Does anybody else miss the mechanic?

 

The spawns for our vehicles still suck. Being able to punch, shank, or torture the mechanic after he says that snarky "that scratch was already there, right?" comment was really rewarding.


EDIT: Food for thought: Maybe they removed him to add him in later on for bigger garages? They most likely removed him to make it faster to get in your car after the call ends.

I loved the mechanic, he only ran off with my car one time, but I loved the fact that he would come by and deliver my car.

It would be cool if he would have a handgun or something he could use to guard the car till you get to it.

I'd love to torture him for the times he refuses to deliver my car even though I'm near a frikkin road. "Eeeh, sorry, I can't get there, you're gonna have to do with out me!"

I think originally he was removed because of some money making glitch that somehow he was a factor in. A few patches ago, which in turn opened the opportunity for even easier money glitches. Yeah bring johnny back.

The mechanic was pretty fun to deal with. Every time he delivered my car I smacked him with my gun, stole like $20 from him, and then drove off.

 

I was playing a couple weeks ago and I found the mechanic. I did what needed to be done.

no I don't. Well I miss being able to kill him. He helped me level up stealth. But close to his removal the guy was being super annoying. He'd drive around the block a few times before dropping my car off. once I had to blow up my own car when I tried to shoot him with a minigun.

Too many times I've had to run a block or more to a completely different road that I'm stood next to, often making me run the long way round because I can't simply go in a direct route due to buildings/walls/hedges you can't climb over.

 

I don't recall the mechanic ever pulling that sh*t with me!

They removed the mechanic due to the duplicate car glitch. Apparantly this was the only way for them to fix it. I would like to have him back as well because of the immersion. It looks strange having your car spawn out of nowhere.

the new car spawn system is super flawed, delivering the car far from you or simply on the road below you if you happen to call it when youre standing in the highway.

 

the mechanic was a nice dude as long as i dont call him to have my sandking delivered...

 

the bastard would never deliver my sandking, instead he would drive by me and go on a joyride all the way up to paleto bay.

It was fun....but I can't tell you how many times I had to chase down my own car. I prefer the magical approach but would welcome the mechanic back if he were fixed.

They got rid of him because so many people complained about him driving off with their car. It only happened to me twice and I sniped him both times before he got too far. He was also a key player in some duping methods

He was removed due to him driving off with people's cars, or spawning somewhere and driving right past you. Also, they probably were too lazy to fix the money glitches a few patches ago that involved the mechanic, so they just completely took johnny out...
