The Killa
Amazing. The blonde Torres in comparison to the dark haired Torres is like a completely different person. 50 million!!

Waddy
Torres will find his scoring ways again, he is a world class striker. Man Utd again getting to their targeted round in the CL. The owners will be VERY happy indeed and now have even more of a reason not to sell or a reason to push the price up. What a deal those guys did, they must keep pinching themselves. Is it me or is this "green and gold" stuff blowing over? Last year it was the most fashionable media hyped protest to be part of and now united are doing well (on for a treble) I've heard nothing about it... I guess maybe the Utd fans have realised Glazer won't sell?
SIKKS66
Whisper it around Old Trafford but the Glazers are actually quite sound. They don't meddle in team affairs (Abramovich, take note) and they do give Fergie quite a substantial amount of money (how much was Bebe again?). Whether they'll still be the paragon of ownership once Fergie leaves is another thing. I just hope they give the next manager a decent amount of time to build a team rather than chopping and changing for not living up to Fergie's benchmark. I guess maybe the Utd fans have realised Glazer won't sell? How can fans complain when they are in the Semi's of the CL, and points clear at the top of the prem looking like they will win it again? What team wouldnt kill to be in their place? if rumours are true they turned down 1.3 billion this year at some stage, that would have given them like 800million profit! They still didnt sell lol. They could have sold Man utd and bought Arsenal and had no debt! @Sikk - If i was them, I would sell as soon as I knew for a fact that SAF was retiring. The formula will never be matched. Josh
As soon as Ferguson goes I expect to see Man Utd go the way that Liverpool went after Dalgleish. A gradual ebbing away punctuated by winning something every now and then before eventually looking beyond the past and into the future in order that their club doesn't become a comatose giant rather than simply a sleeping one. SIKKS66
Some will say Fergie should leave completely when he retires but I actually hope he stays to give the next guide a bit of guidance. Not so much that he would impose but enough to offer a few words of advice here and there. Like Vito Corleone as Michael's consigliere in The Godfather, to use an odd example I hope to God we don't just chop and change managers if things go wrong. That never fixes anything, it's such a small club thing to do. Find the man who we believe can do it and stick with him and his vision.

Vercetti27
@Waddy I thought the point of the protest wasn't about the teams performance but about Glazer dumping loads of debt on united, otherwise united fans would never have protested in the first place

The fans who protested about the sale to the Americans will be feeling pretty stupid. They have invested in players and given SAF everything he has asked for. When Liverpool suffered their American owners they were not winning anything, Man Utd have been recession proof because of the owners. They have done a great job. I think the debt is below 500million now, which isnt bad when the club is worth over 1.3Billion. How could anyone protest? SAF also says he has ALL the Ronaldo money still sitting in the transfer pot too. Dosent get any better.
JOSEPH X
Fergie will be leaving OT in a wooden box. His own father died a few months after retirement, and he probably feels the same will happen to him. The remarkable thing is he's always stayed relevant, whereas a lot of managers brand of football goes out of fashion, or they look for older more experienced players in the market. I think when he does go it'll be like when Busby went. We were relegated a few years later.

Seddo
Ricardo Carvalho is out for the Real v Barça. Ah, they've got Pepe back next game anyway, not that it matters as Barca will tear them a new one again. The funny thing about the 'green and gold to the club is sold' is that you've got some numpties wearing the green and gold scarf but underneath they've got the latest top on. SIKKS66
I'm boycotting buying new shirts til they bring one that is a) genuinely original and classy and b) is used for more than one season. Also, c) I'm f*cking poor. I do fancy buying a Mexico shirt with Chicharito on it though lol.

Der_Don
You can quote me on that! Okay I will Schalke are mid-table in the Bundesliga and recently fired their manager Felix Magath. Even with Inter's defensive woes, I expect them to comfortably go through to the semis. Where are my cookies
Tchuck
So, Diego Forlán has been linked with a move to São Paulo, the club I support His father, Pablo Forlán, played for us for many years back in the day, and has always been a massive supporter, just like his son. This move would make the Brazilian league very exciting this season, with the likes of Ronaldinho, Luís Fabiano, Deco, Adriano, Diego Forlán, Rivaldo and maybe even Seedorf. Gonna be a good season! Specially for us, São Paulo supporters! Edited April 14, 2011 by Tchuck

Seddo
Good reactions from Iker after the Gomez blunder, he didn't celebrate the goal...to me he seemed dissapointed that a fellow goalkeeper made a mess. Spurs tactics yesterday seemed to be try and keep it solid at the back and then try and win 5 penalties.

Canoxa
What is the take of the rest of Europe regarding the Europa League semi finals?
AnotherDave
What is the take of the rest of Europe regarding the Europa League semi finals? I haven't seen too many Europa League games, but I caught most of the Braga/Dynamo game earlier, which was pretty average. Still, it was good for Portugese football to have a third semi-finalist and a guaranteed finalist. Out of the four teams left I'd quite like to see Porto win it as Hulk, João Moutinho, Fernando and Rolando are all players I like and I've been following Falcao since he broke into the first team at River Plate. I assume Porto will rest players for the remaining league games to keep them fresh for Villarreal, which will improve their chances in Europe. Canoxa
Portugal is obviously thrilled for having three teams in the semis, we're just afraid that the rest of Europe will "tune out". Some go as far as saying that the title will lose some of its value and prestige. The Braga game today was a weak. Braga had to close down, having lost a player so early, and while the game featured attacking football, neither team was able to score. The other games were pretty average too, IMO.
