How do some people take focus away from the background of a picture? I only know how to do this in "selfie" mode.

How would I know? I'm not allowed to use snapmatic. Rockstar wouldn't want an impressionable 17 year old like me who can legally purchase the game taking pictures of topless girls at the Richman Mansion, now would they?

It's called depth of field btw

The snapmatic has about a 18 - 135mm telephoto lens. When you zoom in you lessen the depth of field.

 

So step back from subject and shoot with full zoom to put background into soft focus
