to his earlier years at Arsenal but as Waddy has said who would you get to replace him?
