What do you guys think the chances are of the FA postponing this weekend's matches? God I hope they don't, I've been waiting all summer for this sh*t! tounge.gif

I think Gervinho may prove to be one of the better summer signings. That guy is a perfect fit for Arsenal, so it seems. I got to see him play back in May, he's quick, decisive on the ball, and has a knack for scoring goals. Avoiding injury, I think he could compete for this season's Golden Boot award..but we'll just have to wait and see!

I bloody hope not. I've been waiting all summer for the season to start too turn.gif

Gervinho is a good signing for the gunners but he has massive expectations so he has to prove himself. I think the gunners are going to have a tough season and they are going to struggle for top four but they have to hold onto Fabregas and Nasri. If they do then it is going to one hell of a battle for top four!

Gervinho was a great signing, but he might take more time to get used to english football than the fans might wish for.

that's true, there's no telling how quickly or slowly he'll adapt to the English game. But given his qualities aforementioned, I can't see him having much trouble integrating himself into the system of fast-paced English football.

Fabregas looks to finally be on his way, thus (hopefully) bringing an end to one of the most drawn-out, tedious transfer sagas in recent memory.

I'm quite interested to see how this Ryo Miyaichi turns out. I've read about him being a potential replacement for Nasri if Nasri is sold, and he seems to be very promising.

Oh, and also @DerDon: My mate follows St. Pauli and we were planning on catching some 2. Bundesliga game in Hamburg or somewhere. To be honest, Dresden and Duisburg are the only ones that appealed to me because of the kits. I quite like Dortmund and QPR as they have similar kits to Dresden and Duisburg, but 2nd division German sides seem canny sh*te. confused.gifdontgetit.gifsarcasm.gifwhatsthat.gif

Get your bets on for Belgium to win 2012 Euro's or 2014 WC, got some amazing talent coming through as well as a few established players, worth a punt.

Torres subbed off for Spain after 15 minutes, because he was sh*t or just injured?...either way it's funny biggrin.gif.

wait, what?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the world class striker in Torres is long gone. Sad, really, I always enjoyed watching him play but it seems as though something inside him has died. Chelsea are likely to get more goals if they signed me as striker catspider.gif

Jurgen Klinsmanns first game in charge of USA ended 1-1 against Mexico. It was only 10 days after his appointment yet already it's looking like positive football.

Feels pretty exciting with him in charge, sexual innuendo unintended in that statement.

Enrique seems set for LFC and I for one am pretty excited about it. Been a while we've been screaming out for decent a decent LB and LW, was getting worried for a while with the odd sensation of buying a whole gang of midfielders.

Can anyone vouch for Liveonlinefooty.com? Just discovered that it will be cheaper to do that rather than pay for a monthly subscription for the channel I normally get to watch football. Figure it's worth a go.

Spurs vs Everton has been called off on Saturday to go alongside the England game on Wednesday which didn't go ahead. While as a football fan it is quite annoying to see a game postponed, I do see the logic behind postponing Tottenham's game. Hopefully Fulham and QPR's games will still go ahead on Saturday without a hitch.

@ TheKilla: Check around, google them and see what comes up. Years ago when football streaming first came to prominence I signed up to a site for a fiver a month (PayPal'd) and it was basically just one bloke who would stream the games from his satellite television, through a dedicated server to myself and others. As long as your getting dedicated links rather than basic SopCast ones stolen from streaming sites, then I'd say it's worth it.*

*I am not condoning the illegal streaming of copyrighted content. My post above just looks like I am, but it's all an illusion...

Did anyone see Germany - Brazil last night? Phenomenal! Can't wait for the Euros next year. If we don't win anything within the next 4 years, I will stop watching football, I promise...

TAKE A BOW, SON.

Very nice.

*tekka boo, son.

Enrique to Liverpool a done deal, fantastic player and at 5.5-6 million is a bargain. No idea why sh*tty when for Clichy when Jose was available just as cheap. Hopefully we can also nab a CB before the window closes, Cahill or Dann will do me.

A couple of the big boys enter the 2nd round of the Carling Cup draw tonight cool.gif.

Paddy McCourt, what a name. That was an extremely classy finish from the guy, and his first goal in that game wasn't bad either!

You know when you laugh so hard it makes your soul feel good?

. Brillant stuff, really.

This boy has been amazing for me on FIFA this week then I turn on the TV to see McCourt score a fantastic goal. How ironic? lol.gif

Yeah, it was a pretty damn good impersonation. "I even dug the underground sh*t you did in Japan!" lol.gif

Absolutely stoked for tomorrow's opening matches! I got my weed, decent internet connection, and my fantasy team to drive me crazy. Ah the good ol' times.

That's what a majority of people say and, personally, I just don't get it. Every weekend a prerequisite to watching the games is tweaking my fantasy team. A lot of friends who play fantasy american football play for money to keep them interested, but I just can't mix sports and money, it ruins the joy for me.

In my private fantasy league, we play for the FU Cup. It's more than enough to keep me motivated tounge.gif

I like the fantasy leagues and the prediction games, but I only compete during the world cups and euros. I have a reputation to maintain in those kinds of games. I mean, what would you all think of me if I started to f*ck up right at the start, instead of f*cking up at the end? tounge.gif

Speaking of predictions, does anyone bet regularly? I'm going to do so. I've put aside 20€. If I do well, I profit; if I eventually run out of money, well, finita la comedia. I've placed my first bet already, for the European Supercup. The odds for Porto were a very solid 6. If I win, it's golden. If I lose, it matters little because the site offers the incentive of returning the money if the first bet flunks. lol.gif

But the best part is that you'd have all season to try and recover smile.gif I implore you to at least join the GTAF fantasy league this year and see how it goes!

As for betting, only one time, well twice. I talked my roommate of last year, who knows nothing of footy, but fancies sports betting, to bet a couple hundred on the Chelsea - Blackpool game with me. We won $500. But the problem is that it gave us a "high" from winning, so we were eager to bet, and win, again. The next weekend we put down $250 on the Arsenal - West Brom game and I told him: "Don't worry, Arsenal will more than likely win this game." West Brom won 3-2 at the Emirates bored.gif So we called it quits and made off with our respective $125. I haven't bet on sports since.

Tommy has set up a nice prediction league, but if anyone's interested in playing "I Know the Score" in a GTAF league on TalkSport's website, the league code is F60EA-PWN.

oh, and here's the url: http://predictor.talksport.co.uk/

So, according to Marca Fabregas to Barca is a done deal. Good luck to him.

EDIT: And Eto'o to Anzhi Mackalackadingdong (something like that) seems to be a done deal as well.

Indeed, mind, if there's one tiny thing I hate about Sky, is the way they've changed the 'traditional footballing' dates forever, for example a few years ago ten games at 3pm on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon would kick off the Premier League, nowadays? We have three or four games on the opening day taking place in the proceeding couple of days. It kind of kills a little of the Premier League magic, but at the same time, this summer's been dull aside from the dominant performance in the cricket, so I'll take anything at the moment! Oh, and if there's going to be a 'shock' today, I reckon it'll be for QPR, Neil Warnock, and that Taarabytegigamanallrounderbloke.

I'll take the honor of being the first to complain about a ref. Dowd was dogsh*te today to put it kindly. Although can't really complain about 1-1 in fairness. Two completely different halves.

How can you give a pen and not send off the last man? The less spoken about the pen the better tounge.gif

The Carroll disallowed goal, hardly any contact...

First half we were amazing, we should have been well out of sight after that first half, but that's what you get we you don't put a way your chances. Flanno and Hendo had a bit of a mare.

No idea what we done in pre-season as we looked absolutely knackered after 55 minutes which allowed Sunderland to start dictating the game. From what i saw in the first half i have no doubt on us grabbing at least 4th.
