Just encountered my first modder/hacker

This guys PSN name was Player_Left_ and in those pictures you can see he had a gun that made the ground explode with water like a fire hydrant but this water sent passive players and tanks flying to their doom. I couldn't get many good pics because he was killing everyone and I had to rush and sneak up on him.

 

He had several other weapons, one was like a laser beam that came from the sky and the other was like the water one but with fire instead that set passive players on fire and flung them in the air. I couldn't get pictures of these ones though as they were too destructive to get close to without dying.

 

On top of all this he couldn't die.

 

Looks like these guys are getting bolder because he made no effort to hide it at all. Makes me wonder if this game will end up a hacked up piece of sh*t like CoD4 did.

Hackers have been around since weeks after it's release. Most of us have seen some crazy stuff they do but it's honestly nothing new.

 

You could report him but it won't do anything. (Rockstar are slow when it comes to people like this).

I've seen the other threads about the 'nice' modders in costumes and stuff but I've never encountered one myself so I just dismissed it. I did use the report feature but I'm not expecting anything to come of it. I'm just a bit concerned that it may get out of hand like in games I played in the past. Is anyone else a bit worried?

It was a huge issue on GTA IV because they spawned in a lot more crazy stuff, you can get "nice" modders on GTA V but I wouldn't trust any of them.

I remember players doing this back in the late 1980's on Pac Man. They'd come in with weapons that would shake the ground, eat magnets, and roll on the grass by the big hill.

It was craziness, but then again, what do you expect for free?

my only encounter with a modder was a pleasant one, they spawned a giant moon rock, spaceship, they flew with my bike at incredible speeds and their walking pace was faster than some cars...plus their character was a topless female lol

I actually reported a youtuber for hacking and modding pretty extremely.

 

Rockstar got back to me several times and said an Investigation had been launched.

 

The last email was from an ACTUAL Customer support agent named James.

And even had his Worker id number or something like that.

 

Report hi. and follow up with the emails.

They'll get him.

 

Just provide the proof and hella be damned pretty soon.

That Dubsta is off the chain tho! I actually ran into another chic that thought I was going to be stupid enough to let her spawn-kill me with rockets from her AP pistol. When I went into passive, she started making fire fountains, like that water in your pics, around me.

To be 100% honest, I would rather GTA Online be shutdown for a week or two so RockStar can sift through this sh!t and make the game safe for normal players. The next step would be to disable the use of memory sticks and linking consoles to PCs over a network.

Yea these hacks are nothing new but the hackers just recently became prominent because they see Rockstar is slow as f*ck with updates to counter them. Just br careful getting in a car with a hacker. My friend who hacks had an option to change his username to mine,(you cant see it change) so when i got in his personal vehicles they replaced mine. Now I have a sh*tty chrome voltic lol. Also be careful reporting thrm, all the douchebag ones have an option to freeze your console when you hit report its not commonly used by hackers because then they can get reported for freezing a players console which is a lot more serious but some dont care. All the grammatical errors above arr because the page on my phone keeps sliding lol.

So these guys have the potential to f*ck up your console or corrupt your saves via freezing? Damn I agree with the guy that said to shut it down for a bit and clear them out before it gets really out of hand.
