The Killa
Well, it's only a good thing imo. Serie A is on a dramatic downfall at the minute. The Bundesliga deserves it. I just wonder if they'll expand to 20 teams now?

I hear this said so much with no justification. The man's been subject to death threats and assaults the whole time he's here, and I honestly don't see much reasoning outside of sheer bigotry or assumptions about his politics (neither of which are an excuse). Thank you for you fantastic and informative opinion. In the future, keep it to yourself. I think Scottish Football could come in for some serious changes, somethings got to give anyway. Problem being its the managers fighting along with the fans. More and more behind closed door games I reckon.

One pissed up ned is now an indicator of bigotry? What about the pro IRA songs the away support were singing audibly? Or the fact that celtic fans attacked police and stewards inside the ground. Why would my distaste for lennon, as a non religious Aberdeen fan, be related to bigotry? Or thousands of others just like me who hate the man. I am not saying he deserves death threats, but he is in an incredibly sensitive position, where he holds a lot of influence over people involved in a rivalry that is always close to boiling over, and the way he conducts himself and the things he says are incredibly inflammatory, and do nothing to help the situation. That and he still is, and always has been, a massive c*nt.

Straznicy
I don't see the relevance of pro-IRA songs being sung to this. They're political in nature, not bigoted or sectarian as the authorities try to peddle them. Off-topic anyway. Ever been to an away game? Most of the section's pissed-up, so easily-riled. A constant sectarian sing-song (i.e. The Billy Boys) from the wee huns throughout the match, as well as seeing your manager assaulted is gonna lead to bother. I'm not condoning attacks on the police, and it's something essentially never seen from Celtic fans these days, but last night was a unique situation which unfortunately led to it. "Incredibly inflammatory" is a bit far-fetch. Lennon likes to rile a few Orange cages and isn't shy to be forthright with his opinions. It's admirable and hugely entertaining. I'd of thought you lot would like seeing Scotland's Shame wound up as much as Celtic fans do? It might well be that his conduct doesn't help the situation, but as far as I'm concerned it's not Lennon's problem. Having lived in Glasgow my whole life, went to Catholic and non-denominational schools, I can safely say that the problem of sectarianism is really only emanating from one side of the fence these days, and it isn't Celtic's. Vercetti27
bollocks. didn't celtic "fans" boo the british soldiers who came on the pitch a couple of years ago at arsenal ? And on remembrance sunday hold up a banner saying no to wearing the poppy on their shirt? The old firm are as bad as one another . I haven't got a problem with either clubs but the bigotry is on both sides of the divide.

Doesn't the fact that most Aberdeen fans, with their notorious hatred of the hun, really hope that they win the league tell you something about this situation? Lennon has no idea how a man in his position should be behaving, and someone needs to have a word with him. The fact that you call his behavior admirable really suggests that there is no point in arguing with you about this. The guy appeals to the lowest common denominator in your support, and does absolutely nothing to try and ease tensions, or improve the image of Scottish football. He was a f*cking mink of a player, and the sooner he is out of the Scottish game the better. And regarding the IRA songs, they have absolutely no place in football even if they aren't sectarian. Two cheeks of the same arse, you and the huns.
Straznicy
Of course Celtic fans are going to show hostility towards the British army. We're a club with express Irish roots - CFC was established by and for Irish working-class immigrants. Most of the club's support is Irish or of Irish descent. The actions of Britain's military in Ireland in the last 40 years alone is enough to merit spite, nevermind their acts over the last 800 years. I'll admit that it was maybe a bit bang-out what happened at the Emirates, but having the poppy imposed upon us was the definition of inconsiderate. adamcs
Aww, poor Neil. He's spent the entire season whipping his own fans into a frenzy, pushing conspiracy theories, abusing officials, starting wars with the SFA and goading opposition fans. He's a ned, and neds attract people of the same ilk. Simples. Some nutter attacking Lennon has more to do with the fact he's a ned and less to do with his religion. Ask yourself why Martin O'Neill (a more successful Northern Irish Roman Catholic) never had to face any of this. I don't see the relevance of pro-IRA songs being sung to this. They're political in nature, not bigoted or sectarian as the authorities try to peddle them. You say it like that makes it okay. Glorifying terrorism is just as bad. Re: Scottish sectarianism - A respected academic uses real facts and data to show that Scottish sectarianism is a myth (yes, real facts and data! It will never catch on.) There is a sectarian industry developing in Scotland. Lazy journalists, politicians, and people involved with government-funded sham organisations like Nil By Mouth, all benefit from sectarianism. Just remember that.
JOSEPH X
Half of me thinks Lennon should go, but after last night it would be a victory for mindless thugism if he went. We have something called freedom of expression in this country - if someone tries to counter that using violence, then they should be under some sort of supervision at least. Edit: Kenny Dalglish has signed a three year contract at Liverpool. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/ma...anager-contract Edited May 12, 2011 by II J0SePh X II
SIKKS66
I genuinely fear Liverpool over Chelsea and Arsenal next year, what Dalglish has done to that team has been massively impressive. A couple new transfers and a summer to recharge the batteries, I think Liverpool will be in the top 4 next year and may well challenge for the title. Seddo
They should have announced it on Saturday afternoon to coincide with United's win and sort of mix it in with the title win news . Massive news that Kenny is staying but it was just as important to also keep Steve Clarke on board as well, he has to take some of the credit for the fairly recent tightness in defence. The Killa
Very hard to ignore the contribution Kenny and Clarke have made so far. What was it, 12th place we were in when they came in? Now we're sitting comfortable in 5th and even had a small shout for 4th, although that's gone now. But I can confidently see us in the top four next season. And if we play our cards right in the summer? Well... roll on the good times
RED_
Depending on how other teams spend i can see Liverpool getting 4th. We have some real money to spend. At the moment Mata looks like he is coming in for 20million. Talks have been ongoing for the last 2 weeks according to a few insiders. Enrique seems to be coming in as our new LB and with Flanagan/Robinson being bright prospects we are certainly on the up. Kenny was always going to sign, great to see it become official. I don't think we will be title challengers and i prefer a slow progressive improvement rather then spending loads in the summer and buying the title. cactus.
You beat me to it, SIKKS. Liverpool are once again looking like a force to be reckoned with in English football and I'm glad they've found their stability as well as their mojo under Dalglish. Very happy for the club and their fans. Hopefully they will really push for the title next year.

SIKKS66
Yeah looked a bit nasty, studs into the thigh. Swansea haven't looked too bad since the red, still 0-0. It's on Sky Sports 1. A Swansea-Cardiff playoff final would be epic. Edit: Ended 0-0, Forest gotta be gutted they didn't take advantage of the extra man for 90 minutes. Nathan Dyer rightly given man of the match, he was impressive for Swansea. Edited May 12, 2011 by SIKKS66
JoeyLeone25
A Swansea-Cardiff playoff final would be epic. It's what I'm ideally hoping for, if they both reach the Play-Off final it's guaranteed seven bells will be kicked out of the turf, the changing rooms and each others players. Also Forest and Reading have been in the Premiership before, give Cardiff or Swansea a chance and give those traditionalist f*ckers who rant moronically that "it's the English Premier League[/i] something to shout about.
