Waddy
I thought it was alright, it would have gone for the bottom left, typical Pen for me. Good save. Heard Wenger is putting together a £250,000 plus add ons for Kaka.

GerryM
I thought the critical moment of that United-Arsenal game was when De Gea stopped Van Persie's penalty. That was a proper save. not really for me. I was shocked to see Van Persie choke on that penalty.

SweatyPa1ms
I'm still unsure over most of Arsenal's squad... Goalkeepers - Szczesny, Alumunia & Fabianski are all average in my opinion. They should of bought Given when they had the oppurtunity, that or buy one of the big americans or one of Stoke's beastly goalkeepers. Defense - I think they need to get Cahill at all costs, I can see him playing with Vermaelen nicely. I still think they need another centre back aswell who could play as a full back like Onuoha. Midfield/Attack - They are good going forward even without Nasri and Fabregas but I dont think Wilshere and Ramsey have the balls to fill their shoes, they need someone in either attacking midfield or a forward that can change a game. The Arsenal squad just doesn't see to have much depth anymore and they are short of quality players in a number of positions. Testing times for Wenger I feel. Abebayor should go back there . I posted this before the weekend and think it needs reposting due to the events that recently unfolded, sorry Arsenal fans...

That was a proper save. not really for me. I was shocked to see Van Persie choke on that penalty. To be fair it was a little bit of both. Van Persie didn't pull it left enough so that it was out of the keeper's hands, but De Gea chose the correct side and made the low save.
SIKKS66
Watched the game yesterday in a hotel in Portugal. Amidst a bunch of bemused English neutrals and appalled locals asking "What has happened to Arsenal" was me laughing like a crazy c*nt. 8 f*cking 0. Best belated birthday present ever. Rooneh, Chris Smalling, Tom Cleverley and Ashley Young were OUTSTANDING. Almost brought tears to the eye. The rest were merely great. Hope they keep this up. If I was a Gooner, by the way, I'd be more appalled at useless, embarrassing f*cks like Arshavin and Rosicky making the team as much as lack of transfer dealings. They were as bad as United were good. Was so chuffed with the result I went back on my oath not to buy new shirts and bought the black and blue away shirt as a birthday present to myself. Why the f*ck not, eh?

Waddy
Nasri has today stated that Arsenals policy is to sell senior 'made' players and then concentrate on the youth. That's been Everton's problem for the last couple of years, we start the seasons slow and then have a great seccond half, iirc if last seasons points had have been counted from after xmas then Everton would have been 2nd in the league behind united. That's why this season we need to take it game by game and not look too far ahead, if were consistent enough then theres a chance we could get a place in Europe, it's much easier said then done though, alot of teams have strengthened their squads for this season and we haven't bought a single player, it's just a matter of playing the waiting game. SIKKS66
So Owen Hargreaves to sign for Man City...I am not drunk, I am serious. What? Apparently they're in for another defensive midfielder? Only have De Jong in that position (well, I'm guessing a fair few players can play there but this is City). If true, this move reminds me of Michael Owen joining United. A lot of talk when he was released by Newcastle of Hull and Stoke making a move for him. The opportunity to join United must have blown those offers out of the water. Similarly, the opportunity to join a CL team must look a lot better than joining QPR, West Brom or West Ham. Whatever. I liked Hargo a lot so can't say I'm not a little disappointed if true. El Zilcho
He'll be a good player in that role (he's a quality midfielder) if he can stay fit for more than five minutes. Der_Don
Source: mirrorfootball.co.ukPer Mertesacker was reportedly en route to London today to undergo a medical at Arsenal. The Gunners have been in talks with Werder Bremen over the signing of Germany defender Mertesacker, who was given permission by club and country to jet out to England. Good luck over there! Good move for Werder, bad move for the Arse. Per is way too slow and totally overrated. Edited August 30, 2011 by Der_Don

Hargreaves to City? I thought they were spending money, not saving it? I saw it on Sky Sports News, earlier, he was having a medical. I wish him the best, for his career - not for Citeh. Joe Cole on loan to Lille actually makes me smile. He's playing football, and he's not on the Redknapp-o-radar no more, if it's true. - Traore is going QPR - as we all know. - QPR interested in Anton Ferdinand, from Sunderland. - Arsenal sign striker Park-Chu Young from Monaco. - Arsenal bid for mountain German defender; Mertesacker. - Arsenal sign Andre Santos. - Tottenham in talks with Scott Parker. - Valencia signed Tottenham target Ruiz, from FC Twente. - West Brom after signing Macheda from Manchester Utd. - Forlan set for Inter deal. - Stoke still interested in "2 meter Peter". - Chelsea planning £40million bid, for Modric on transfer deadline, but Levy still stating he is not for sale, after "gentleman's agreement".
