Today we announced the full details on Season 2 of GTA 5000 Racing Championship. Please continue to submit your best Grand Prix tracks here, so we can test them before September 7th when we will announce the tracklist for Round 1.

If you're interested in joining:

All your average racers (like me) - now we have Division 2 which is only on Non-contact, so you're all welcome to join!

All Pro racers - you're welcome to join/make a team for Division 1 (you will be tested in advance).

Yep, we're still looking for good MotoGP races.

 

Other than that, we have plenty of choices of Sports/Super. We narrowed them down already to 16 races which are featured in the preliminary playlist and we will test them during the qualifications this weekend. After the qualification we will select 12 of them for Round 1 on September 13.

 

I will let you know once we start looking for more Sports/Super car races, will be around mid-September once we start reviewing races for Round 2 (September 27th). Stay malicious ;)

 

@Luap: I informed our reviewer BobMendez about those 2 races, we will test them and consider for future rounds. Thank you!

Plamen, he now might find it easier to check my social page for the most recent playlist I created called 5 Points GP. They were made recently specifically for consideration in a RRR GP event we have planned but they would also fit right in for your needs and have 5 completely different locations and race feels. Your welcome to use them if you like, or not, either way is fine...not fussex with advertizing them or votes or whatever, just enjoy them if they meet your needs.

Yeah, while designing that track it was never my intention to be something more than fooling around with friends.

 

That's why initially I was also surprised that Bob selected it in the preliminary playlist. But after the qualifications I realized that Malicious Slalom fits the program actually quite well. One of the new features in Season 2 (announced more than a month ago) is having 1 "oddball" race in each round. In Round 1 that's Malicious Slalom, as it is racing in rain and with a different class than the usual Sports/Super/Moto. It also takes quite some skill to compete in it plus it is a drift track which we don't have to such extent in none of the other races, and this really adds a nice, different element to the whole program. Some of your Rallycross races will be a nice fit for an oddball race in the future rounds for example.

 

Anyway, I am aware that you guys will be disappointed no matter what I explain now. I know people will blame me or blame Bob or whatever, we're used to that and that's also normal in this situation (since we purposefully have no fixed criteria, and it is designed to be closed room decision making & also subjective, but that's the concept we defined and we stick to it for a number of reasons).

Nevertheless, we take your feedback seriously and most of the things we do in the championship are heavily influenced by your feedback (I have evidence for that if you need some), but after all something we will NOT DO is to try to please everyone.

 

The process of race selection is quite simple - Bob reviews all race candidates & selects the final playlist. I consult him from time to time as other people too give him feedack, but it is his final call on the race selection, and I have 110% trust in him in the same way I do with all of the Commissioners regarding their delegated responsibilities, please do the same thing. And please avoid pressuring Bob or me by complaining in public about why certain race was selected and etc. Just leave him to do his job, if you have constructive feedback, just talk to him or leave him a message.... I know you probably did that already and he probably explained you more or less the same thing I am explaining here again. And by the way we never took the commitment to explain why certain race is selected and why other wasn't (this is not the Approved races thread). If you pressure him and question too much his decisions, it will make his work even harder and even potentially biased (still always give him constructive feedback, we need that!). We still did an exception in this case or few other cases with our close crewmates and we explain why certain thing was decided, simply because we respect you too much and want to keep you happy despite our choices.

I was pretty much as surprised as Marcus was about it, but i didn't know about the "1xOddball race by round" and it's actually a good idea to go outside of the circuits to see what racers are made of !

I'm personnaly not disappointed (anymore), but more enthusiast about it ! Thanks for clearing the question and don't worry, there's no one to blame with this kind of answer, like you said feedback is important from users & from managers :)

Thanks for the short version ;) Me and Bob talked about it when he released the 16 track playlist.

He know what I think about the slalom track.

 

I'm definitely not complaining I just wanted to let you and other people know my opinion in this matter. And that's some kind of feedback I guess.

 

I'm having a tiny feeling that you took this personally Plamen and that's definitely not my intention. Sorry if it came out hard or anything but you and Bob are doing a superb job with the championship and you know it.

i just completely remastered one of the first races i ever made, and during that i realized it would work way better as a Motorcycle race. In fact, it works so well that i am hereby entering it for consideration in further rounds of the GTA 5000.
