The old topic was huge which made opening it very slow.

Owen out for the rest of the season, I cant see Man Utd offering him a new contract so will he be a free agent again in Summer? Also Owen Hargreaves is back in training and will play for the reserves on Thursday, got to be great news for Man U fans.

To be honest, from a Man United perspective I couldn't give two sh*ts about Owen. I'm shattered for him personally, his whole career has been hampered by injury after injury, and now when he gets some vague sort of playing time, he's injured, again. But United (and England) don't really need him that much, so in the end it's not going to hamper our title pledge.

We have plenty of stocks up front; sign one semi-decent striker in the summer who wants out at his club and we'll be cruising.

Owen is out injured and Rooney might be rested against Wolves because he suffered a slight knock...

We play Wolves away too, definately it'll be a tough 90 minutes versus them.

Woo new topic, old one was proper slow in the end.

Fabregas got injured during Arsenal's game as well, seems like both Rooney and Fabregas could miss their Champions League games. Did anybody see Gutierrez' celebration for Newcastle? quality.

We've got a sh*tty Monday night kick-off.

He has scored some vital goals. Give the guy some respect.

We just got taken apart by Jay Emmanuel Thomas of Doncaster. Firmly dumps us out of the playoff picture and more into the relegation picture. He go a standing ovation when he got subbed off which is more than can be said for our players...

1-0 thanks to Scholes. Vokes misses a sitter in injury time.

Administration can lick my balls because Portsmouth are going to Wembley! biggrin.gif

It was such a tense match and the atmosphere was like no other during the last five or ten minutes. Two goals from man of the match Frederic Piquionne put us in the lead against Birmingham, who were practically speechless the entire match. We didn't start getting into gear until the second half but it was well worth the wait!

I'm not disrespecting the guy, he's a legend of the game, for sure. But in the bigger picture he's our 4th striker (if you consider Nani a striker) so it isn't as shocking as if Rooney or Berbatov were out for the rest of the season.

My whole argument almost goes to sh*t since Rooney is injured and Owen probably would've been needed, but how severe is his injury? They say he'll most likely miss the home match against Inter so it can't be more than a couple of weeks, surely?

To be honest, I think it's more crucial to have both Vidic and Ferdinand at the back because with both of them there it's like putting a brick wall in front of defence; the rest of the team will be able to be more attacking and push up more with those two dropped back.

Tough game with Hull today, I hate these games that are expected to win. Id rather play one of the top 4 to be honest.

lol@Pompey, I can just see them winning the FA cup now, would be the biggest roller coaster of a season ever!

I would keep Owen, he said he is happy being on the bench and coming on as a sub. BTW we are play AC Milan in the Champions League not Inter icon14.gif

I tell you what, what a turnaround by Villa. 2-0 to 3-2 in about 12 minutes. They must have shot up at half time or something...

Yeah, one minute I was looking at 2-0 then 2-3! Looks like some players got a boot up the arse at half time!

Everton about to play Hull, first time for a long time I have seen a 4-4-2, each time before we took a beating... cry.gif

I was looking at newspapers early on and on one of the newspapers (on the back page) it says 'Cole set to join United' his contracts up at the end of the season and i wouldn't mind having him at United.

Sorry for the double but Chelsea are beating Stoke at halftime, Frank Lampard with the goal in 35 minutes.

Chelsea cruising. Bar a miracle it is bye bye Pulis. Shame that the suprise packages are all out really. Villa and Chelsea just show that extra quality to turn it on when it matters.

Chelsea will beat Villa, if Villa end up scoring first then they'll end up sitting back and then pay for it.

Hull City get another spanking lol.

And Arteta back on the score sheet. Dont know if you watched MOTD but how sh*t is Yakubu now? Dreadful.

Title challenge back on!

The Glazers have said that the club is NOT for sale, while the money is still coming into the club why would they? How much profit would they make if they sold for 1Billion? Anyone know the exact level of debt?

Shame Arteta never got his hattrick with the third goal being marked as an oggy. I missed MOTD so don't know how sh*t Yakubu was in that game, saw he missed a penalty though.

Didn't the Glazers buy United for around 900 million but borrowed around 600 million and the club is about 700 million of debt? Makes our debt look like pennies.

Yeah its a hell of a lot of money. Not to cash in and take 300M profit seems a little crazy, they must be very happy with the way things are going. If Man utd win the prem or not they still need some new players in the summer to keep the pressure on. Im not sure if the Glazers will be all for giving him the Ronaldo money back for the transfers. Could be wrong because they dont seem to want to sell...they must know something we dont!

United have only made money in one season under Glazer ownership, the season we sold Ronaldo for £80m upfront, and received a large advance on a shirt deal. Currently the debt stands at £500m in bonds, and ~£250m in PIKs (technically that's Glazer debt, but it's secure against the club), the PIKs are the ones which increase massively every year, 14.25% each July IIRC.

It`s £716.5m debt, the £500m bond issue is to pay off interest and take a chunk off the debt. When the Glazers had bought their final shares they got their money back by loading the debt onto the club. I remember there being a £1bn offer from China at the same time, but the Glazers had their hooks in.

I can`t see them selling, the bonds will be bought up by financial institutions and the debt will be more managable. I don`t fancy the Red Knightons

I'm not sure about your figures, but I know the bonds have already gone. Are you a match-goer?

Nice to see a new topic!

I went and watched city last Saturday against Boro. Won 1-0, but we didn't deserve the win in the second half. We played terrible, and let a very good goal in (offside thank God), but after that our defence tightened up, and it was a good show by Chris Burke and Ross McCormack. icon14.gif
