Adding first person cockpit view to GTA V

There's already first person camera views for cars (hood cam) and bikes but I feel they just aren't immersive and exciting as a cockpit view.

Yep, and they'd have to animate the steering wheel, reposition/create a new camera (as the BIKE_POV is too high for most cars), fix the framerate (first person at 25fps and low FOV isn't nice), and fix some VFX (a lot of things don't show up through glass). Some pics.

That being said, it is fun to fly and drive in first person, I just don't think R* will do it.

They had a real good looking cockpit view in midnight club so its possible,but prob not until nex gen version or even gta6 now.i thought they would of had it in V.

They could do it like ArmA and a few others games do it.

 

The game could have low res dashboards and high quality dashboards.

High quality dashboards are only rendered if you toggled first person in your vehicle, no other vehicle has them rendered at that time. If you exit your car or switch to third person again, the dashboard would go to low-res again.

 

Therefor this gives you no performance drop.

In online if you aren't the one driving or flying you can press B/Circle to get a cockpit view. This only works in planes, rental shuttle busses and stretches as far as i know.

In mutiplayer, in some aircrafts like the mammatus and titan, if the passenger presses b ( idk what it is on ps3) then you get a first person view, and I gotta say, for something that you will never see in the titan, the instruments like the altimeter are actually pretty good looking, now they need to just implement that view into the driver. Honestly, I'm fine with the wheel not animating, just seeing your character move is hands around is good enough for m.
