Disclaimer: I will be showcasing custom races made by users around the web. It is not my intent to judge what is worthy of playing and what isn't. I leave that for you to decide, plus there is already an approved races thread. Instead, I'll be giving more people a chance to see races that I think are good and doing my best to offer constructive criticism. By no means do I claim to be an expert, merely an avid fan. Thank you.

Smokey and the Bandit by Flukey - I liked the race but there is just a bit too much randomness with the 4-star wanted level for my tastes; also some of the ramps, while fun, don't really help you go faster

"Tear up the beautiful setting of Lake Vinewood in this short track with dangerously narrow and bendy roads! Don't head into every turn at full throttle or you will live to regret it! Best played on 4 or more laps, no traffic and no slipstream. Stock cars are probably best to use around these narrow turns also."

Smokey and the Bandit by Flukey - I liked the race but there is just a bit too much randomness with the 4-star wanted level for my tastes; also some of the ramps, while fun, don't really help you go faster

Thanks! The race is a lot of fun with a few racers. The ramps are only there to give an alternate route at the bottlenecks and bridges that the police may have blocked.

Oh okay that makes sense. Cool. Are you unable to put checkpoints in the fort? I would drive around the fort a bit before you jump out if possible.

I was looking around the map earlier and said to myself... Well there's a ready made race track or three looking straight at me up at grape seed. Turned out awesome. I'm going to add a few barriers in the unused side roads at intersections and ill pm you the link.

 

I've test the entity, Cheetah and Turismo on it and they are all doing the same lap times which is great. It doesn't flow well in the entity which is exactly what I hoped for to bring it back a bit and even up the racing.

Most of the base is restricted. The ramp out could've been better but I had to cram the checkpoint and props into that one corner. I tried to make it as simple as possible and even explained what to do in the description. Its stupid, they should just open it all up to content creator.

 

Lol I found a couple more unrestricted areas and made 2 more races through various parts of Fort Zancudo but I don't think they'll be your cup of tea.

Reservoir Rally by Hyperkane (sorry audio is messed up; I liked it a lot, good lap race, good prop and checkpoint placement, could get bumpy with a lot of racers (not much room to maneuver))

Thanks for the review. Yes, it does get tight in some areas and has a few tricky corners. I think this might get me to look for a wider course in my next creation.

 

I also tried a few of your races LPGTAO and i liked them. I like the idea of using multiple terrains in the same race.

Thanks for the video review. It shows the track well, the only thing if I could review your review a little for future videos.

 

It would be much better to do the races in the class of car they were built for as in my case its a super class track. I guess I will go back and edit the settings to disable the other cars so that no one gets the wrong idea. Also I think learning the track first rather than an initial lap impression would make a better review. If you could put 10 or even better 20 laps into a track to learn the lines and how hard you can push each corner before doing the video. The review/track showcase would be at that next level I think if you could push the car to the limit first before recording. If you have the time of course. But its great to get videos reviews because its next to impossible to get anyone to play custom races at the moment.

On your advice, I've taken a couple of the more unnecessary and unexpected ramps out of the race.

Haha that was awesome! Im smiling the whole way while i watch you take the turns. ive crashed where you did so many times lol satisfying when you make clean though. Very impressed with how well you ran the track. Nice job

 

I think the track itself needs some more polish but its great to hear some postive feedback on the direction im headed.
