Tchuck
André Santos, from Fenerbahçe, also signed for the gunners. Not a very good transfer imo, he's completely overrated since he's been getting callups to the national team. But he only got those callups because Brazil's manager also coached him during his Corinthians times, so quite biased. And if you followed the Copa América, you could see he was not very good at all. Bad move. Should have gotten the veteran Alex instead, that guy scores a lot and creates a ton of chances and has all the experience to give to the young gunners. cactus.
Wow, Arteta is off to London. That ought to be a great signing.. The guy is quality, but lately he hasn't really seemed to be as sharp as he used to be; will be interesting to see if he ups his game when playing with Arsenal. LanceVanceDance07
Arteta is the best of Arsenal's last minute panic buys for sure... Anyone else shocked that Raul Meireles left Liverpool at the last minute to go to Chelsea? I was...what prompted him to hand in a transfer request? gta 4 gamer
what prompted him to hand in a transfer request? The fact that he could reunite with former manager Villas-Boas. I was VERY surprised with this move too. He was one of the top performers this year in his club and his partnership with Suarez was deadly and effective. What a dumbass. I doubt he'll get to play much at Chelsea.
SIKKS66
Arteta is as close as you can get to a like-for-like for Fabregas. Except, unlike Fabregas, he'll be 100% committed to the cause and bring a bit more experience to the team. Can see him becoming a team leader for sure. £10million is pretty good for both parties. Timing of the deal kinda sucks for Everton though, having one less midfielder is going to stretch things even more.
Waddy
What a night! Im not bothered by Arteta going to Arsenal. He hasnt played like his used to for 18months now after his injury, 10m is a good bit of business along with his 75k a week wages off the books. I liked him but am not at all bitter about him going, good luck. I am also happy with the new Dutch chap we have signed from Real Madrid, who paid 15m for him and only 24, plus the loan signing of an Argentine striker Denis Stracqualursi! Looks great on paper, one of the top scorers in Argentina's top league. Yak went to Blackburn, and Beckford who cost us nothing went for 4m. Timing sucked but I hope Moyes will get some of the Arteta money in January and get another player. The title push should still be on!
Prometheus
The title push should still be on! And when's that supposed to be? in 28 years? No really, I think Everton has big chances to finish in the Top 4, but really slight chance to win the league, w/ Man Utd, Chelsea, City and Liverpoo too. Anyone else shocked that Raul Meireles left Liverpool at the last minute to go to Chelsea? I was...what prompted him to hand in a transfer request? When celebrating our second goal against Arsenal after his assist he looked so pissed off and giving the V signs to someone, don't know who too or why but something didn't seem right. Chelsea prepared to off 40 million for Modric and we buckle under our terms for 15 million. Good to see Bellamy back, decent back up and much better than Ngog. Crazy night last night, much better than last years deadline day evening.

A shame it was the 1-0 one and not the 7-1 Going for any of the other games? Marseille might be a good game. Also, would have to agree with Waddy's top 7 but with Arsenal finishing above Spurs. LanceVanceDance07
Speaking of going to matches, I'm going to my first World Cup qualifying match tomorrow night. Canada vs. St. Lucia...should be a good one, I expect nothing less than a demolition... I always wondered what it is like going to a match in Europe, and the differences between that and going to a match in North America. I would like to go sometime, just very busy and cash strapped at the moment...

They have as about as much chance of finishing in the top 4 as norwich Let's hope history repeats itself then, the last time we sold one of our best players, Rooney, we bought a somewhat unknown, Marcus Bent and ended up finishing in 4th, our highest premier league finish. Granted, the league is wayyy more competitive now so finishing 4th isn't an option at the moment. I can't wait for our next game though i want to see the big argentinian and the little dutchy in action, if Drenthe can score for us on his debut like he did for madrid then i'll be a very happy evertonian. cactus.
putting Liverpoo 2nd and 1st -under a miracle- I'm actually backing Liverpool to win the league this season. I know, it's a long shot, especially since they've got rid of Meireles now. But I do believe they have a decent chance against the likes of City and United. SweatyPa1ms
Top 4 will be impossible I reckon. Man Utd Man City Chelsea Liverpool Spurs Arsenal Everton I think it'll be... 1. Liverpool 2. Man City 3. Man Utd 4. Chelsea 5. Tottenham 6. Bolton 7. Arsenal Europa Cup Winners - Birmingham Champions League winners - Arsenal FA Cup winners - QPR League Cup - Wolves ----- The reason why i'm tipping Liverpool for the title over everybody else (Man City, Man United, Chelsea) is because I think Kenny Dalglish looks like a better manager than anyone else at the moment and he's signed some great players. Man United are the only real competition in my opinion. Chelsea and Man City look great but I think they dont have the togetherness of Liverpool or Man United. Man City do have a very big squad though and Villas Boas might turn out to be the next Mourinho, only time will tell. Liverpool have got more strength than Man United and alot better defense in my opinion. Skrtel & Agger look quite matured players now, ready to replace Carragher who is pretty past it. They've also got Aurelio, Johnson, Enrique, Coates coming in and some promising young players. Where as in the Man United denfense I think Vidic and Ferdinand are looking pretty past it, they are too injury prone in their old age. Evra doesn't look great anymore. Smalling and Jones look promising but thats about it really. The goalkeepers look alot better at Liverpool too, Reina and Doni (nice free transfer btw) against a very shakey looking De Gea and an out of touch Kuszczak. Bellamy and Gerrard playing with each other again aswell, thats gonna be interesting... Very doubtful my predictions will come true but I certainly hope so, i'm sick of United winning everything . I like a bit of diversity as a neutral. Same goes for Barca, STOP WINNING EVERYTHING! I dislike Carlos Puyol so much aswell, please tell me he retired at the end of last season so I dont have to see his ridiculous perm in the Champions League this year. Dont even get me started on Messi, Busquets, Villa, Pedro, Pique... Nani is worse than all of them though . LOL, snapped!
