Most boring book you've read?

Recommended Posts

Someone once told me they found Thompson's books boring, I mean what do you even say to that, apart from every swear that comes off the top of your head?

I ... that's ... yeah, I'm not even sure of what to say to that. There are a great many things that Thompson's books were; boring was not one of them.

Also, on the subject of required school reads being boring - I guess I never got that. I enjoyed analysing the text, for the most part; if I'd gone to university, I would have studied English/American Literature. A lot of the books we studied wouldn't have been ones I'd necessarily picked to read myself, but I didn't finish them feeling as though I never wanted to read another word by those authors again.

Naked Lunch is not interesting.

Lol okay bro.

I haven't read the whole thing, just the first few chapters, so maybe there's a really neat part that I missed out on that makes everyone love the book, but I couldn't stick with it from what I'd read. It's unique, but not very fun to read in the way it's written.

It's like trying to decipher time cube or that guy who went on that rant full of anti-semitic and racist words that doesn't actually make sense. I guess some people are into that, but not me. This thread asked for opinions anyway, jerk. :p

Anything from Shakespeare. It is awful to read and no matter how deep the story is it won't make those books great if you read 40 pages and you have no idea what's going on.

If you ever happen to need/want to read Shakespeare in the future get a version with notes or something. If the notes don't make everything clear make your own notes and pause when you need to to take in what's going on. Barnes and Noble publishes really good versions of Shakespeare that have incredibly helpful notes right on the same page. :)

The Bible

sh*t, I actually like the Bible. Old Testament, that is. New Testament isn't really interesting except for Revelations. Too bad they didn't include Jesus' Babby Adventures in the canon. Brings more depth into his character.

Twilight. Nuff said.

You actually read Twilight? I f*ckin didn't lol. Edited by Adler
